  1. I sent my wife an email, telling her that I can not wait to hold her in my arms again. I use a English-to-Mandarin translator program. When my wife read the email, with me on the webcam, she laughed so hard, she just about fell out of her chair. I did not think I wrote anything funny, so I asked what she laughed about. Well the program had translated the email to say, " I can not wait to hold you in my weapons". I was embarassed, she thought it was just too funny.
  2. Hey what is wrong with Nebraska. I was born and raised there. Boring? You do not find watching the corn grow exciting? LOL
  3. The lawyers can help. But with good research, you can do better without them. Alot of them, just do not know the Immigration process. They will relie on their paralegals and secretaries to do the work, and they are not qualified. Sorry to hear you are having these problems.
  4. Vegas is a long way for me. We should plan long range, lets do a Nanning get together. LOL. Next spring in Vegas will be hard. But I think an annual get together some where would be nice. There are many from Nanning here. My wife is a little reserved about a meeting. I think I can convince her.
  5. Show her the carpet shampooer. This made me laugh. then made me think. My wife will be here in ~6 months. Maybe I should leave the shampooer out for her to see, and throw away the mop. LOL
  6. It depends on the size of the rice cooker. I have purchased two in the last 5 years. Normal price, about 20-30 dollars at Wal-mart. I purchased a large on, later a small one.
  7. Yeah, let me know. I think that my wife would be interested.
  8. I have noticed there are many of us, with wive's or fiances living in Nanning. My wife and one other lady have gotten together to help each other out with some of the questions they have. I was thinking that if other's are interested, they could share phone numbers and help each other out with some of the questions that come up. Like a little support group. There is alot of mis-information over there on the process. My wife has heard some. Some "experts" just do not know, but are willing to pass out information. If anyone thinks they maybe interested, let me know. I will talk to my wife about it tonight.
  9. I believe the NBC has had a February date since late April or Early May. Keep your eye on the I-130. Mine was approved 6-22. At that time, they were processing in December of last year. I do not think that the I-129F date will ever come up. I am concentrating on the CR-1 process now.
  10. They did not say anything about, that it can only be entered on the third Tuesday of the third week, of the 13th month of the year. They made it too easy.
  11. Fanfan, He can join our team. We welcome all. Us CR-1 approvals are a rare type around here. Most are K1 or K3 approvals. We need all the support we can get.
  12. They are always smarter than we are. They have not had the privledge of our soft life. We have the book smarts, they have the common sense. My wife is still in china, but is always teaching me something. Can't wait to get her here. My learning curve will take a big jump then.
  13. benfanfan, where are you from? My wife lives in Nanning. I am waiting for my step-daughters I-864 bill before I proceed. I am also waiting for my wife to receive the DS-3032's I sent to her. She needs to sign them, and return them to me. I will send them in. 5 day express mail from the US, is fast, but is looking more like 10 day registered mail. Your husband is welcome to ask me questions. there are a few of us, going through the same process. If I do not have the answers, maybe one of the others do. Ask away. We are all here to help.
  14. We were approved I-130 on June 22. Soon I will pay, $335 for I-130/cr-1 process to the NVC. Is there still a charge in Guangzhou for the visa? I have heard both ways on this. The interview is still a ways off, but would be nice to know if we have to pay for the visa there also. If we do, it seems a little like double dipping to me.
  15. I think she will not need one for China. She is still a citizen of China. I do not think she will need one for Mexico or Canada. You can check passportsandvisas.com. They have good information about if countries require a visa or not. I just checked their site, you would need to call them.
  16. I am doing CR-1. I just received the I-864 (Affidavit of Support) bill for my wife. I am still waiting for my daughter's bill. While filling out the I-864, I was wondering. Can I attach a copy of my wife's AOS, to my daughter's bill? If I fill out two separate ones, my daughter's form will have a different household size, than my wife's. I am a little confused. Can any one help straighten me out?
  17. Don't shoot me. My I-130 date is April 2. We were approved June 22. I do expect the K3 date to move much at all now. It has been stuck in the first part of February for 2 months. There have been alot of surprise I-130 approvals out of the VSC in the last month. I am not complaining one bit. Too bad you all can not file throught the VSC.
  18. It appears that they have changed the form. The old form (rev. 11/20/01) had a block 20 that was the same as the block 19 (rev. 4/16/04). But they forgot the instructions. Good catch.
  19. I do not know about her working in HK and being a Philippine citizen. She may have to return to Manila for the interview. Best thing to do, start getting the paperwork in order. Look ahead. Get the I-130 papers ready and sent. Then get the I-129F (K3) papers ready. I married my wife in Febraury and just got the I-130 approved in June. Had to shift gears from K3 to CR-1. Now have things in order for that process. Keep in mind, the K3 process has bogged down as of late. Have read of a new mandate, that the PR process must be trimmed down to 6 months or less. So keep that path in mind. I am looking to have my wife here in December or January.
  20. I did not send one either. Both of my I-130's were approved June 22.
  21. I do think you can track the paperwork on line once it goes to the NVC. The NOA will have a phone number you can call. It is automated, just punch in the Receipt number. You can also talk to an operator. It took them about 3-4 weeks to enter the information into the system. Takes about another week to send out the package. Of course mine is CR-1, So these times may not be valid for yours.
  22. That is right. Our I-130(CR-1) was approved on 6-22, while they are still processing as of Dec. 15, 2003. But normally the K3 process is faster.
  23. Welcome to the CR-1 train. Our I-130 was also approved out of the blue. Been doing some research, with the help of some good folks here on CFL. The CR-1 will save some adjustment pains later. Different process altogether. Send me an email, and I will help where I can with what I know. I and another man, are keeping each other up to date, with what we find out. We can help bring you up to where we are in knowledge. Congrats. Welcome to the train. All aboard!
  24. We had our I-130 approved on 6-22-04. It was a surprise. Going over some paperwork, while webcamming with my wife, Noticed that the I-130 for her daughter, has her name wrong. Her name is Zhangsiwen. Her friend had filled out the I-130 and made her name Wen Zhang Si. Wen is the name everyone calls her. Easy mistake. I did not catch it. Her passport has Zhangsiwen, and her notarized birth certificate is that way also. does anyone know what to do about this. They did not catch it during the approval of the I-130. I know it will be caught later. I want to fix it now. So what do I do about it. I was thinking of calling the NVC on Monday. Telling them of the mistake. Is there a form for this? Can anyone help? let me know.
