  1. Best of lucks Carl, I think she's more than ready for it. I do agree with Frank, there's a reason for the application to go through the Service Center at the beginning, and I now understand why my lawyer wanted the case to be as complete as it can, with tax returns and everything, we even sent my salary verification, so they can see who I am and how stable I am, even though it's not required, it must help in some way.
  2. Frank, could you tell me what EMS stands for? Do you mean that if my bf sends the p3 via EMS it will get to the White Swan hotel first? What other means there are? I just think it's weird for the consulate not to have another place or box to get their correspondence. It's kind of confusing.
  3. Thanks Louis, I've found a great group of people here, without their knowledge and support everything would have been so different. I keep all of you in my prayers and hope that everything will run smoothly in the interview next week.
  4. Hi there, looking into everybody else timeline had noticed that some NVC approved packages reach GZ in a couple of days, while others take much longer. Do you have any idea why? Also can someone explain me why you guys mention so much this Swan hotel? As you can imagine, I am searching the web every morning hoping to see our case approved, it seems like an endless wait, but the key to survive is to keep busy so the time will pass faster. Anyway, it will be so unfair for me to complain as we got Vermont and know is the most efficient center, just keep my fingers crossed that we will also have the same luck as some others who have applied recently.
  5. Looking straight into the eyes of the interviewer is another useful tool, taking a deep breath before it all starts, and just answering sincerely will do it. Good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine.
  6. We just wrote in a separate piece of paper my bf address in chinese, just mention in the app " see attachment". Good luck.
  7. Phil, have a good one in this special time of the year, the weather must be great, and let us know how it goes.
  8. Congratulations Frank, looking at your timeline makes me wish mine will be the same. Knowing that we will probably make it this year makes me very happy, but the wait seems to be too long, we' re already planning on meeting again next summer in Beijing. Everybody says that this time will kill you both, but hang in there pal, before you know you will be togehter this time in your country.
  9. Thanks so much to all of you my friends, tomorrow I''ll be ready to start the ordeal, but I know I'm not alone, only you guys know how it feels. I''ll post my timeline and hope to be one of the rare exceptions. I am really grateful for your support, can't think of any other site for it.
  10. What is the file number in the G-325A? Should I leave it in blank? Also, where it asks for information with the words "if any", should I just leave it in blank if it does not apply?
  11. Thanks a lot, I was praying for you to enter and give your advise.
  12. The worst thing about it is that I did filled out the forms in pdf format in a perfect way, and most of the docs were copied by me. I noticed that I ran out of space in a few fields,in which case I know I should use a continuation sheet, but in some way I felt safer doing it with a lawyer. She did used some special software, and she mentioned it's a new one and she's still not so familiarized with it. I will ask my boyfriend to fill out a new one and send it to me at once (5 days delay only). Another question: what should I write in the last box of the G-325A for my boyfriend where it says: APPLICANT: BE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME AND ALIEN REGISTRATION NUMBER IN THE BOX OUTLINED BY HEAVY BORDER BELOW. His name or mine???? Thank you so much for your help, you all are great!!!!
  13. Hi there to all of you, I had been silent for the past days as I had been gathering all the required docs to be sent along with the I-129F. I did hired a lawyer anyway and as I was going thru the paperwork last friday, I noticed she misspelled the city where my boyfriend was born (substituted a "d" for a "g" in the G325A. She said it's not a big deal. I noticed also that when she printed the form the wording got printed out a little away from the appropriate spaces. Do you guys think it will matter at all? I don't have any other form signed by my boyfriend, which means that if I decide to get a new one from him, some time will be lost. I am anxiously awaiting your comments!!!!
  14. I'm still confused about the type of security checks that are done at the NVC and GZ. What exactly is done at the NVC? Is it for both of us? What checks are done at GZ? Both of us?
  15. You guys are terrible!!!!! Thanks God my last name will be Chen. Oops!!!! I hope you don't find the way to it.
  16. Last time I came thru NY after visiting my boyfriend in China for the fourth time and got asked for the purpose of my trip. I just replied: for tourism purposes, end of the questionnaire. It makes me wonder what will they tell me for choosing a chinese man???? I hate to think that I have to justify to anyone the decisions I make in my life, it's definitely an abuse of power.
  17. Hello to all, by now you must have gotten used to have another gal here ... I read in some thread that married couples who had been married for 2 years have the right to be granted a visa. Is this a fact? If so, where can I find information about this? Thanks, I know this is the best source of information for anxious hearts like mine.
  18. Good luck, Patrick, I will be praying for you as I did for Kim. The key here is to just be sincere and tell the truth as it happened. Tell her to look always into the eyes of the interviewer, it's a sign of assertiveness and sincerity. I know you will give us the good news on Monday, and please share the experience with us, it's so helpful!!!!
  19. Oh dear, i am terribly in love with mine!!!!! We had been looking thru Jacob's questions just to prepare for his interview later, he said he's ready to shot back as Jacob did with his answers. Kim had been great to me, as well as you all.
  20. Dear friend, my best advise is to keep Jacob's name as it is in chinese until you clear everything with the government, the decision may bring you some problems in the future that you certainly don't need. Anyway, you can always introduce him as Jacob to the others. As far as the name in the bank accounts goes, you can write down the name that you want as far as you provide them with the correct SSN (have a check with your local bank). I wish you the best, my prayers had been with you in these past nights. It's been a blessing to find this site. "hasta pronto"
  21. What does AAC stands for? I'm also interested in getting one. Thanks for the help, you all are so great!!!!
  22. My fiance is getting a police certificate now, I understand is good for one year only. Is this statement correct? Another one for you: when we send the K-1 application (I-129) do we have to send originals?
  23. I live in Puerto Rico, where it seems there are no chinese mandarin teachers, even though there are many chinese living in this "island of enchantment". Anybody there could recommend a site to order maybe a chinese speaking course through internet? I had been thinking of cd's, as my aim for now is to be able to speak it. I had been 4 times to China to visit my boyfriend, it feels terrible not to be able to understand a word, except "nihao" and "shierh shierh". Thanks a lot and happy Valentine's day to all!!!!!!
