  1. Jerry, What is that EMS site, and what information from your package shipment back to GZ did you have to have to find out it was signed for?
  2. well, like i said, my father is the one that is my fiance's sponsor. I told him the new info i found about from here about the transcripts from the IRS, he says that since got his copy of his tax returns notarized that it wont be a problem....has anyone used a notarized copy of tax returns for I-134 in interview/submission and been fine?? looking for experiences here.......
  3. that is great news about the medical forms....that they don't have to be translated! actually after i posted the question, i found a copy of the medical form and it was in both english and chinese!!! that is great news! all that translation stuff stresses me out for some reason!
  4. yes, i would love to go there to the yellow mountains one day! we will see! i have heard a lot about them and how beautiful they are! i will just have to ask him what he thinks about that!!! maybe a trip for us! anyway, i just long to be with him, we can go touring and see all the fun stuff someday! just whatever is together is what i am looking forward to!! i know y'all probably feel the same in many ways! our P3 will be mailed tomorrow, well "today" in China, soooo hopefully we will get P4/interview date before long. i know with these holidays coming up though, it will be tough to get anything accomplished anytime soon!! do y'all feel the same way?? it is great having y'all to talk to!!
  5. when P4 comes it contains the medical forms, right? are these in english? the specified doctors that the chinese must go to for their medical exam, are these english speaking/american doctors? what i am getting at is are if these documents are in chinese, they will have to be translated, right? or do they bypass that by sending you to english speaking doctors with an form in english to be filled out? does anyone know?
  6. thanks for the reply, i am assuming he is from one of the smaller, poverty stricken towns....dont know though. he just got back from being there for 2 weeks, and couldn't take it any longer, bj has made him into a bigger ciy boy. i know it will be soooo different when he comes here, my city isn't huge, actually very small for him, but im not worried! it will all work out. i dont think the smallness of his city affects him as much as the poverty of his area....we have the smallness, but not the poverty, well not like he knows of it anyway!!
  7. What part of Anhui did you teach in? How was it? that is where my fiance is from and he swears he will never take me to his hometown, he is not ver fond of it, but anyway, just wondering what it is like. the only place i have lived in china was beijing, and i know his hometown is very different from that. i have been to kunming, lizhung (dont know how to spell that one right) and xiamen though, as well as somewhere in fujian province, fuzhou i think, or is it the other way aroudn, i get it all confused! haha anywya, just wondering!
  8. my experience has been the same....i have only tried once to call, and i got through on the first time after holding for MAYBE 2 mins...but probably not THAT long....so call early! but then again if we tell everyone to call early, then it will be just as busy then, haha....anyway, keep trying, y'all will get through! have Faith, in God!!!
  9. oh wow! that's cool. I go to school in Nawlins! haha make that wonderful drive there from baton rouge twice a week! looking forward to Christmas break so i dont have the drive that for a while!!
  10. where do y'all live, if you dont mind me asking, that you deal with cajuns?? i am from louisiana!!! y'all talking about my people! haha
  11. ok, of course i submitted all that with my beginning stages, but for the interview, would you think we still need my plane ticket copies and passport/visa copies, or is the copy they should already have be good enough? i think i will make copies of our phone records for him to bring since that is more up to date than so long ago when we started this process, but other than that, what new stuff should we be prepared to show...besides the obvious stuff asked for....im speaking of "being on the safe side" of things type stuff, recent phone records, my trip there since the last submission, etc....any suggestions?
  12. Question... my father is the sponsor for my fiance. We got his tax returns notarized, but we just got the copy he had already. is that good enough you think? or should we ask the IRS for the transcripts?
  13. My fiance got his police certificate from the police department in his hometown where he lived until he was 18 or 19. then he moved to Beijing, and has lived there for the past 5 or 6 years. When he moved there, he got the papers to be officially living there, ID card and what not, but he wasn't ever required to move his household booklet (birth certificate) to Beijing. So, technically and legally he has been living in BJ for those years, but his household booklet has stayed in his hometown. He got the certificate from the police in his hometown the other day and they put the date on there from his birth until the date the day they did it, that he has no record there, or whatever the official info is for that certificate. my question is that even though he has been living in BJ, since he has never had to move his booklet and the police put the date of november 2003, does he still need to get one from BJ? i know it is supposed to be anywhere that he has lived since age 16 for more than six months, but wont the two certificiates conflict in the dates?? also, he is legally in BJ and registered, but since his household booklet isn't registered in BJ, will he be able to get a certificate from there?? anyone have anything insight?? experience?? thanks!

  15. MarkLuvsShuPing i couldn't agree with you more. In many things, in fact all things, in life i wonder how people make it through without faith in God! After becoming a part of this process i only continue to wonder how people make it without the faith in knowing that God is faithful and He will sustain you. That is the ONLY way jacob and i make it. Some days i lose my focus and begin to wonder if this is ever going to end, but GOd has a gentle way of reminding me that He is in control!! Thanks for your comment on faith, I really was encouraged by it! Have a great day! kimnjake
  16. my fiance speaks english very well. he is a tour guide in Beijing for foreign, english speaking tourists. when he comes up with words and phrases, sometimes i am left dumbfounded as to where he would have gotten that from and how he knows how to use them. he and i met through some mutual friends. the first summer i lived in china, we were just good friends, and were hanging out often. our mutual friends always told me that he and should date each other, but i never thought he would want to date me, so i just said, "yea, whatever" and went on with life. he and i got closer and closer and then i had to return home to finish college. after getting my degree, i moved back to china for six months. by this time we both knew we really like each other and we decided that we would start dating each other and get to know one another better. then it happened, we truly fell in love. now we can't stand living without one another. i have since come back to the US and am working on my masters degree while we are waiting out this time apart, and trying to save money so he and i can have life together. i have the feeling that he and i are younger than most people on here, so needless to say, i am not established in my career yet, and am still working on it, all the while trusting that God will meet our needs. We feel God allowed us to be brought together, it was by His design and plan, and He will also be faithful in working out the details. i have managed, by God's grace, to be able to go back and visit about once every six months or so for the last year and a half since returning to work on my masters degree. we are moving along in the process, and hope to be able to begin life one day in the not tooooo distant future. his english is very good, praise God, and my chinese is struggling. haha i try often though and he encourages me. it is so funny, as many of you have experienced as well, i am sure. he just goes on like i said it right, and just has to figure out on his own what i mean some of the time. we always use english to communicate, and use chinese when it is convenient and more fun, like when around other americans that dont speak chinese and can't understand us. he also has an accent, but it isn't a necessarily Chinese one...i truly don't know how to describe it! but it is cute anyway! hehe anyway, thanks to all who share about their experiences and live, i truly enjoy reading about each one! i am glad to have found this website and joined and become a part!! thanks to all! kimnjake INS received petition April 3, 2003 INS to NVC August 6, 2003 NVC to GZ (we were never notified of this by NVC) September 15, 2003 DHL cleared in GZ October 23, 2003 GZ entered in computer October 28, 2003 GZ Mailed P3 November 4, 2003 P3 Recieved November 8. 2003...gathering the details now and mailing it back ASAP!! it is killing me that he is taking this long to do it, but I know God is in control and it will happen!! there was some info he didn't know and is finding out back in his hometown now, should be in the mail back to GZ in about 2 or 3 more days!!!
  17. I need to send a copy of my birth certificate or passport to him for the interview?? where does it say this? is it just for proof that i have been there? do i need to send all of the proof that i submitted from the beginning for proof of relationship to him for him to bring to his interview? that included pics of us together, which he has some of his own he will bring, my passport pages with visas, stamps, etc, my plane ticket receipts, boarding passes, etc. do i need to send him a copy of all that to bring with him to the interview, or do they already have that in their possession?? also, does anyone know anything about if the sponsor for the avidavit of support has to send his birth certificate? my dad is the sponsor, and i thought i read somehwere a while ago that he needed his birth certificate for some sponsor requirement, but i didn't see it anywhere stated on the I-134 or paperwork...does anyone know? thanks! kimnjake

  20. from my experience in china and understanding, Guanxi isn't something that is like for sale or that you can just get, it is more like being "in the know" and having "connections". I don't really think it would be the case that someone would be able to offer it to you, it just like you knowing someone who knows someone who is important or who knows someone who is important, and on and on....it gets stuff done! it isn't something you buy from someone, but it is something that may happen with money involved, if that makes ANY sense! money might be how it actually gets done, but it isn't what makes it happen, the relationship makes it happen! for instance, when i was living in china, i was teaching, but i was there on a tourist visa for some time, well as we all probably know, those don't last very long, not as long as a teaching term does, so in order to extend my visa, my boss got a friend of his to say i was a student at a certain university, i then had a student visa and could stay up to a year. it happened because of the relationship, guanxi, but it happened through him paying him to do it....... by the way, kimnjake can be changed to P3 rec'd 11/08!! Praise the Lord!! be patient, y'all, they are all coming!!! kimnjake
  21. well, the P3 arrived! God is so faithful! Amazing! I just got the call from my Jacob telling me he just got P3 in the mail!! We are so excited. THings are moving y'all, hang in there. I know our battle isn't over yet, but it is encouraging that it is all moving! I am so happy I found this website! I love reading everyone's stories and comments! THanks y'all! Keep being patient! God is faithful! kimnjake
