  1. Thats an option ... but we would still have to talk to someone about that also. and so far we can't figure out how to talk to someone
  2. Has anyone else had these types of problems? Interview set for Dec.4 P4 mailed nov.9 " never received " Tried to buy minutes to talk to someone at the embassy but the website won't follow thru with payment. Email site sends back an email that says " This website no longer receives incoming email" NVC says there is nothing they can do. Fax has been sent but still no reply. We have downloaded all the forms needed but we still need the invitation letter, She can pick it up when she goes for her medical but only if it's prior arranged and we can't do that if we can't talk to someone. Can anyone help? Dave & Jing
  3. I don't believe so because others have said that they had to do the same thing ..... but thats a great question. She is sending a fax to them in the morning, I will be calling NVC Monday morning and i have also contacted The immigration Lawyer i hired right at the begining of this adventure, and she is working on it also. Hopefully someone will get an answer.
  4. Hi iyan46 Like dnoblett said Definitely start to download and prepare your P4 forms. Build your kitchen sink. Call GUZ see if you can get another P4 letter. Good luck to you. Best wishes, Gino & Lulu And the best of luck to you both also! Thanks ... we have all the forms now and i will help her fill them out when she comes home from work, I think we have everything else already ... i sent her the I-134 forms a few weeks ago along with everything else i needed to send so i think we are good there ... all we were waiting for were the P4 forms and now we have those to thanks to you all here. Now if we can just get the invite letter we will be all set. She is going to Guangzhou next week to get her medical done and she can stop at the embassy then. I am going to try to call ahead but with the holiday i'm not sure when someone will be there to answer. Dave Seems like you will have couple very busy weeks ahead of you . Good luck to you. Best wishes, Gino & Lulu

  6. Yes, call DOS and ask when it was posted. Also, send an email to GUZ and tell them it was not received (if more than 10 days ago), and request another be sent out ASAP due to the early interview. Here is the email link. http://www.usembassy-china.org.cn/guangzhou/iv/email.html Called DOS and they say it was sent 11/9/07 Tried to email but the response is that they don't reply from that address any longer ... and still no P4 laywer is looking into it now but it's getting tense the interview is scheduled for Dec 4 All the P4 forms are available for download from the consulate website, and here on CFL http://www.candleforlove.com/FAQ/Forms/index2.htm Only form of concern is the interview invite letter, when in I was in Guangzhou for visa interview, I was able to get an extra copy of the interview latter at ACH at the consulate. Jing is Downloading the forms as i write this ... and i told her about getting the invite letter at the consolate ... It;s taking some of the stress off .... and she's not giving me that LOOK any longer ... and hopefully the pkg will still come . Thanks so much for your help Dave and Jing

  8. James how do you access the Internet? My problem as far as I know is I can't have DSL without a landline. Just call your phone company and tell them you want to dump landline because all you ever use is a cell phone. tell them you would like to keep the DSL. I did this w/my Phone company (Alltel), but maybe you cannot, but try. Then if they let you out, go to Viatalk.com (vonage too expensive) and piggyback your dsl so have phone/fax/service/E911. I used skype in/out while in China, just brought laptop and my external mic (no need for skype phone). I run off of verizon wirless internet for my laptop, XD problem solved with the VOIP problems unless the cell towers fall over? Do you ever have connection problems when using skype and your wireless card?
  9. Careful-If she goes Sunday then she will have her medical on Monday. I think you can pay an expedite fee but getting the results before she goes to the Interview Tuesday morning maybe tough. Thanks for the advice ... i'll let her know ... she's not going to be happy because she will have to take time off of work to get there early and she tells me she doesn't have any vacation time left ... but i'm going to tell her .. and then duck
  10. Quite correct. For IRS, the rule is "over 50%" of total support. What is total support? It is the total cost for the dependent divided by the amount you provided. If four people live in a household, 1/4th of the total cost for rent (or fair market rent), utilities, repairs, food, etc. applies to the dependent. Any direct cost such as clothing, gifts, entertainment, etc. is added to the total cost and the amount of those things contributed by you are added to that side of the equation. In the end, you take total support divided by your contribution. If it's over 50%, the deduction is yours. As far as collecting on back support, it should just take a call to whatever agency in your state enforces child support. Here in Oregon, it's the Department of Justice. There are federal laws and many states have passed tougher sanctions on dead beat dads. The enforcement agency will take all of the action necessary to collect. You do NOT need to pay any legal costs as long as custody is clear and support is ordered.
  11. Thanks for all the great advice, I talked with Jing just alittle while ago and i think we got it all worked out. I chk'd the websites posted and it answered most everything and what they didn't answer you all did! thanks again
  12. Thanks for the Help, Jing and her son will be traveling by train from Nanning, Not sure about the hotel yet but she is working on that ... i told her to find one close and comfortable. I'm not sure how much in advance she should arrive .. her interview is on Tuesday and she said she should go on Sunday.. enough time? i am sending her money by WU this week and told her to deposit it immediatly and then use whatever she needs when she needs it ... don't want her carrying lots of cash until she needs it and then be very careful about who see's it. So if i send her $1,000 that should be more than enough for her and son including travel and hotel? and just so you all know ... she is getting very nervous now and it's making me nervous too ... i wish i could be there with her, it would make me more comfortable ... but unfortunatly my job won't allow me to take time off right now.
  13. Hello eveyone Unfortunatly i won't be able to be at Jings interview because of work but i want to make sure she has more than enough to cover all of the fees that go along with the P4 ... i know she will have to do the fingerprints, Interview fees, medical and all but i can't find anywhere that says how much they all cost. She will be going to the interview with her son ... he will be following later in the summer so they both have to go and her interview is in 2 weeks. Anyone able to tell me what all the current fees will be so i can send it out to her? Dave & Jing Sorry ... it's for a K1 & K2 visa's I'm reading online the at the Embassy website that Jing has to fill out an electronic form, Print it and take it with her ... is this true?
  14. I too am a confirmed Skype user, We have been using it to talk daily for almost 2 years. We use both the video chat and the phone service. I'm so used to it i don't know how we could have gotten to know each other any better without living together. And for those who might consider it ... the chat program is free ... you only have to pay if you want the phone number also Dave & Jing
  15. Finally after all this time my Jing is scheduled for a Dec 4 interview ... but the P-4 has not come in the mail yet ... should we be concerned?
