  6. At least someone is watching congress .... they need to be watched
  7. I asked Jing about this, She tells me that as long as your divorce papers say you have custody that they probably won't ask about it.
  8. Amanda, My wife only had her divorce papers when we applied for her and her son's visa ... and we had no problem.. BUT ... there was no contact between the son and father for years ... he's 16 now. How old is your son, and do you think the father will contest you bringing him to the US ?
  9. Thank you both My wife was very concerned about this and i told her " I know just the place to ask this question " Thanks again
  10. Jings son arrived yesterday ...but there is no A number on his Visa ... is it the same as his moms or did the Boneheads at the immigration office in NY forget to write on his visa? and if they gorgot ... how do i go about getting it ?
  11. Go to the nearest office and explain. Jings got lost the first time but when we went and told them they gave her the number and the card arrived a week or so later
  12. Made sure i had copies of everything except the employment letter ( they ask for an original in the Application for support ) And each form was treated as an individual form ... nothing shared
  13. One for each application - AOS, EAD, and AP - and separate each application with a manila folder, tabs, or whatever. A cover sheet to include only whats in that particular folder or just a general cover sheet that will include everything sent in?
  14. Jind and i are about to send all the paerwork in for her green card ... we have everything together ... in a big envelope and stuck together with paper clips .... is there any special way i should arrange all of this before i send it in?? Dave
  15. Whe Jing come over in Feb. she had 2 large bags and a carry on and a large purse ..... she got them to the US ok but the big one was overweight once she got here so i had to pay extra to get it from NY to Florida. She shipped a cpl large boxes before she left and it took about 4 wks to get here .... Shipping was much cheaper and alot easier. Anything you don't need right away, that isn't to fragile ... better off to ship it. Dave
  16. Do they supply the form or is it something i have to take with me ? I don't need the divorce papers for the I-864 Application for support ? Once you are married, and she has her visa they think the divorced did really happen. You do not need to resubmit the old divorce info. Just submit the new married info, the certified copy of your marriage certificate. MOst have the form, but you can bring it to be sure. Thank You
  17. Do they supply the form or is it something i have to take with me ? I don't need the divorce papers for the I-864 Application for support ?
  18. Jing had a complete examination comparable to the I-693 exam while she was in China ... she has a book from them called " Certificate of Health Examination " and it was done by a US approved Dr. so does she have to have it all done again here?
  19. She needs to submit the I-693A with the I-485. It must be signed by the civil surgeon. It will simply state what shots she has had. The I-797 is the receipt for her application. The USCIS will send it (one for each application) to her. No divorce decree is needed for either the AP (I-131) or EAD (I-785) applications. Just given approximate dates. It is good for the entire year. The I-797 is the reciept they sent me when i sent the I-129F correct? and by reading the list i saw posted here ... the divorce papers are for the I-864 ( although i see no reason why )
  20. I am making copies and working on all the forms needed to send for green card. Question 1. " Form I-693A Vaccination Supplement for Intending Immigrant " Jing got all of her shots in China ... does she still need to see a civil surgeon here? She has her little yellow book. Question 2. I see we don't need divorce docs for the I-485 ... but do we still need them for the I-797 ? Question 3. I'd like to file for the AP ... but we don't have any set dates yet for her to travel ... whats the procedure for this ? Thanks Dave
  21. I am almost finished with Jings paperwork ...but i have 1 more question! Part 1 Which box should i check?
  22. Excellent ... thank you very much
