1. Well here you go this is hard to believe but we got the 2 year card in the mail today!!! Approved on 12/29 and got the card today NO INTERVIEW!! Can you guys immagine if the visa process worked this way..???
2. It is not official but has been called that here soooo I guess if you have had no issues rejection during your current process you are trouble free. I cannot give you a better answer then that but there must be a reason to waive the interview..see my new UPDATE
3. Thanks everyone!!! I will keep you informed if there are any issues and time when she gets it. I guess if you have a trouble free case they are waiving the interview..Other then the time involved to get her here as you all know in the first place that was the worst part.. The rest as far as I am concerned was Trouble Free lots a BS but trouble free..
4. Got this a few days ago actually the 29th and have recieved 3 more e-mails about the same but I think this says it all.. 5. WOW thats great good old NY still good for somethings.. We are still waiting she will be here two years in March..
6. Going to the Civil Surgeon tomorrow Friday the 2nd.. Was told by person on phone that the cost would be between $180 to $385..Well she has had almost all shots and has her yellow book and certified translated docs from childhood shots,,I am waitng for this guy to tell me she needs physical and then I will go into action. She came here in March 04 we filed AoS in October 04 so I-485 was filed within year of her being here so according to exemption on USCIS site she should NOT need a physical.. I have good insurance and am sure most of this would be paid for by them. However no scense in over-doing stuff. I will let you all know what happens. Yeah Atlanta sucks but what can you do the main thing is she is here.. CSC has moved quite fast they got her docs sometime around October 21,05 so to December is pretty good for action for a change. Hell I wish the Visa process moved so fast..
7. Thanks everyone!!! On your question for EAD renewal.. The AoS documents were sent to CSC in October 2005. I just went ahead and filed for the EAD renewal using the standard form sent them copies of what they need with the renewal app along with the $175.00(to the Chicago lock box cetified mail) and received the notice of action to appear on 11/29/05 at 2PM for the Bio-metrics.. So no hick-ups yet if anything happens at USCIS in Birmingham I will let you know.. Other then the I.D. required to bring with her they asked for nothing else..And as I said this is the second renewal soooo. I do not expect anything other then to walk in there have them take her prints and thats it.. Her current EAD expires at the end of December 05. 171916 All went well about 15 minutes for the whole finger printing bio-metrics. However they would NOT let me wait in the office while she had it done. I was able to stay and help fill in the form but after that was done was told to leave the office and go wait in my car.. Keep in mind that this was my fourth visit and last three times had no problem waiting in the office waiting area.. Oh by the way thre were a tolal of three people there including my wife and about 50 or so empty chairs in the waiting area.. Maybe I am just to scary for them..

9. Been awhile..Just got notice of action from Laguna Nigel CA. Form I-797.. We are in the Atlanta service center area(yeah I know)They sent our AOS to CA on 10/1/05 and that I felt was good. Now with all the rumors floating around about not having to appear for an interview if you have a trouble free case this may confirm that. The Notice of action said to send 2 recent photos taken within 30 days passport style full face forward 2 inchs square and a copy of medical exam form I-693 signed of course by the civil surgeon. This sheet was attached to the I-797 and is numbered as attachment to:I-797. They have given us until February 14th 2006 to reply(good day to choose) So hopefully we will get that out within the next two weeks and then hopefully they will tell us all is good and send the temp green card.. Monday she goes for EAD renewal(bio-metrics)no big deal 2nd one. Thats about it just thought I would up date on this. Hope all had a Happy Thanksgiving!!
10. When I spoke to the woman at the USCIS help desk she said the AR-11 was for people that already had CGC/GC and I needed to send letter to my local office where I applied at. 168851 We sent ours to the Loundon KY mail address for change that was it But we only moved a few miles from the original AOS was sent from.. Still I think that is the main requirement for change of address over 8 months now gettting notices from them etc no problem Send everthing Certified Mail..

12. Thanks dan So if your SO does not get US citizenship but becomes a permanent resident with a renewal every 10 years they can retain their Chinese citizenship correct? Our friend is going for the US citizenship and has told us she would give up her China ID when she returns,,she does go back every year but she wants the US citizenship.
13. Hi folks a little confused.. We have a close Chinese lady friend who has been here for 5 years (she is from Shanghai) and has her green card and is very close to getting her US citizenship. We had a discussion one evening about traveling to China she told me that her China ID would have to be surrendered once she got US Citizenship.. Is this true?? I kinda thought that dual citizenship is allowed but according to her no..Maybe a US gov thing because we do not i.e USA does not allow so PRChina does not allow dual citizenship.. Anybody know for sure??
14. Our case should eventually land us at the Boston office. Not sure that the case was ever there. Applied to the lockbox in Chicago, did biometrics in Boston in June, and now this. I'm hoping it means we are close to having an interview scheduled. Other recent Boston timelines I've seen have been running 11-13 months. 156099 Ok I am am originally from upstate New York and have seen many who go through Boston and Vermont they just seem to be faster there for some reason maybe have their sh** together better but I am sure you will get your AoS faster then us they will still send back to Atlanta for interview and I am sure it will some how still be slow..
15. Ok this is scarry did they get all our names from CFL?? Wow I thought that if in Mass. you would go through Vermont for your AoS?? Well California use to be the 2nd fastest in the country we shall see. Has anyone used the Infolink sevice yet to set appointments etc. It is my understanding that this reduces the time down to about 3 months.
16. Well buddy when your dealing with Atlanta the slowest in the country 1 day less is kinda an improvment for them. At this point I really don't care she has been here for almost 2 years this March 06 and we have followed the law all the way so if they have plans on sending her back they better bring guns..Besides with the 10 million illegals in this country already(doesn't that burn you when we did every thing right)they should be to busy chasing them..yeah right.. Oh well just posting a little update.
17. I think this maybe good as infolink is available maybe speed it up from about 2.5 years to 2 years..I got this from USCIS today. *** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL *** The following is the latest information on your case status Receipt Number: MSCXXXXXXXXXXX Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status Current Status: On September 20, 2005, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER for processing. 18. Rob Welcome,, use to live in Bradenton.. I believe you will file through the Texas service center you can check our time line for the journey ahead.. Was just at Sharkys in May thats where the picture is from.. Buy the way the statustitions here informed me that we had one of the fastest P3 P4 at one time anyway may have changed.. Good luck ask away..
19. Everyone here will tell you it is always best to go if you possibly can. However we all understand work commitments costs time schedules etc. I had just come back in January 04 after being there for 3 weeks and my now wifes interview was in March 04 shes a real trooper and liberated lady so had no problem going alone and kicked a** no problem whatsoever you will find all the info here to get you and yours there and through this.. Welcome!!
20. You are right had that happen in Shanghai seems $200.00 is it and you are right after 24 hours you could withdraw again.. must be something in their banking rules I am still looking for an answer as to why you can only draw out 200 in 24 hours in Shanghai in Shenzhen you could keep going back after your first withdrawl and get more of course you are hit with the ATM fee again somebody has to make money I just do not understand why this is not available in Shanghai??
21. No Problem you do not link the Chinese bank account to your account or the PayPal account.. You open the PayPal account in your name 5 minutes and link to you bank account you control the amount of funds sent to PayPal account at their site set up a premeier account and request a debit card in your name.. after 60 days they will issue to you another debit card in anybodies name upon your request you tell them. Once you get the card from PayPal they will only send to you send the card to SO activate the card after SO gets give SO pin number they now have card in their name don't need ATM can use in bank/teller or ATM
22. The problem is not every town has ATM's however almost all have banks that accept Visa and or Master Card so if no ATM they walk into the bank and get cash from teller but card must have their name on it. Yes we understand about debit card can be sent in anybodies name and used at ATM as long as you have a pass word/pin however what if there are no ATM's in the town I have run into this many times China has not developed their ATM system to be available all over. This eliminate the need for an ATM..by having the card in So's name..
