  1. That's what we have, too. So it seems a norm to do so here.
  2. Pha, Thanks. I've obtained tax transcripts for the last three years. I'll fill out the I-134 and get the letter from my employer when the time is right as you suggested. Speaking of the language, her English is just so-so. But since both of us are native Chinese, would it be advisable for her to choose Chinese as the interview language? Jing
  3. The police certificate, birth certificate, and single certificate have been taken care of. Regarding the passport, hers is valid until October 2008. Shoud she get a new one?
  4. Greetings from China. According to the letter from the NVC, my petition was mailed to GUZ at the end of December. I'm expecting it to be received in Feb or March. Is it a reasonable estimate? In addition, what should we do at this point of the process? I'm still in China with my An. Is there anything needing doing in the US? I won't return unitl the end of the month?
  5. It is offical that we are approved. My friend scanned the NOA2 and emailed it to me. It said clearly the petition above has been approved. I wonder if they had approved it on 8/23 when the first touch took place and waited until now to notify me. What does the expiration date on NOA2 mean?
  6. We obtained the report from a local resident commission and it is hand written with a stamp from the local policy branch. Is it what is required by GUZ?
  7. I got a phone call from a friend who is taking care of my mail while I'm away saying that she received the appoval letter dated 12/17. This news made both my SO and me so excited that we drank a bottle of red wine to celebrate. I checked the USCIS website and found out that there were still no touches or case status change (received and pending).
  8. Gino, You're not shabby yourself for you are now a PINK couple. Jing Hi Jing I am sooooo envy you. Gino
  9. Congrats from someone in the same time zone as the interview was taken place.
  10. It is so good to be with An again. Well, I still want to check my NOA2 status but I forget the USCIS webiste. Please let me know. Thanks. Jing
  11. What's Lee's username? PM Lee or Jim J to be for sure on the answer.
  12. I'm not getting an attorney. I just want to give a trusted friend the power of attorney so that she could respond to an RFE, if any, while I'm in China.
  13. Thank you. I can't wait to be with An.
  14. The first box has "In re:", "Date:" and "File No." How should I fill them out? Or it is for official use only. Thank.
  15. It was not like she was unwilling to do it. She is a personal friend of mine. She showed me a booklet from the State of Maryland to justify her decision. I will definitely ask for a 2nd opinion. In addition, I plan to be with SO for her interview. Thank you all for your inputs.
  16. But we are not married, yet. what about getting the passport (her pasport) notarized for filing taxes? filing married while she is still in China.
  17. The Notary Public told me that she or any others was not allowed to notarize the copy of my passport. Is she right? If so, how can get it notarized?
  18. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. G-28 is another good idea. Thanks. Where can I download the form? The chance for an REF is slim but I'm just trying to prepare for all eventualities. The RFE will show a date it must be received by at the service center. If not received by on that date your application will be consideded denied and void (start again). Of course it will be fine. Just make sure you know how to post it to them from China by airmail and you have any documents you may need with you for the RFE. Why not give someone power of attorny back home to do this for you. File a G-28 first, so they can sign for you. Just review the RFE and response before they post it back to the USCIS. Then again, what are the chances of you getting an RFE?
  20. This is good to know. Thanks for the head up. I'll arrange for someone to forward RFE, if any, to me in China and I'll respond from there. Would that work? The RFE will show a date it must be received by at the service center. If not received by on that date your application will be consideded denied and void (start again).
  21. Is there a time frame within which an RFE must be answered?
  22. Thanks for your advices. What's the consequence if I don't reply to an RFE (hopefully I don't get one) in a timely fashion?
  23. I'll in China in 10 days (12/11) for a 47 day stay (until 1/27/08). I'm still waiting for my NOA2. I plan to bring a copy of I-129F, our up-to-date email, msn, snail mail and phone correspondences along with my tax transcripts for the last 3 years with me so that we can start to assemble the kitchen sink while I'm there. Is there anything else I should bring? Anything I should do and collect in China? Various scenarios may play out while I'm gone. There is still a slim chance that my NOA2 may be approved before I go. This would be the best scenario. But if not, it would be mostly likely during my stay in China. I don't think my extended stay will hurt in this case because it takes time to move my petition from VSC to NVC to GUZ. Is my assumption on this reasonable? This is the second best scenario. The worse possible scenario is, God forbidden, that I would get an REF while in China. In that case, I would be able to submit the evidence until my return. What should I do? Your advices would be much appreciated.
