  1. Here is what I get when i do a case status report.

I need to do a I-131 for AP and one of the things it asks for is where is our I-485 pending at. Here is what I get when I do a Case Status:

I need to know this before I can file the I-131 Advanced Parole.

    Thanks for ur help, Patrick

  2. I am tired of paying. We had to renew our EAD, That costs $180.00 for all you that are uninformed.

Got to soon file for AP, That is another $170.00.

    All for what????

Because the USCIS and the FBI are dragging their feet.

I am going to do a little research just to see exactly how much I have spent so far just in Paperwork fees. I would venture to say it exceeds $1500.00

    Ought to be Tax deductable!!

    Ok, Did some research.

    Filed

    I-129F = $170.00

    I-130 = $190.00

    I-131 = $170.00

    I-485 = $325.00 x 2= $650.00

    I-765 = $180.00 x 3= $540.00

for a Grand Total of $1720.00

Of course. That doesnt include the Medical exams, The SS# fees, Drivers License fees. Doesn't include any Biometrics fees that might not have been included in those costs. Doesnt include Gas or the days off I had to take to do the 6 fingerprint jobs so far. Doesnt include the fact that my wife had to take a 16 hour train ride from Nanning to Guangzhou for 3 seperate interviews because USCIS is too damn STUPID to get out of their own way.

So please, DON'T try to console me. I only want people who have guns or attitudes on my side. I am ready to go POSTAL!! Who wants in?

    Friggin Arseholes. Fuggem!!

  3. AP is usually 90 days, but that is dependent on the local USCIS district office.

You may need to make an infopass appointment to have an IO look up the status of her AOS, if you do it over the phone they only log your information and then tell you they will get you a response in 30-90 days. With an infopass appointment you can at the very least try to get some information.

Also, if your local congressional representative makes an inquiry it can help at this point because they will need to locate the file, which will probably include knocking an inch of dust off the file.

I have a feeling it is sitting on someones desk in the bottom of a pile. ;)

Hey Lee, Thanks for your reply.

I have done all of that. Infopass appt only tells me that my file is being held up due to Namecheck and that their is nothing that can be done.

I had my Congressman do an inquiry, and I have received 2 letters from them and basically it is what you can imagine. They say that their hands are tied due to it being the FBI. In fact, i received a letter from them today. Blah blah, same old crap!

  4. It will be 3 years this June.

Now the magic question...... How long does it take to get Citizenship?

Up to 120 days after filing for naturalization, again some have to sue the government to perform their duty. See my previous post.

    Hi Patrick,

Lee nailed it; your wife needs her LPR status.

Looking at your timeline I see you filed the I-485 for your wife on 07-09-04 but you filed before the I-130 was approved, if I remember correctly. I remember that from your posts, plus, you're the only one I've seen to do that. I always thought about how things were going for you two since then. Also, we both were going thru the K3 process at the same time and that's been a long time ago since our days "in the trenches."

CIS works in strange ways. Your wife's son got his 10 year GC and your wife hasn't gotten hers yet and it's been 31 months (07-09-04).

My wife got her 10 year GC but my wife's daughter hasn't gotten hers yet and it's been 30 months (08-09-04).

We're in the same boat except I am on the starboard bow and you are on the port stern!...

Dan might be on to something; sue the CIS and get them to do their job!.......

Yes, I looked at that too.

The GC eliminates all of these extra costs, I will soon have to apply for AP because my wife is going back to China this summer.

Anybody know what the average length of time it takes to get AP is?

  5. Crawling on my hands and knees works for me most of the time. If that doesnt work then I have to put my head on her shoulders and beg her forgiveness and then slowly work my way back into her good graces.

But trust me, The rewards at the end is sooooo much more than what I gave to get them.

  6. Before you can check on your status you need to receive the I-797C receipt for AOS that will have her case number on it. The processing time will more than likely be about 6 months assuming you are in the Milwaukee district area.

    Oh, Really?? about 6 months?

Sorry, I am being a smartass, but that is a bit misleading. AOS has to go through a FBI Namecheck, and if ur a lucky one, then ya might get through in 6 months. But, I wouldnt get my hopes up. We are at Month 31 since we filed.

Good luck, I hope it is better than ours.

    Patrick

  7. If it has been two years since your AOS interview, I'd suggest making an infopass appointment at your local USCIS office to inquire on the status.

I agree with Don, because something may have come up during the process that could be easily fixable.

But, In my case, At our Infopass appt, All we got was the same old song and dance about being hung up at the FBI for the Namecheck. We have been in Namecheck since 10-2004.

  8. Sounds like a stalled Name Check at the FBI, I have read cases where getting someone involved like senator's office to make inquiries of the FBI got things rolling, the case for some reason was misfiled, and stalled at the FBI.

I would be shaking some trees now, a nice letter or call to your senator's office, may get some satisfaction.

Thank you, and Yes, I already have. Senator can hurry USCIS but their hands are tied with the Namecheck. FBI isn't going to be hurried.

  9. Nothing has changed. The officer at Infopass said that we were still waiting for the Namecheck to clear. That is 27 months since we applied for the AOS. She told us that our fingerprints were good till April and then we would have to have them re-done. I am going to have to apply for AP for my wife, That is another $170.00. I guess they don't know that we are poor!

I know how lucky that I am to have my wife by my side, but let me tell you something that only the Longtimers can tell you. The longer you are in this process, the more you have to swallow their Crap, and the more I have to swallow, the more cynical I become about the process! Constantly having to pay fees, and for WHAT? Just so I can sit here and wait some more. Only the Gov't could get away with this, Anybody else would be out of business.

I am up to my nose in their crap!
