  1. AOS is mailed to the Chicago PO Box, if you sent it there then you should be fine. If you sent for EAD before did you send it to the service center that has jurisdiction over your area using Code (a )(9 )? This will result in the longer EAD with expire the same as the I-94, better than the (c )(6 ) one filed for with or after AOS filing. USCIS P.O. Box 805887 Chicago, IL 60680-4120 crapola! i think i'm screwed then...i filed EAD like 4 days before i sent the AOS stuff and i sent the AOS docs to chicago. does that mean i'm going to get a return mail, or will they forward it (we live in a perfect world, right?) to my local center?
  2. i got the EAD/biometrics thing done much quicker than i thought...like a few weeks after I mailed the i765. but, the check for AOS/i485 still has not posted. i'm wondering if it was sent to the wrong office. i thought it was supposed to go to the chicago office, but it seems like everyone is posting that theirs went to their local in-state office. which did you guys send to?
  3. how long after you sent your AOS in until your check cashed?
  4. cool, thanks. how long after biometrics before i765 is approved? Hopefully, you filed under ( c )(9), and not ( a )(6). The ( a )(6) is only good for the 90 days that you already have work authorization for, but the ( c )(9) is usually filed with the AOS application. About a month for us between bio-metrics and getting the card. I think I did c(9). I think the a6 and the 90 days work authorization is for k1, not k3 which is what i am. Yes K-3 can do the EAD before AOS and get a card with expire same as I-94, K-3 can just get EAD, then SSN and wait until a few weeks before 2nd wedding anniversary to file for AOS this results in an un-conditional green-card, no conditions to remove. K-3s can get away with this because of the up to 2 year I-94 card, and 2 year K-3 visa, 2nd wedding anniversary always happens within the 2 year period of the K-3. thanks dantheman.... problem is that i already filed AOS to get the cheaper pricing. so i guess i will still have to remove the conditional status of her green card after our 2 year anniversary.

  7. So my wife just got her biometrics appointment (for I175) today and is schedule for 08/21. so what do they do exactly, just finger prints ??? I wasn't expecting this to happen so quick, so I've not had a chance to research this...
  8. just keep calling once a week after it's been 80 days and it'll show up. i think the normal wait is apprx. 90 days for what it's worth. good luck I realize that it usually takes longer, but some of the other folks that have already received their P-3's had their's sent from NVC a week or more after mine was sent from NVC....just one of those things I guess.... don't worry, i was in the same boat not too long ago thinking the same damn thing. just hang tight a little longer. if they have it, it will get done, and unless you have mafia in your family, it probably wont' take longer than the norm.

  10. Mine was about 1.5 pages long. Mostly paragraphs of text with some bullet points, so mine was fairly well documented. How we met and the duration of each stay in China was noted. Each event during those times was noted too, eg. engaged, married, wedding ceremony. I also included any forseeable concerns they might have in that timeline, just explaining our situation in moderate detail. Use exact dates, or at least the month and year of all events noted is my suggestion. Mine was typed. My wife and I signed it and dated it too. No notarization. They did ask for it at my wife's interview, so it's a good idea you create one.
  11. mine was never touched after it was approved until i just sent in my i765, which is done after she passes her interview and enters to the USofA. i cna't think of a good reason why it would be either, considering the evolution of the BS process.
  12. I thought it was Ernest T. Bass. Ernest Tubb probably died before you were born. He was a country music biggie back in the 40's & 50's. Actually, when I was a kid, my parents listened to alot of Country music and we always watched Hee Haw and anything having to do with The Grand Ole Opry. So I remember him from that plus just about any C/W awards show in the last 40 years mentions him at some point. He was very well thought of among his peers. I did see more of Ernest T. Bass though. i thought it was that geroge straight...all my ex's live in texas
  13. never heard of it previously either, buy my wife swears up and down cold water is bad for that unfortunate (not just for her) time of month. it's so crazy, she even thinks walking in the cold section of the supermarket can make your stomach upset. i'm going to send her to the funny farm if she keeps it up/!!
  14. wow, that's great. can i get a discount since we're such good friends and all? congrats to her!!

  16. I guess I'll be the first to give a big CONGRATS!!
  17. thanks dan...i'll get that document ready incase i do get an RFE. obviously i was just trying to beat the deadline. sirlancelot: no, i told the other dude in the other thread i sent out the i765 like he did(maybe i read his post wrong), not the AOS docs. i wanted to send that first, as i wasn't sure if i was going to send this AOS packet. turned out i did...just today on lunch break put it in a drop box before the 'mailperson' picked up from that box.
