  6. I'm not sure what you mean by his name isn't your average English American name. I'm assuming you're referring to his Muslin heritage. I feel somewhat nervous when people making such comments as I feel it promotes fear among the entire ethnic group - the Japanese perception after Pearl Harbor comes to mind. Personally, I feel bad not only for the soldiers and their families who are stationed at Fort Hood, who have been affected by this tragedy, but my heart also goes out to the shooter's family. For me, by reading various news posts, they seem genuinely surprised and shocked by the actions of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. I can't imagine what they must be going through. Don't get me wrong, this guy is a bad guy. He did a bad thing, and yes, he has a Muslim name. However, using general statements like that in support to your statement, makes me wonder a bit. Don't get me wrong Jimi, I'm not criticizing you, nor am I trying to change your views. You're entitled to what you want to believe. It is also possible that I have misunderstood what you wrote, and if I have, then I apologize. My daughter lives in Killeen right outside Ft Hood.

  9. We're on for November 10th. Our flights arrive, in Guangzhou, on November 8. I'm a nervous wreck, regardless of what I may have said, to the contrary! I know what you mean, I had the nervous jitters too when interviewing, my wife on the other hand was like an army soldier when it came to dealing with everything in Guangzhou. Maybe because she was a sergeant in the PLA. I called NVC and i have a interview date of Nov 30. It falls on a Monday. How important is ACH or is ACS just as good. I will need to notorize my AFFIDAVIT DESCRIBING RELATIONSHIP.

  16. We stayed at Mr. Yangs for a week (one of his apartments near the consulate building) before our interview on July 23, 2009. He reported 23 pinks for the people staying with him the week before us, a perfect record. For anyone, I would highly recommend Mr. Yang's apartment for the interviews. He helped get us to GUZ (Yi from Chengdu and me from HK), his apartments were in or near the consulate building, he promptly provided service for problems (ever get locked out of an apartment with no cellphone in a strange city where you cannot speak a word of the native language and do not know where the landlord lives? It is amazing how many people in GUZ know Mr. Yang!), he personally resolved a medical issue and went with us 4 times to medical office until the issue was concluded days later, he provided assistance on interview questions, he allowed us to use his printer and copier, and he gave information on local places to make life easier here (supermarket, restuarants, travel options, etc.). Although his apartments are not five star, his service and knowledge of this whole visa process make him a resource of incredible measure. Frankly, if it had not been for his assistance and personal, immediate attention to a small issue we had, Yi would have been in blue slip hell for the next year. Now, thanks to him, we are able to move on with our lives as a family. And in the most honorable of ways, he did not ask for a single penny or favor for his trouble. Mr. Yang, and his family, are a rare find in this visa business, particularly when you see all those opportunist visa sharks in the consulate building looking to prey upon the emotions and finances of troubled loved ones. I will, and have already, recommend the Yangs to anyone for this final leg of the visa journey. Yi and Eric What is the Phone number to the Yang's? THe number on this site did not work
