I took a direct bus to "Yantian-ShenZhen 'ShaTouJiao' Border Crossing",about 20 minutes and $30HK. On the China side,just take local bus,about 20 minutes,to anywhere in ShenZhen. YanTian ShaTouJiao is clean,quiet,and has several very nice hotels right in front of the border crossing. Good food. Nice walking. A lot less hectic than the other border crossings. Good luck!!!

Yes,if they are swinging sticks and rocks around,you wont want to be there. GO FORBID you are driving a Japanese car,or in a Japanese restaurant. I was in JingHong once for "Water Splashing Festival",people driving around in water trucks spraying EVERYBODY with water,and folks walking around with buckets throwing water everywhere. Even some big plastic toy water guns. OK,they saw me trying to sneak over to get some cigarettes and use the phone,and they all ganged up on me! Ever see how Chinese people operate a car horn,or and "button operated" door or lift? A cell phone? Absolutely NO patience,when they get their mind set on something. (Notice the treeless landscape in China,and their immediate neighbors) Its either ON or OFF,with no middle. They push push push push push,until they get action. I would hate to see how they operate automatic weapons. If its anything like the way the use car horns,GET OUT FAST.

If I play a Three Stooges,or Marx Brothers or some such slapstick,my wife laughs uncontrolably. She likes modern TV and comedy DVDs also. One thing,if jokes are being translated on a Seinfeld DVD,the punch lines are simplified,and the concept of "Soup Nazi" is not explained,rather they would just call that guy "really mean cook". The joke still works. Much like it is IMPOSSIBLE to explain most jokes to deaf people,because they dont understand the humorous "word play". Rhyming also has a lot to do with telling jokes. I never had any problem explaining a joke in person to Chinese speaking people.They get it.

If you are having problems with the USA Visa,and you really want to be married to this person,then I suggest you just get married. It WILL make the Chinese Visa easier on you. You will be "married",so you will feel more free to make travel back to the USA alone if needed. I stayed 2 years in China using SEVERAL 30 Day Tourist visas and extensions,and going to HongKong and Thailand every 3 months to get a new visa. All this time I was afraid to return to America because we never could know when we would get the interview. Just get married and feel like a human being again.

I forgot to mention,receiving this Green Card is the FIRST CONTACT from them since OBAMA was elected President. Thanks Obama!!!

Sent the "Fiance Visa" application in about Sept 2005. The Green Card arrived in the mail box (Tampa area) November 2008. After arriving in America,the only office visit we made was for fingerprinting. Then the EAD Card came in the mail. Now the Green Card has arrived in the mail with no office visit or interview or telephone calls.

I think the best thing to do is get her in touch with a Chinese speaking person who can explain her options to her. Of course we have not been told of any abuse,and maybe she actually likes the guy,but there are RED FLAG situations going on here. I want her to know her choices. She could stay in our house,but I think its very important that an informed person explain all of her options to her BEFORE she decides to go anywhere. If he keeps her isolated and she never learns English,she wont get her Green Card ,then she could get deported. She was instructed at her most recent Green Card interview "You need to learn better English in order to get a Green Card". She is being isolated from work and has no opportunity to learn English. Thats enough for me to see this is 40 miles of dirt road.

He gives her $40 per month to spend in the Chinese supermarket (2 X $20 per month) She has her EAD Card,yet she is not permitted to take any job outside the home. Her English is very poor. Some neighbors ocassionally giver her meat and vegetables,but when he eats it,he never questions where it came from,he did not pay for it and he never gives her any money. She only cleans the home and does the yard work. She was turned down for the Green Card,because she was not able to answer any of the questions,because her English is so poor,due to her being isolated in the home. Even after all this time,the way they communicate in the home is very primitive. She does not know her husbands salary. THIS IS ALL DISTURBING TO ME AND MY WIFE! We have been monitoring this for several months,and these are the most recent things she is telling my wife. No Green Card,no job,no money for a ticket to China and no hope of exposure to the English language. I think she needs: 1)To understand her rights. 2)Have a CONFIRMED "safe haven" she could go to if she ever decided to make like a tree and leave. I had a bad feeling about this dude the minute I saw him. This dude is a real piece of work! (Met them in the supermarket.Strong looking honest north country woman.If you ever saw this dude,I dont think he is capable of having an "online relationship",unless he paid someone to do it for him. Real trashy dude.You know,just look at his car and you can tell what kind of dude he is.Its not possible any American woman would be attracted to him.Creepy dude.)

Most Chinese are in a rural situation,and many intelligent country folks can still be a bit "superstitious",so they easily fall prey to fast talking city slickers. How many times have you seen some country bumpkin in front of a Chinese bus station,getting duped in to that 3 card sidewalk gambling trick? The oldest trick right out of an episode of The Three Stooges,yet there are an endless supply of "easy marks" flooding in from the farm ready to be taken. There are just TOO MANY vulnerable people in China,uneducated rural folks.
