  1. We had our interview on 07/07/2005 and just received a notice on 10/25/2005 from the Boston office stated that my wife will get her Greencard in 6 to 8 months. It also noted that if she needs to travel or proof of residency, she can schedule an appointment with one of the officer.
  2. Hello all, it feels so good to be back from a long absent. We got married and moved to an apartment. And now it's time to file our second set of paperworks. I noticed that for K-1 we don't need the medical exam. However, we do need to have a Vaccination form. My question is where can I find a Civil Surgent to have him sign the V-form? And do we have only 90 days from the time my fiancee entered the U.S to file the I-485?
  3. Dave, it's so sad to hear your story. Perhaps there's still a little chance you guys can work this out. Think about all those lonely nights you two had spent away from each others. Do you know where she's staying in Houston? Do you still love her? How do you feel if she's really gone back to China? Please do whatever you can to try to save this relationship. Keep in mind that there's nothing you two can't fixed. Give her a call if you can and at least give it a last try before she's really gone. Good luck
  4. I was in the exact same situation. Depressed, lack of focus, couldn't concentrate.... for a while. I waited 18 months, and it was the longest 18 months. All I can say is just try to think positively. I know it's hard to do sometimes, but things can always be worse. Keep your faith and spend a little bit more times on things you enjoy doing. Before you know it, your wife's here.
  5. Actually I blew it. I paid $10.00 for Ttlee_99's answer. Thanks anyway.
  6. Can someone clarify the difference between these two forms? Which one do we need to file for a K-1 visa? Or we have to do both? Thank you
  7. Patrick, I know your feelings and I am sure many of the CFL members do as well. My only advice to you is to keep the faith and fight it until the end. Because it will be well worth it when it is all over.
  8. Congratulations! Hope you can get your family to the States ASAP.
  9. Just wanted to share my adventure with all the CFL members. I am pretty sure you all have guessed right, I couldn't sleep on the night of 09/01. In fact, I was so anxious and nervous that I had to checked the UAL website every 15 minutes just to be sure the flight did leave as scheduled. Li's flight from LAX to BOS was scheduled to take off at 10:10pm CA time, which is 1:10am eastern time. I called the UAL's customer service at about 1:30 to make sure Li did indeed catch the right flight. The lady on the phone was so nice. But, because of the new policy imposed by the government, she could not give me any passenger name on any of the flight. I thanked her but also expressed my frustration. It's now 2:00, the call that I made now came back and bit me in the ass, wondering if Li knows how to find her way to the connection flight. Realizing nobody can help me at this moment, went back to bed and of course tossing and turning for the next 60 minutes. Finally 3:00, I decided to take a cold shower and again turn to my computer and again, my fingers somehow knows what to do and slowly but surely, typing in yet again, UAL.COM. Here I am again, for the 27th times, checking on the flight info from LAX to BOS. Funny that it tells me the same thing over and over again, "depart 10:10 and arrive 6:13am", no more details. 3:30, made a big cup of ice coffee and my parents woke up and we are on our way to the airport at about 3:50. It was rainning so hard that I could barely see the road. But that didn't slow me down. Wanted to be there before Li's arrival, I had one eye on the clock and the other on the road. Thanks to the new tunnel, we arrived at Logan at 5:30. Still about 45 minutes before her flight's arrival. At this time, I was totally exhausted, checking the arrival monitor every 5 minutes and praying that it won't change the flight status to "delay". 6:00 now, only 13 minutes away, and my life will be changed forever. That probably was the longest 13 minutes I had to wait as long as I can remember. It's 6:15, and the flight status on the monitor changed to arrived. Standing in front of gate C11-24, waiting anxiously for Li's appearance out of the gate. 10 minutes passed by, no Li's yet. Ran down to the Baggage claim area, no one around. Ran back up to the gate, still no Li. 6:20, ran back down again to the baggage claim, still no one, again had to ran back up to the gate, still no Li. My mind is completely in disarray, thinking about twenty five thousand different things at the same time. Ran over to the ticket counter and hoping someone can look up Li's name in the database. Too many passengers are waiting to be checked in, no one can help. Ran back to the gate, still no Li. To make matters worse I had to deal with my parents questions such as "is this the right gate, why don't you go over there "to the arrival monitor" to make sure this is the gate?" Sooooooo frustrated, 6:55, again ran back down to the baggage claim. And there she is, holding a cellphone "from some stranger" and calling my house to make sure I did indeed remember to come to the airport to pick her up. At this moment, I was thanking everyone that I see at the airport. Even the airport janitor. 18 months of waiting is finally over.
  10. I used WesternUnion. Once it approved, usually 10-15 minutes process, the fund is available within 30 minutes to be picked up. And it only cost $12.00 to send $1000.00.
  11. Li and myself would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the CFL, especially PJ, Sir Owen, Mick, Donoso and too many names to list here. I don't know if you realized how much this board had help us through out this entire ordeal. I can honostly say that without this board, it will be a 100 times tougher to make it through. When I joined this board back in March of this year, I was emotionally and physically drained at the time. When we first found out our case had been put on hold back in April, I remembered Li and I both were crying on the phone. I decided to post it on this board to try to get a little support. And support indeed, I was overwhelmed by the supports from so many members, it really made a difference. It was like all in a sudden, I have regained my strength and willing, most importantly ready to face the reality and to fight this battle, knowing that we have so many combats ready to fight alongside with us. We have finally made it through after 17 months of struggle. Thanks again everyone. Tung and Li
  12. Just got off the phone with my honey, the visa is finally in her hands. Now is time to find her a ticket to the US. Any suggestions out there? I would love for her to fly from GZ to either Boston or New York, no connection. Please advise.
  13. My fiancee finally received my so called "Global Express Mail" on 08/14/03, 12 days after I've sent it. The thing is she also received the other two regular mails that I've sent out two days after the Express Mail, on the same day. The difference is the Express Mail costs $19.00 and the two regular mails cost only $2.30 each. In addition, the regular mails were delivered to her two hours before the Express Mail. You make the call when it comes to sending mail to China. Just an FYI
  14. My fiancee will be leaving for GZ tomorrow and planning on picking the Visa (hopefully) on Monday. I was wondering what should she bring with her other than the specific items GZ are asking for? Would she be getting the Visa the same day? Thank you so much
  15. Has anybody send Global Express Mail to China via USPS? I sent my package out last Saturday and it has not shown up yet. I wonder how long does it usually take? The clerk at the post office told me it should take only 3 to 4 days. Since it has been a week, I am starting to worry.
  16. He has his right to post as long as it's within the guideline. But we have our rights not to read his post. If anyone feels offensive about OF's posts, than I suggest you not to read them.
  17. I sent one out last Thursday, still waiting for response.
  18. I am totally agree with Mick. Rob, send emails, phone calls ect.. to GZ and tell them the situation you have in hands. Again, there's nothing in China money can't fix. But I would definitely try all you can to contact GZ to state your problem and let them know so may be they can expedite your case.
  19. It took 3 hours to get through at LAX? I am worry about my fiancee. Because I planned to have her fly from GZ to LAX and Boston. There are 3 hours in between flight. What about if she missed her connecting flight from LAX to Boston?
  20. Happy B-Day Don. Go ahead and make a wish. It will come true very soon.
  21. What is the best way to get air ticket from China to the US? I mean should I purchase the ticket in US and have it mailed to China or purchase it in China? Is there any direct flight (non-stop) from Beihai or Guangzhou to Boston? Thank you so much
  22. Thank you so much for all your supports. It has been a great struggle and thank god we are close to the end of it. Having said that, it's not over yet. The struggle continue until she's right here next to me. Does anyone know is there a way to send overnight mail from US to Beihai China? I called Fed-Ex and they do not have service in Beihai. Thanks again Here's our timeline: March 2002- Filed for K1 May 2002- First NOA July 2002- Second NOA November 2002- Third NOA December 2002- Interview August 2003- EMS Received
