  1. what is the easiest fastest way to renew a US passport, here in the US?
  2. Thanks all for the helpful links and info. I dont have any imediate plans of teching english in China as of yet, but wanted to get feedback and info about the possibilities. My Chinese wife has been here in the U.S. for 2 years and is happy but........ she really misses her family in China and her heart will always be in China. So we might end up living there at some point???? Teaching english seems to be the obvious job for an American that cant speak any Chinese I dont have any formal training as a teacher or any degree yet. Is there any certificate programs that are valid when looking for teaching jobs? my wife has a place to live in china so i would be looking for teaching work in a specific city. any other comments or feedback would be appriciated
  3. hi all, i know there are previous threads about teaching english in china. I am looking for current info about teaching english as a second language in china. especially for a non- professionals with no formal degree or expierience as teachers, is it possible? are there online certificates or cources anyone recomends? also any ones expierience teaching english in china. thanx
  4. Gerard, sorry, to hear of your difficult situation. First get yourself a good Lawyer and begin to document everything that has happened, get all your documentation together and sequence of events. Also comming to the US on a K-1 visa is only a conditional status and there is still proof required that it is a legitimate relationship such as an interview for AOS . Another condition is to remain married with (the same person) for 5 years, if these conditions are not met it could be proven as a fraudulent marriage. And she will in no way be allowed to stay in the U.S. As far as the claims of abuse i have heard rumors of this scam thats why you need a Lawyer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seek professional advice find a lawyer today
  5. hahaha.... she sounds like a normal chinese woman too hot, too cold, too hot, too cold........ and the picture thing i can really relate too, my wife inspects every picture and i have deleted a few myself my wife could really care less about the beach unless there is shopping there a good time for my wife is shoppping, food, shopping food, shopping, food, nap, shopping, food, nap i love her so, but when i go surfing i leave her at home, hahahhahahahah
  6. are there any members living in Flordia/ daytona-orlando area? just curious about what its like??? any asian markets, community, do you like the weather, cost of living, etc... we are in Los Angeles now and are considering a relocation to Daytona Beach just wanted to see if any members have any insight thanx so much, jm
  7. Talk about the rich, not relatively, I think Bill Gates is rich, Donald Trunp is rich, he has gold-plated bathtub, personal huge jet 727, many cool body guards.....( I just wish they could help the poor animals so that some of places don't have to kill the poor animals, I wish they could help the poor bone-left hungry babies in the world.) do I want the same, yes of course, but that's just something that is hard to come true, there is no sense to compare with, we have roof over the heads, we have a car to drive, we have every good supper, we have a nice family here, Im happy about what I have, I thank God about what he give, it is already much more than some. Being rich is not about how much you have aquired, it is about being content with what you alreadt have, its about gratitude! There are many ways that people can be rich its not those material things becouse when you think about it the best things in life are free at least thats what they tell us poor folks
  8. Thanks Trigg for that explination, my wife says that i had too much fun when i was young so i will be one of those you mentioned that will retire at the age of 500 if im lucky
  9. Hi Triqq, 20,000 RMB for one month in Zhanjing city is quite enough, you would live very comportably, if you already own a house in there, it would be very much better, I would say you two would live like queen and king. Even in Beijing 20,000 RMB for one month is too much enough. In Beijng my family's monthly expense was around 4000 RMB (we own the house) including everyting, so you can think 20,000 RMB a month. Thanks, I knew it would be enough but I wanted to know what style of life qwe would lead---doesn't sound to bad. If we decide to live there full time we would have around 42,000 RMB monthly. If we only stay in the winnter months we will have around 25,000 RMB--but it dosn't sound like we will be very hungry and neither of us will need to work. Comfortable life to Americans and Chinese are very different. Americans expect running water 24/7, Hot Water, indoor plumbing, cars, electricity all day and night, air conditioning, swimming pools, manicures, frapachino moca latte's......, etc.etc.etc. To Chinese in rural areas a simple roof over there heads is livin large! in large citys there are most modern convieniences but even some of these are not available in all homes. Also I hear in Beijing and Shanghai to buy a home is almost if not more expensive than homes in the U.S. So if you cant buy how much will rent cost???? Trigg I am interested to hear your plans for an income of 42,000 RMB and neither of your working? Are you planning retirement or wise investments???? just curious Becouse........ " I dont wanna work I just wanna bang on me drum all day"
  10. you are hopeless, And you no nothing of the AOS process and how difficult the adjustment is for people new to this country. Untill they get there stamp and green card they are in limbo!!! they are not treated as a resident in the U.S. and cant even travel or visit China to see there families, There is a huge culture shock our wives go through coming here to be with U.S. and leaving there country and familys behind. So your negative comments have nothing to add just plain bashing and selfishness so FO
  11. Congrats on passing the written drivers test thats a great accomplishment! As for teaching our wives to drive in my opinion its a really bad idea unless you have super human patience I found from expierience Chinese woman are the most determined species on the planet and they will not give up untill perfection is achieved this makes is dificult for us mortals Teaching your Chinese spouse to drive can cause alot of pain to you both. I found it much easier to hire a professional driving instructor for this mission My wife did complain at first about the high prices for lessons and how we could save money if i taught her to drive, but now she believes that it was a better choice to take the lessons. Also men be carefull not to teach your wives bad driving behavior like getting angry at stupid people on the road. I made this mistake of yelling at drivers calling them idiots and honking the horn. now my wife has learned these bad qualities from me they catch on quickly, hahahahahha
  12. Most of us can really understand your pain of being apart, that is no reason to condem someone elses dificulty and pain at a different stage of the immigration process. you will be there soon enough! The right thing to do would offer Lori an apology for such harsh words. Also there are guidelines for this site please read bellow! 13. all they should take at POE is the sealed envelope you recieved from your interview at GZ. You should still have all the other documentation including the medical booklet and that silly chest x-ray. my wife got her greencard this week and we still have that chest x-ray i quess it was not needed? maybe we can frame it as a decoration
  14. im puzzled you say they took all paper work? as far as i know the only thing they should take at POE is the sealed envelope your fiance' got at her interview in GZ. not all the crucial paper work leading up to your inerview. my fiance' did not even have this with her i always kept all documentation with me since i am the one filing the petition. sorry to hear your difficult situation if this is the case. good luck
