if you file in march, it would definitely be after summer (2010), or are you concerned about summer 2011? You should be able to beat the latter summer anyways. My K1 took 7 months. I have no idea how long a CR1 take. I seen some go in 5 months, and some go 12 months.

If I do not figure what went wrong, then applying again would be a waste of time. Kitchen sink I believe is in order. I spent alot of hours on it, read every post regarding sink information. 1 visit may be a weakness but not a red flag. I see some with 4 and 5 trips get white, some with 1 get pink. Income is close, but have very much in assets, maybe a weakness but not a red flag. Lack of Interview prep, is a bright red flag for sure. I am always looking for others prep and questions ask, as the interview are always changing.

K-1: I-129F: $455 Consulate: $131 (Soon to be $350) Adjustment Of Status: $1010 I-485 ($1596 ~ $1815) CR-1: I-130: $355 NVC I-864: $70 NVC Visa fee: $400 ($355+$45) ($825) Since CR-1 gets green-card on entry to the USA there is NO AOS ($1010 FEE) Correct if you are there at the time of denial if not add around $1500 to CR-1 for additional airfare flying/staying there to get married. K-1 $1815 CR-1 $2600 (approx) In either case it is a GOOD thing to visit China a few times to show a relationship, so the airfare is NOT a factor. I'm just answeing your fiscal argument, not that many think or did 1 visit/2 visits and got visa or not, it fiscal after initial denial, K-1 refile refile does not need you to go over over to marry, correct. If we accept visits after refile and/or being there for interview are of no value after refile, then K-1 Saves you money over CR-1. If I were to refile tomorrow with a K1 again, another trip to China would not be required according to rules, "Must have met in person within the past 2 years". But since the VO does not have to go by any rules, a white slip would be issued again. So in my next trip, February, I get married, and then file CR1, March. 1 more trip after that would would not be necessary I would think, but a good idea to do, but if the interview was in a summer month, a trip would be impossible. Anyone have a guess at what month would be the best choice to apply CR1 in order to get an interview after the summer months?...........

In my case, just lack of preparation just before the Interview. I really think you are putting to much of the blame on yourself,, we are all human and make mistakes. In order to have success next time, I must figure what the weak points were on this interview, what weak points may develop next interview, and how to prepare for next time.

Sorry to hear about your denial, we are in the same boat, we are waiting for our case to be returned to USCIS now. Our case was filed at the Vermont SC also, when I receive any further information I will pass this on to you and maybe this can help you out. Good Luck Believe it or not, that one question was enough for the VO to decide that you 2 weren't getting the visa that day. When my wife went for her K-1 last year (our first try at getting the visa) when the VO asked her what was my job she tried telling him that I drove a particular piece of equipment but there was no word for that in Chinese so she told him I drove a 'car'. He then asked her which post office I worked at and she couldn't remember the name and that was what she told him. He then pulled out a white slip and our Hell began. This time when she went back for our CR-1 interview she knew how to say the equipment's name in English AND the name of the office I worked at. They DID ask her these questions again as well as several others they had asked at the K-1 which she had answered correctly back then. But, the interview this time was conducted in English as they rope-a-doped her last time by conducting it in Chinese, and they had an interpreter there as a witness that she did not speak in English. You could go the K-1 route again but to tell you the truth I would do the CR-1. I think it sends a stronger message to the consulate AND in the end it is cheaper. I DO believe the one question did it. Days before the interview, my SO talked about she was going shopping to buy something to put on here Mother's headstone, since 27 December, 2006 was the anniversary of her Mother's passing away. At that moment I knew the Interview was in Trouble. I told her that her Mother had passed away in November 2007. 2007 is on the document. We had talked about this months ago, when she did not remember the date. I showed her a picture of the headstone, but no date on the stone. I DO believe if I am not with her at least a week before the next Interview to coach her, failure will be the outcome. The problem I have now is try to get an Interview date other than the Hot months. I would not survive the heat. I had a couple of difficult warm days in April there. Could not breath. Pretty much so,, Most of these people are city folks, and cant understand how country people live , how many of them you think have ever caught a fish, been on a boat, 4 wheeling, sitting on your tailgate and drinking a cold beer, or been in a fast car. We are all different and come from different areas, but we all seek a good woman in life, something these a holes will never understand. Thanks for info everyone. Since I have not found any Red Flags so far, I need to study my SO and my Weak Points. We both have been divorced long time, had SAME jobs, address, phone numbers, bank accounts, etc. many years. To me this would say, Stable people. We talked 11 months before I went to China, and got engaged, April 3 weeks. We have Patience. I thought our Weak Points were, only 1 trip to China, and $$ close to minimum, Wrong. Our, Downfall, was not communicating good with what is in the Kitchen Sink. All the folders had Simple Cover Letters, colored tabs, EOR letter simple with a couple of little thumbnail photos, good cummunacating logs and samples. All info very easy for the VO to read and understand. Problem, my SO did not understand or remember some of the information. I do not remember some of the info, and I have spent a lot of hours preparing the info.

Yes,,,the CR-1 is the next plan. Heading to China soon, when the weather breaks. I was a diemaker many years, good pay, hard on the eyes though. Quarter inch,,,,that is good. Try, .0047,,,,thickness of most paper.

Just talked with my SO. All I can figure out is, she did not understand what my job title was in 1994, "Supervisor/diemaker". I be the VO does not know what a diemaker is. Does anyone here know what a diemaker is? Difficult to believe we receive a white slip for 1 misunderstood question. The VO has the power to deny just because his breakfast was too cold. Just have to start all over.

Buddy, you can go the K-1 route again, but, you will need to find out what was wrong the first time in your case. That means waiting for your case to get back to your service center, waiting for them to review it, waiting for them to "maybe" send you a letter stating the charges against you two and giving you a month or so to rebut those charges. Waiting for the service center to review your rebuttal. Then, if they agree with you, you will be waiting for them to send your case back to the NVC, who will look at it again and send it to Guangzhou, and then you will wait the current amount of time it takes for GUZ to open your case and send you a P-3, P-4 and interview date. You could call DOS(202 663 1225) to find out some info on your case. if it was a blue, you will have another chance in GUZ soon. if it was white, I would at least try to email GUZ (http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/contactiv.html) to explain your relationship (GUZ more likely would make some note on your case record when you do that, you could also request their supperviser's review on the case, also have your congress office to write to GUZ, the goal by doing these is, if it was white, to keep your case in GUZ, at least you tried, good luck. Wow, not good, we are up next, and i think we are ready 100% now, I just found out we needed chinese name and the telegraphic code, which I was able to copy her and her boy's name and paste it to a chinese commerical code site and it gave me all of the codes, so I email them to my finace, I will talk with her at 6:30 in the morning her time, as she will be going to Guangzhou tomorrow, I only worry about this CCP thing, she is well prepared, but they still may give her blue for additional background check. Gary, you have a couple of months to get UN-OLD before your SO get here. Before I went to Chongqing in April, I walked very much everyday for a few months so I could almost keep up with my SO.
