  1. Clark, Before you apply, just keep reading, and reading here. It may take a while to get a good understanding of what the Guangzhou Visa Officer will REALLY require. The basic requirements will work for some people that are lucky to get a fair Officer, but if you have the bad luck to get a Butthead Visa Officer, you will need 110% in requirements. It is up to the Visa Officer's ""Discretion"", meaning his/her, ""Personal Opinion"" of getting a Visa. Communications between you and your Fiancee can be very important. Start saving, and documenting (date-time) emails, chats, anything showing communicating. Read here why some of us got a denial on our first Interview, and you get a good idea how to improve on your situation. Here you will see the term, "RED FLAG", that is something that will get a denial. Once you take care of all the Red Flags, you can think of what may be "weak points", where you can make improvements, such as better photos, letters from family members, an extra trip, etc. Just keep reading here, and asking questions, Good Luck, ...Bob....
  2. Hey Robert H, if you get a chance, read the post by Joe 33.
  3. Congratulation. Your timeline answers a question I ask in Dec 09, after my Fiancee received a white slip, that , "Had anyone just refiled a 129F after receiving a white slip, rather that going with the I-130". Best of Luck...............
  4. I was thinking of buying a small portable TV for my Fiancee in China, since we will be apart another year. I am looking at 15 inch with DVD player. This would be something she could bring back here later. I bought her a 15 inch laptop last month, which she is very happy with. I sent her the $$, since the laptop was the same price there as here. I was wondering if the small TVs cost near the same as here. Found a 15" with DVD at Walmart, $170.
  5. I wood if'n I had a TV. You could buy one at a flea market for about $20. You could buy one at Yard Sale for about $10. You could get one for free if you ask the guy at the land fill to save one for you. People throw away good TVs all the time. I gave away three 19 inch TVs, could not see them very good anymore.
  6. You must be dealing with Verizon or one of it's subsidiaries. I thought they just pulled this crap with FIOS TV. I ordered two Chinese channels which were to be 10 per month and my bill went up twenty. Needless to say, Verizon no longer supplies our house with television. I switched to Dish Network. They have always treated me right and the bill is always exactly as advertised. I looked at Direct, they even offered me $100 dollars to switch to them, but Dish had the right package. The other turn off was DirectTV is advertised on www22.verizon.com under TV. This link to the same company I was throwing out my house, really turned me off. I also get Cinemax for .01 per year, that's right a penny per year for paying my bill by automatic payments. Once it is said and done with the promotion finished in a year, I will pay about the same as Verzion where I got basic 200 regular channels and 2 chinese channels. Except now I will have 200 channels, HBO, Showtime and Cinemax for two rooms with only one set top box. The final crowning point is my bill is always exactly as it is advertised and what charges customer service tells me. Never any thing extra. Got to say, I like Dish and will always be a loyal customer from now on. We decided to try KylinTV for the Chinese channels. It comes down the internet. It irritates my wife that in the middle of a great show she sees a bar in the upper right that says buffering. So this is no better than snagging videos off the internet. We signed up for a year, once this is done, we will probably switch the Chinese channels to dish. The Great Wall package does not have the same channels as offered by KylinTV, but at least you get to watch them without interuption. Again, another reason Dish wins my vote. Until recently I had Directv for many years, less channels, more cost. They went from $24 to $58.79 for basic. Telephone here is tied up with Sprint, Embarq, Century Link, or whatever name they go by this month. My neighbor has Dish for a couple of years with no complaints.
  7. Tsap, and Chilton, you guys need to watch some Jerry Springer and get good education on what really goes on in the world.
  8. Most of the time I get one channel or another, but it is poor quality. It is necessary to reprogram the input almost everyday also. DirectV is $58.99 for basic after the first year. Comcast cable has a deal for TV and internet for $65, but will be years before any cable gets installed. The telephone company advertise good deals on TV, phone, and internet, but the final total in reality is very expensive. I added DSL, $24.95, to my phone, but my bill went up $43.95. I can add on TV to the phone, $14.95 advertised, for a reality cost of $38.95, so all together around $100 advertised for TV,internet, and phone, which may or may not include the government permission taxes, federal, state, county, city, town, boy scouts, PTA, dog catcher, 911 operators, Va Dept of Transportation, Interstate access, Federal service, non-tel surcharge, partial non-tel surcharge, etc.
  9. Here in the hills of Virginia ,with the new digital tv signal, reception is very poor. I was wondering, does China have analog or digital tv broadcasting.
  10. Just goes to show you our government is good at spreading BS. Power plants spends alot to keep chemicals out of the air. Putting these waste in a place other than storage, will be a disaster waiting to happen. This waste should be put back in the deep ground where it came from.
  11. I jes must be lucky. The lil' mail order bride makes me food to die for on a hot plate (and quick too) with a regular hood fan. I told her to get a stove when she was designin' the home but she said no needa. Mebbe she ain't Chinese I'll have to look closer to the stamp on her tiny mail order hiney. tsap seui Sometimes those "Made in China" stamps are small. You may need good reading glasses to read the stamp.
  12. So the Guz Visa Officers are looked down on, have a third-rate assignment, something young VOs have to SUFFER through for a few years at the very start of their careers. It is less a training assignment than a form of hazing. This article may give us a better understanding of the enemy, "the VO". Third-rate assignment, Suffer, Hazing.

"Mental disability" is a poor choice of words. The WAY, or the SKILL, a person and their SO communicate is not as important as the fact that they CAN and DO communicate. The way my SO and I talk does not look so great in type, but we understand each other. Nothing wrong with using broken english, non native english, code works, texting, or sign langquage. We that are unfortunate to be on the denied Visa list are trying to understand what the Visa Officer FEELS (personal opionion), is important in communication skills. Some VO will pink slip someone with 5% communications skills, where as other VOs will deny someone with 50% communication skills. So in my next sample sheets of communications, I will be more careful as to what and how the samples will appear to a VOs personal opinion of my SO and my ability to communicate. .. ,,,
  14. $200 is a small price to pay, compared to a denial, and starting over with another 1 year wait, plus the expense. Some one with much experience as a good attorney, or some one like the Yangs, may spot one or more little points that may help. Wishing the best of luck for you and Hui.................Bob........
  15. The attorney's helper told us that there is a good chance they will interview both of us and he also told us of a case where the husband said last night at her mother place and the wife awnsered 2 days ago at the hotel. The visa was returned. The day before the interview Tuesday we practiced some of the questions and we made love Monday night so that was the awnser she had memorized. But that Tuesday night before the interview we also made love in the morning. I waited at the counsulate from 7AM she comes out at 1130AM I thought she was done but she told me they were on a lunch break. When we were returning to the consulate after the lunch break she asked me do I still say Monday night was the last time we made love. I told her no forget what you memorized we made love last night you tell the trueth. A couple hours later when she came out to get me they asked me that question and they asked her that question it was shortly after that we got the visa. So knowing that played a big part in us getting the visa. *****Congrats******......What is the Visa Process coming too, seems very personal the questions they ask you. What is in the future for interviews, them wanting to see X rated photos of 2 people together? Best of Luck...................Bob...................
  16. Even with Yahoo translator, you will be missing a lot. No matter how confident you are that you understand, you will be missing things. May I suggest that you find a person that is bilingual to talk to your SO and get the details. In order to file the CR1, you need to have the utmost confidence about what happened at the interview, before you file so you can address it with the new petition. It is very important you do this accurately so when the USCIS approves the new petition, it serves as a rebuttal to GZ's findings. GZ will have to look for something new to deny you again. Good luck!! We do miss alot in translations, but I ask the same questions several days and different ways. I ask her, "was the VO a man or a woman". Her answer was "yes".
  17. Congrats on getting a PINK. I think age did not matter to your VO at that given day, at that given hour.
  18. You will probably find that you will be learning more details about what happened as time goes on. I was still finding out things about the interview 2 years after we got white. If you do not speak Chinese and your SO does not speak English then details of the interview can be very sketchy at best. I seem to learn more details ever day or so. With the language difference, it does take a couple of chat sessions to get a better idea of the details. I use the Yahoo translater for the difficult chat sessions. Similar when trying to communicate with people here. I took a stray dog to the dog pound. The lady there wanted to know my 911 number. Took a minute or so to figure out that she wanted my home address.
  19. Congrats,,,,,and thanks for posting information. Best of Luck...
  20. This is the impression she got from the VO. The VO officer mention my white beard in a negative way as near as I can figure.
  21. yea, they should know about gray and white hair.
  22. Got another bit of information today. The VO did not like the photos submitted at the interview, or mostly did not like my white beard according to my SO. My beard has been white along time. My SO does look alot younger than I do. We are 13 years different. In some of my photos I do look like a Fat Old Man. Does it matter that I am 61, healthy, 167lbs, can split firewood with a sledge, use a chain saw for hours, ride my ATV like a bat out of Hell, or ride my Goldwing 4000 miles in 11 days. I thought what is in my Heart and Mind, being honest, is more important than the way I look in photos. So an important lesson I learned today, Be careful of content of Photos. Use "Just for Men" hair color, flattering cloths, select the best photos, etc.
  23. It sounds like their typical BS Form Letter. I notice that from NOA1 to NOA2, sometimes people found it necessary to contact their congressman to get the government off their slow butts. Good Luck. Bob.....
  24. My CR1 took 16 months. You are right, no one knows how long it takes. This is why I considered filing K1 again. If I applied K1 today, would possible have an interview in 8 months. If I applied for CR1, would have interview who know when.
