    Mr Yangs

it is located right next to the consulate. Go out the front door and turn right. At the corner go right, immediately turn right again into the door way. There it is. You have gone less than 200 steps from the front door of the consultant and the door to the hotel building. Alot of information in the GUZ info part of the board under the P-3 interview section.
  2. They also said that the half million was only the start and as the need is better known more money will be given. I heard that response right after the quake annoncement. Plus, I heard Bush express his sorrow and prays for the victims.
  3. We only filled out the english copy and mail it back right away.
  4. Congratulations!!!! Now you can relax.
  5. Our biometric appts were just on Saturday morning. That worked out good for us.
  6. well said.... : ) We are still waiting also. I have not received any emails, so applied one month before, but most likely still behind. That is normal for our timeline. Since she is here, I do not worry like before.
  7. My understanding is that for K1 they can work as long as their I-94 is valid. They need the EAD for long term work. The I-94 is only valid for ~3 months after entry. Than they need the EAD to be legal.
  8. Maybe start with a student visa. Can he get into a US college? Once he gets admited and with you and his father sponsering him for the money you might be able to get a student visa.
  9. This thread with attached threads may be of some help ?? http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28675 I have been planning on this for some time now. We are going to just pay the extra $$ for a couple of additional bags checked on China Southern to LAX. While fees are up for extra bags, it is still cheaper--more conveniant compared to any air frieght for the size/weight. Mostly clothing and small personal items....two bags each ticketed passenger, plus the medium carry-on bag. I will travel light this trip and allow 1.5 of my checked bag quota for their stuff. Then just pay for one or two extra bags, for any overflow. BTW, it is cheaper to buy extra luggage (bags) over there, than here in the US. We go to the luggage wholesale mall in GZ near the leathergoods wholesale outlet stores, where you can buy direct and get a 30" pullman, for about half the price of a venue like Luggage Online in the States. She will leave furniture, tv, appliances, etc in her apt in GZ, and her family will manage all, until our return trips over time. Lao Po, daughter, and me, will end up with six large checked bags, three carry-on's and then the one or two extra checked bags. When I head on over for her interview, I will drive on down to L.A., leave my truck with my son and he will then meet us with my F-350, on our return into LAX; therefore, I will be able to haul all the bags to our hotel, for our week-long stay in SoCal and then easily get them on home, up to NorCal, later in the week. I have elite status on Northwest, so i loaded up the last two trips i made and brought over as much as possible, free for me. They still paid a little when they came, but we brought most of our stuff over that way. Her brother than got the rest out of her house and drove it all back to his area.
  10. Kids can work in the US, but thier hours should be limited to just 20 per week. Plus, their parents and school must sign off. Than when they turn 16 they can work more hours. Even at 16 the hours are limited during the school year. This assumes everyone follows the law.
  11. Hakka resturants are very popular in Taiwan right now. I have been to one near Hsinchu - the science park. The tables are all rough hewed wood plank. The food is mostly boiled veg and meats. I liked it; tehy reminded me of the my grand parents old mountain homes.
  12. You can her new name added to the passport at the chinese consulate. Can you do this by mail or an agency? any suggestions Normally, you have to go there. I am not sure if an agency can do this.

  14. Quite a few windows, maybe around 8 or so if i remember correctly.
  15. It sounds like she is really bouncing back fast.
  16. There are several types of Lasik tools. The wavefront analysis tool can correct for the non-normal curvature of the eye. You might want to check into which generation of the tool they have. Interesting to know... she just called and they gave the ok to do the surgery... within the hour... Keep my fingers crossed. Good luck, you should know in a few days how well it worked.
  17. A few other exception; places like Switzerland and some others. Just look. Most will require a visa.
  18. I have explained to my wife and daughter that America is very rule oriented place. Rules are made and followed, we must do things in a orderly fashion. Most Americans, at least midwesterns, will stand in line and wait till their turn. I really wanted to stress that we must do things in a certain order. Doing it chinese way will not work in US. Now you can always hear exceptions to the rule, but in the US most people wait their turn.
  19. I find it interesting how they build all these tools. Plus, what is the testing they do for each. I was in Shanghai once and we stoped to let a TCM docter look at me and she looked at my hand with an electrical probe that would shock you. Normally no feeling but some times strong shock. She would record on what part of the hand you feel each shock. she made her diagnoses from that and the pulses she measured. Her descriptions matched my US docter that needed treadmill and EKG and many others tools. She mixed up some mixture that allowed me to get off my heart med and fixed the issue. I had my US docter check me without my heart med and everything fine.

  21. That is why you do yoga, it is the Dao, a path to travel. You never reach the end, and never measured yourself against others just do it. If no flexibility today than maybe more tomarrow.
  22. Nautilus always stressed the 4 second push and 10 second release. A lot of work has been done to show the advantage of the slow lift and release for strength improvement. Combined with Yoga it should really help you. Right now I only go to Yoga one night a week, in my old town i was able to 3 nights a week. They don't have Nautilus here, but I've used that in the past... I tend to mix between high set repetition, resistance training (slow on the down--fast on the up, and regular sets. but I'm not interested in strength anymore, I'd rather be flexibly stronger). They yoga is much more difficult than I expected, meaning strength-wise, not just postures; kind of strength balancing. I'm hoping to stick with this as I don't have the energy to get up so early to do tai chi.. so I've decided to drop that idea; seems my clock has truly turned around; I'm anti-morning here now! Do 10 or more sun salutations and that will give you a good start to the work out. Plus, they have few othes that will give you a good strength building with blance. I greatly imporve my fitness just with yoga, including cardio. Many people think Yoga does not help cardio but it does. My favorite is praying tree pose.

  24. I have always found Yoga class good for this. Even in the US yoga classes are mostly female. Plus, v-neck tops are great at yoga on during many of the poses.
  25. my wife always makes sure it is a double room with her on the next table.
