  1. Roger the middle initial was on the I-824, only slowed the CR-1. I called Zhen and woke her up, we were both crying! What else can you do? There are so many emotions! Mike & Zhen Roger, I tried to edit the second post, I was wondering if you will still be in China on 8/8?
  2. Hello Roger, thanks! I hope you get yours in 8 months also! Maybe we will be there for CR-1 and Chinese New Year! Mike & Zhen
  3. We finally got our interview date, 8/8/2007. Thanks for all the help, Mike & Zhen
  4. The K-visas don't fill in DS-230 part 2. Mike & Zhen
  5. David, I have been reading about the SS card, and I looked over the DS-230, part-2 the problem has been that most people don't answer the questions correctly. #33a. must be no; and yes, for the question do you want to be assigned a SS# . Also you must answer #33b. consent to disclosure with a yes. It also says if you don't receive your SS card with in 14 days after you enter the U.S. to go to your nearest SSA office and they can see if you have been entered into the system. If not, they will help get your card quickly. Mike & Zhen it also says over 75%, of those who fill out the form correctly, get their card within the 14 days!
  6. Hey TB, I see your question, not about you deciding she is not the right one for you, but worrying about your new wife's feelings, lonliness, or homesickness. I think your perseverance, has established a relationship that would make it easy, for her to overcome those feelings. She will be able to communicate with her family, and I presume visit, so she will find love much more important than location. Good luck, Mike & Zhen
  7. Mark, you need the NOA-2 Approval for the I-130. The I-130 and the I-129F should be approved together. The I-130 Noa-2 will stay that it is being held in the states for AOS, thus the need for the I-824. No fees are ever transferred! bye bye ! You could change you mind before you pay any bills for the CR-1, at the NVC. Looks I won't receive a bill until after the K-3 and arrival in the states You will be paying the $340 + $450 each, So far I have not seen any fee increases posted by DOS, Mike & Zhen
  8. the DS-156K isn't listed on the K-3 Appointment letter either! I am thinking DS-156 2 copies and DS-157 2 copies. Mike & Zhen
  9. If we knew in November what we know now, 20/20 hindsight we would have chosen the CR-1. Only file the I-130, and stick with it. We were hoping to have the I-130 catch the I-129F just like (NUWORLD, Mike), but they changed the proceedure, and we were in a catch - 22. Unknown territory, I filed the I-824. Now we will have the choice in the distant future. At least we will be together, Mike & Zhen
  10. David, thank you for clarifying my point. there is no one perfect answer, every couple must choose the path that is right for them. Our path has been evolving, and anyday it could be changed AGAIN, by proceedure, policy, and fees. It is a "crapshoot", we must choose and follow until the end. Right now, we will get the K-3! We are moving at a good pace. Everything else has been directed by the USCIS, DOS. We may not even get an approval for the I-824, because we have a K-3 interview. We don't know what they will tomorrow or the next day. Our $200 might be a complete waste of time. On the other hand, Zhen will be with me soon, and maybe the CR-1 will fit nicely into our shcedule for retuning to China to visit. We can also change our mind and file AOS in the states! Mike & Zhen
  11. In July the I-824 fee will increase to $340. Right now, if you go for the CR-1, straight I-130, it seems to be very close in time to the K-3 in GUZ. In some places the K-3 is much faster. If you file the I-824 as I have done, the first and only one here at CFL, you can see that the I-824 hasn't even been approved yet. It could take 6, or 8 mo.longer, maybe more! I think the new proceedure of holding the I-130 will get people to choose 1 visa or the other. Mike & Zhen
  12. You will have an interview, for AOS in the USA, or If you choose to return to China, you could have the CR-1 interview. We have been planning to return, but our I-130 is still being held at CSC pending my I-824 approval. We will be given our interview date any day. Mike & Zhen
  13. I thought I read that GUZ doesn't require the DS-156K for K-3. We have not received P-4 yet. Mike and Zhen
  14. Just wishing all you "fathers" a Happy Father's Day ! Mike & Zhen
  15. CT, your experience doesn't sound like the many others with Mr. Yang. You didn't even meet him from what I read, and he lives there, the office is in his home. He has personally met with everyone who has stayed with him. I know there are several entrances to the Gardens, and there have been others who have had a problem, but never with Mr. Yang! I am sorry for your bad experience. I hope you find out where you stayed so others can avoid the same mistake! Mike & Zhen
  16. I am hoping! Today they said the backround check was complete, and that I would get the interview date soon. We will see! Mike & Zhen
  17. Hello Carlos, welcome, we have are timelines in our signature, where is yours? We work together, and help each other with process, and the waiting. Good luck and a speedy pink slip to you. Mike & Zhen
  18. CONGRATULATIONS ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I hope ours comes so quickly! Mike & Zhen
  19. Hello, when you hear from DOS, that the P-3 has been generated or sent, you can send your pre-completed forms ASAP, and get in line for P-4, 10 days to 2 weeks earlier. This has been done successfully by many here at CFL and also many more at VJ. There are only 2 things to return, for P-3, DS-230 - part 1, and OF-169 you can send in the English or the Chinese, it doesn't seem to make any difference at all. What you should be concentrating on is the P-4 and preparation for the interview. We wish you all a speedy pink slip, Mike & Zhen PS: P-3 takes 10 days to 2 weeks to arrive by mail after it is generated
  20. Mark, I am not sure about the new fees and the CR-1, we got caught in the middle of a proceedure change (I-824), and now the fee increases are also coming! I am concentrating on the K-3 for now, and we will wait to see about the CR-1. When the I-130 is forwarded, maybe we will know more about how the fees will affect us. You will need the NOA-2, for the I-130 to file the I-824. The I-824 will cost $340 after July 29th. I hope you get your approvals vey quickly! Good luck! Mike & Zhen
  21. Hello, and good luck to you all! It sure would be nice if you all had timelines so we could see you progress. It would be easier to wait if we all new what was happening. We hope for a speedy end to the long wait for everyone, Mike & Zhen
  22. Hello Mark, If you have already filed the I-129F for K-3, then the question has been answered. You will get K-3. I am no expert on any of this process, but the rules are that your I-130 will be held in the U.S. until you file for AOS. In order for you to get the CR-1 visa, you must either only file the I-130 and wait for the CR-1, or if you have filed for K-3, you must pay $200 for the I-824 to have the I-130 forwarded to the NVC for CR-1 processing. This means you will have to wait even longer for the CR-1, or you can get the K-3, come to the U.S. and return to China for the CR-1 later. This is our choice, Mike & Zhen
  23. hello Mark, I hate to say it but 5 weeks won't be enough, the petitions will be connected before approval, and the I-130 will be held, I don't think you should worry about the CR-1, unless you want to cancel the I-129F. You will have to pay the new I-824 fee which is $340, I think, and wait for the I-130 to be forwarded. You will see how long that takes for me, before your approval. There are also fees with the CR-1! I am the first person here at CFL to have the I-824 come into play, If I new then, what I know now I would have filed for CR-1 only, but I had the I-129F ready and filed before I knew about the I-824. Now I am hoping to get the CR-1 6 months after the K-3. If that doesn't happen, then it will be a complete waste of money. Mike & Zhen
  24. Hello Mark, it is a very long wait for the CR-1 if you have filed for the K-3. We are hoping to get the CR-1 started before the Fee increases at the end of July. I paid the $200 for I-824, thinking that it would forward the I-130 quickly, but it is almost 3 months, and the I-824 has not been approved yet. If you want CR-1, now it is much quicker to only file the I-130. I think they are trying to eliminate doing double work for the petitioners/beneficiaries. We are hoping to return to Liuzou for Chinese New Year, so hopefully we will also have the CR-1 interview. It seems that almost no one is filing the I-824 for the I-130. There was a timeline and a long thread at VJ, but it is gone. I don't even know where it went! Now I think it is better to choose the visa you want, and go for it. You will get K-3 at least 6 months or more ahead of CR-1, I don't think you want to spend the money and stay in China to wait for the CR-1, but you must choose. You do know, that because you filed the K-3 that the only way to get a CR-1 is pay the fee and file the I-824? Then you have to wait for the I-824 to be approved and the I-130 sent to NVC. After it is sent to NVC, the CR-1 process begins. I hope this helps, Mike & Zhen
