  1. Hello, this is Mike and Zhen again, we are Registering for Marriage in Nanning, October 30th. I am preparing to file I-130, I-129F, for K3. I can't seen to locate sample docs or example forms for K3 specifically. I-129F for K1 is available. I am also looking for samples for P3 and P4 including checklists or table of contents so we can be prepared. I have a specific question about G-325A; Zhen's Chinese address has been the same for more than 5 years, may I use 2 lines to enter her complete address, or must I use an attachment? Also, can we send mailing labels with her address in Chinese? Will they be used? What about the affidavit of support? I-864, or I-134? I-864EZ? DS156, DS156K, DS230 1 & 2?, SSA application ?, I-485 ?, and I-765 ?. How much proof is required for married couples? photos, e-mail, IM Logs or text?, phone records, visits after wedding? A mix of these that shows it has been ongoing? with detailed proof if they ask for it? I am trying to get the necessary signatures tken care of, so we don't have to wait for/trust the mail to help us. And anything, that you think would help us be better prepared??? Thank you, we appreciate everything you have already done, just by being here. Zhen has gotten info in Chinese, and I have been reading everyday, culture and visa process, help with plane tickets, you are all so helpful, and so supportive. Mike & Zhen
  2. It said I need a chinese visa good for more than 6 months and a foreigner's residence permit to file a I-130, U.S. Consulate Beijing I-130 checklist. Must prove more than 6 months residence. thank you so much, I new the checklist was from Beijing, and I thought it was for DCF, but what about the foreigner's residence permit being needed to get married? I am going there to get married at the end of October. Does it take long to get this permit? Are there restrictions to getting this permit? I plan on filing I-130 as soon as I return to the USA. I have most of the documents except our marriage papers, (as soon as we marry). I have 4 certified copies of every thing so I can send an original certified copy with I-130, I-129F, one for the interview, and one for emergency. I have completed several copies of the G-325A, except for signatures and dates. Should I have these notarized or is that overkill? Thanks again, I don't want to make a mistake, it doesn't hurt to ask even if you think you already know the answer. We have to get to the interview!

  4. Hi , My name is Mike, I have been here before, but I really need some help. I just read again, that I need a foreigner's residence permit, for marriage, and even more important for the first time, for a I-130, it says that I must prove more than 6 months residence, and a valid visa to file for I-130. this is the first time I have seen this in three months of studying the path to USA. Please tell me that this is for DCF in Beijing or Shanghai, and not for filing from USA. Thank you , Mike and Zhen
  5. Hi, I am Mike, Zhen and I have finally decided to Marry in China, and file K3. We are ok with this, but we will will need help and moral support. One question I have is do we need to register our marriage in the U.S., and what abbout name changes? We have talked about having the traditional Chinese Marriage Ceremony, after she gets her Visa, right before we go to the U.S. it will also be a going away party. My questions mostly concern my travel and responsibilities as the groom. I want to give her a wedding ring, but are there any traditional Chinese wedding gifts I should know about? What kind of gifts do I bring to her family? Are there things that I am supposed to do as the new husband? (concerning the family) When I leave to return to the U.S., is there any thing I am supposed to do for Zhen? Now for the trip, I have read that I should have a coat and tie for all official office visits, registration, etc. Will that sportcoat and tie be enough for the dinner with the family? Do I need to bring a fancy suit? I want to bring as little as possible. Should I just bring the suit for everything? Do I need to bring soap and toothpaste, scope, etc. What things are necessary, and what things are available in Liuzhou? What about money conversion? I am sure I have missed many things, and maybe somethings even more important than these, weddings can do that. Any thoughts, suggestions, or help will be greatly appreciated. Both Zhen and I thank you for helping me make a good impression with her family! Thank you, Mike and Zhen. Next, we will need help with the K3.
  6. Hello again, I am back with more good news, Zhen has decided she really wants to marry in China, and in the beginning I promised her that I would do what ever she wanted. So we are getting Married on October 30, I think. I got a connecting flight to Nanning, so we will meet there, and register after the weekend. Now I must start to gather the forms and documents that we will need. Is there any thing I should know before I leave for China, about the wedding or my duties as a groom. I don't want to make a cultural blunder. Any sugestion for a personal wedding gift. Do Chinese women expect similar gifts as american women, or are there traditional chinese gift? Help! I need help, I leave in less than 60 days. thanks Mike & Zhen.
  7. Hello again, Now that we have made our decision, the path is beginning to get clearer. I got my plane ticket today, paciasia.com. The nicest, smoothest time I have ever had getting a plane ticket. I will say more in the communications and planes section. Tommorrow, I will get my Visa. Then we will have 8 weeks to get ready for K1, and the interview. I will need help I'm sure, there will be many questions. If there is something or someplace for me to start, I would appreciate your advice. I will be landing a Guangzhou at 11:35 AM. I will not be able to make a connecting flight till the next afternoon at 12:30 pm. I am thinking about the train. Any thoughts? Could I make the connection same day with carry on bags? 1 hour between landing and departure to Liuzhou. Oh, what about sending I-129f from china before I return to the USA. You can tell I am getting excited, but I know that I haven't even begun the wait. thanks, for your help. Mike & Zhen
  8. Last night, Zhen and I decided after a long discussion, that we will wait to get married in USA. So I will go to China to visit, get engaged, take photos, and have a great vacation (honeymoon) before the wedding. We are already gathering the necessities for filing K1. We decided that it was the safest and fastest way for us.Now we off on the "Journey for our life". I am sure we will be asking stupid questions forever, but we want no mistakes, no errors, and no omissions, only a smooth ride. It seems that K1 has the fewest chances for mistakes, and the wait has not been so bad lately. It looks like many are in the USA in less than 1 year. I know that Zhen's fear is that I will forget her or leave her in China, but I love her and I told her that we could be married in China. I promised her that I would do what ever she wanted. Yesterday, I had my Certificate of Marriagability Authenticated at the Chinese Consulate in Chicago. I will be going to China in late Oct. I would appreciate any suggestions on planning the trip, clothes to bring, money, exchange rate, etc. that would make my trip easier. I have never left the USA before, so your experience will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike & Zhen
  9. Hello, I am a new member, just begining my journey. My name is Mike and my Chinese fiancee is Yizhen. We want to marry in China, and since I have not applied for my Visa yet, we want to know if it is possible to get a Z Visa, resident permit, marry, and file in Guangzhou "DCF"? It seems that this would be the fastest and easiest way to file, but I am not sure about the time requirements. How long to get resident permit, marriage permit, and is there a minimum time of residency. Is it the rules, or the intent that we should worry about? Reguardless, we want to marry in China and come to USA. we just want to go the fastest way possible. Thank you for all the help and support that you can give us, Mike & Zhen I am going to get my authenticated certificate of marriageability today, I hope that I will have some guidence when I return. We have a Chinese Embassy here in Chicago.
