  1. Hello Everyone: My wife is doing fantastic here in America. We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary this past Saturday, she has a new job that she loves, she obtained her driver license and has a car, we are currently looking at homes and just started trying for a baby. My question is; Do we/I need to file anything in the state (Wisconsin) we live in so that they are aware of our marriage?
  2. Fanatastic!!!!!!! Now go enjoy each other for life!!!1
  3. Congrats on your Pink!!!!!!
  4. My wife finally arrived into America last week but our address has changed. Who do we need to contact with the address change. The old address is still my moms current address. When we went to the social security building to apply for the social security card, we supplied them with the new home address. The new address was not given at the POA when she entered America. Thank you in advance.
  5. Just an update: My wife began her journey to America yesterday after spending some time saying goodbye to her family in Moscow and applying for all of the transit visa's. She boarded a train yesterday from Moscow to Amersterdam, the train is currently going through Poland. Then she will take a train from Amersterdam to Brussels, Belgium. Next she will take a train from Brussels to London and finally a train to South Hampton in the UK. From there she will take a transatlantic cruise ship (Cunards, Queen Mary 2) from South Hampton to New York (6 day cruise) where I will be waiting for her. She is expected to arrive into New York on October 2nd. As you can tell, she doesn't fly.
  6. Major congrats guys, enjoy your new lives together uninterrupted.
  7. Congrats, I am so happy to read everything went smooth for you guys.
  8. Hi, I just read the post and let me share my experiences in Beijing with getting the police certificate. I am a Russian citizen and I lived here for 4 years, I went to the local police station, and they said I needed to go to every police station within Beijing for every address I ever stayed at. I said its ridiculous, and went to the foreigner visa section of the Entry and Exit Bureau. They gave me the address of the place that is the affiliate of the Entry and Exit Bureau and deals with the police certs. I went there, presented my passports (current and old), and in 2 weeks time I received a police certificate stating I have no criminal record in Beijing. I didn't have to present any employer letters or local police station letters. I hope this was helpful. Good luck
  9. She already has one of those lined up. I just remember reading something on this site or another site about certain POE's having advantages over other POE's. Where as an immigrant coming through a particular POE could 'check' a certain box on a form or fill out a certain form that would fast-track some aspects of the SS# or green card or work permit. My memory is fuzzy about the details because at that time we were no where near this point. My memory is fuzzy but I remember it talking about an added advantage of entering through NY POE of NJ POE. I guess I will search some more to see if I can find the original thread with that info. Thanks Randy.
  10. My wife will be arriving into America by ocean cruise, so her Port Authority will be the Brooklyn, NY port. Are there any suggestions for things she can due at the POE to make things quicker or easier down the road? i.e.: a form that can be filled out at the POE that will expedite the green card, work permit or issuance of social security number.
  11. When is a resident alien number issued? Is it when the green card is issued?
  12. Is there a link to a picture of what the visa should look like? My wife is wondering because she just picked up her visa and she was wondering about two things: 1) The visa itself has her passport number correct but at the bottom of the visa amongst all of the digits, its missing two of her passport digits. 2)Her case number now has 2 additional digits.
  13. My wife just picked up her visa today from the post office, the visa was actually ready and at the post office on day 2. She also booked her cruise from England to New York last night. It's a 6 day cruise across the Atlantic on Cunard Queen Mary 2. So a one day train ride from Guangzhou to Beijing to finish closing out our apartment. Then a 6 day train ride to Moscow to say goodbye to the relatives, then a 3 day train ride to Paris and a hover boat over to England, then a train ride to South Hampton, next a 6 day boat ride to New York, and last but not least, I will pick her up in New York and we will drive 14 hours to Milwaukee. I bet you can't repeat that one without looking
  14. Thank you everyone for your 'congrats' and thank you a million times more for your help and support. My wife had a few photos printed in the area when she arrived, but I don't know the exact location. Out of everything she took, the only items they requested were the photos, I-864 and IRS tax returns. The EOR letter and everything else never saw the light of day.
  15. From what I've read on here, I'm assuming that the visa is usually ready by the 3rd day but no guarantees. My question is; Does the post office call you when it's ready or are you suppose to go and check yourself on the 3rd day? I read in one of the posts that they received their visa the following day. We are not expecting to be that lucky but I would assume they knew it was ready the next day because the post office contacted them. I even read some threads where they said the delivery guy called them. So it seems as though some are delivered and some must be picked up at the post office. Could someone please shed a light on this?
  16. My wife just called me and gave me the great news that we got PINK!!!!! 3 months and eleven days from initial filing...not bad hey? Exactly 3 months to the day from when out I-130 was approved. Before I ramble on I wanted to give thanks to the people who deserve it. First I want to thank my lovely wife for being who she is and doing such a great job preparing for this interview. I would also like to give a special thanks to dnoblett for his consistant, straight forward, reliable information and help over the months, he is truely a godsend. I would also like to thank all of the other members who assisted, helped and supported us during this process. My wife will most likely give a more detailed account of what happened but this is what I know so far; She arrived at about 7:00am and had to wait outside in line until about 8:00am when they finally started allowing everyone in. She entered the building and had to wait in another long line. She had her interview with the tall guy with the curly hair and he asked the basic questions; How did you meet? When was the first time you met in person? What does your husband do? Do you have any kids? Then he looked at a few pictures and that was it. My wife said from what she could tell, it appears as though her paperwork was already approved before the interview began. She said everyone one was very nice....not a mean, angry or rude person in there. The VO was very professional and nice. Dress warm though because it is very very cold in there. My wife is now in the process of moving out of the Yang's hotel and into a different hotel. The Yang's are good people and a valuable resource to have on your side while you are there.
  17. Thank you my friend, your words are gold right now. I just got off of the phone with her and she is standing in line outside of the consulate waiting for them to open the doors to let everyone in. I just hope she got enough rest last night, unfortunately her hotel room was infested with these huge roaches. How is your SO hotel? My wife will change hotels right after the interview.
  18. Well.....today is the big day. My beautiful and extremely intelligent wife will wake up in about one hour and begin to get ready to head over for her interview. We are pretty calm because we are 100% sure all of our paperwork is in order, we meet the requirements of the AOS, communication isn’t an issue because her English is impeccable, domicile isn't an issue and with the amount of evidence we collected over the past 6 years, validity of the relationship shouldn't be questioned. I know she will do fantastic, so all there is for me to do now is to sit and wait. It's hard to believe we will know our fate in a matter of hours. Logic means nothing right now, emotions are the controlling factor as my nervous level increases with every passing second.
  19. Congrats!!!!!!!!!! You guys must be in heaven?
  20. [quote name='steveandrong' date='Aug 16 2009, 09:22 PM' Rong and I always used the list of 100 questions posted at the 001 website What is this 001 website? Do you have a link to it?
  21. Cool thanks Tsap seui. below is the one you referred to: http://candleforlove.com/FAQ/CFL_Interview_Questions_Final1.htm Here is another one, but not the one I want: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=exampleq Although I do recall seeing something more recent. The latest thing in there is 2007 and the list I remember was a great list of the top 25 questions asked during the interview. If someone knows where that is please direct me to it.
  22. I've been looking for the thread that has the list of questions that a VO may ask during the interview. Unfortunately I haven't been too lucky with my search. Does anyone know where to find them?
