  1. I'm sure it's posted on this forum some where but I just keep missing it but I haven't been able to find it. I would like to find the 'education' section that would educate me on what the P1, P2, P3, P4, touched, Pink slips, blue slips and all of the other jargon I read on here is. Everyone seems to use the terms as though they are well versed on them and I want to get to that point to. Our packet has been sent to GUZ but I don't know if this is P1, P2 or what. Also if it is P1 or P2, what does it mean? What should be expected? I would love a link to the forum that breaks it all down for me in simple terms. Thanks everyone
  2. I don't know what is normal for an I-130, but GUZ sat on our I-129F petition for about a month after it was delivered to the consulate. I have seen some take two months. You're likely to get a better response by calling DOS. What is the DOS and how do I contact them?
  3. Hello Everyone: Our DCF I-130 was approved at the Beijing embassy on May 21st and sent to GUZ on May 21st. As of Friday, the GUZ office still has no record of receiving it. This is the reply I received after my second inquiry: Thank you for your inquiry! To this day, we have not received the subject mentioned case from the USCIS in Beijing. Please rest assured that we will notify your beneficiary by mailing an instruction packet after we receive the case file. Please note that mail and fax are processed in the order received, due to the large volume we have to processed daily, our response sometimes may not be instantaneous. Your patience would be hightly appreciately. Sincerely, Immigrant Visa Unit U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou 1 Shamian South Street Guangzhou, Guangdong 510133 PRC Fax: 86-20-38844412 It will soon be a month since the Beijing embassy sent the file to GUZ, is this a normal legnth of time? I always thought it was less than a week. Thanks for your replies.
  4. We were married in Beijing and my wife is Russian. Both of us have lived together in China for the past 5 years. We requested the police certificate for her to cover those 5 years plus the 2 years she had been in China prior to that. The problem is that when she picked up the certificate today, they informed her that the certificate is only for Beijing. They said that they can only issue police certs for Beijing. My question is: The 2 years my wife was in China before we met wasn't a continous 2 years. She went back home to Russia several times during that time. So her longest time in China during that 2 year span was about 6 months then she would leave and go back to Russia for a month and then return to China, sometimes on the same visa. Will she need police certificates for those short time frames? What is the minimum time legnth she needed to be in China each time to be required to produce a police certificate? Thank you everyone a bunch.
  5. Thanks guys We are taking your advice and preparing all of our documents for packet 3. Three more questions: How long should we wait to be contacted? Will someone call us or email us or send us something via snail mail? Should we expect our next contact to be from NVC or Guangzhou?
  6. I called the Embassy in Beijing today and they informed me that our I-130 had been approved on May 21st and they mailed some paperwork to us by next day EMS on May 26th. I informed him that we never received anything and asked what address and phone number did they use. He wasn't able to provide that information but said he could fax over copies of the paperwork but he will need to call me back after he finds copies of our paperwork Later the Beijing embassy faxed over a copy of the approval letter. There wasn't a case number on the letter and the embassy told us there wasn't suppose to be a case number. They said that the Guangzhou embassy would be contacting us soon. what is the next step after the I-130 is approved? Should there of been a case number? Would this be consider NOA1 or NOA2? What would be the best number to call to inquire on the status in Guangzhou? Thanks everyone in advance.
  7. Hi: After reading the other threads posted on this site, I'd like to ask the question regarding trans-ocean travel to the US again. If anyone on this forum has done it or has a reliable source of information regarding freight ship travel to the North American continent - please respond. I am Russian and my husband is American. We got married and submitted our I-130 in Beijing (DCF), China with plans for me to move to the US in the nearest future after living in China together for the past 5 years. However, I am severely aerophobic. I do not fly. Cannot fly. The only alternative being trans-ocean travel. I have read about it, but have never met anyone who would have done it. Any info would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance
  8. Thank you dnoblett. If I understood you correctly; If I have already returned to America, then; if there was an error on the I-130 or G325A forms that we submitted on May 7th here in Beijing and it is not accepted as a result, then I must begin the entire process over again from the U.S. and pay the filing fee again as though we never submitted it in Beijing? Would you happen to know the average wait time for DCF/I-130 to NOA1 in Beijing?
  9. My wife and I were married on April 24th in Beijing (Im American, She's Russian). We filed DCF (I-130) on May 7th in Beijing, China. We are currently waiting for confirmation that the I-130 was accepted. The problem is that I will be heading back to America at the end of this month and we haven't received confirmation of the I-130 being accepted. What may happen if the I-130 isn't accepted and we need to resubmit for some error on the I-130? How long does it take (from your experience) for the form to be accepted and for us to be notified? Will she be able to resubmit here in Beijing if I'm already back in America? Will we have to begin from scratch, with me submitting it from the U.S.? Thank you in advance.
