My daughter just got here a few weeks ago after finishing middle school in China. Went to high school orientation yesterday and she was not worried about the academics at all. She just sat there in awe on how fat the kids are and in some cases, the extreme obesity. School mentioned an academic ability test, I am thinking whatever they will teach her in 9th grade, she already learned in 4th grade. She is just so happy she goes to school 8am to 2:30pm instead of the old 7-7 and homework 'til midnight.

Visas' in hand. we also checked the tracking earlier for the heck of it and showed they had reached post office the night before at 6:47 pm PRC time. 2 days total from interview to pickup. For what it's worth, we did not submit any bonafide relations w/ the I130 or any where else along the way. We just kept the paperwork as instructed and only submitted what was asked for. When I sent a copy of the I130 for the interview to my wife, she noticed I had wrote her 1st divorce date wrong, married 93 and divorced in 86. well that went through and the well expired police certificate from Dubai as well. along the way I messed up the I864 and the daughter's birthday and they were easily remedied. From what I guess for the long duration P1-P2 was when wife worked in Dubai and this where I think the process got slow getting her background check done.

Wife and daughter got pink sheet for CR1/CR2! I was not there, she wanted me to be home and use vacation time for when she gets here. Interview took 1 minute. The VO who was about 45 did not ask for anything except her passport. His only question was when she came back from work in Dubai UAE. He asked for nothing, no I864, pics, emails, IM logs, nothing. Daughter was not asked 1 question, My wife gave him my original passport, he glanced at it. While he looked at it, wife gave him my evolution of relationship at he glanced at that also. But the 1st thing she made him look at was the complete pages of my local newspaper with our wedding announcement and full color traditional Chinese wedding outfits in bright red. She said the VO loved it and did more time reading the paper than conducting the interview and handed her the pinks still smiling and looking at the paper. but, we do realize that the visas' are not in hand and will really celebrate when they are. Also, for Chilton, Tsap and others w/the white paper hasstle, my wife saw and talked to a couple who waited about 5yrs to get a white paper resolved and they finally got a pink. Man, I think I was as happy to hear this as our own visas'.

One more item about calling for status. I was online last night w/wife when she called GUZ (w/pin#). They (Shirley) said the usual, they had no record of our CR1/CR2 cases. 30 mins later, wife gets call to pick up letter from US CON GUZ, open to find P4. I will call DOS for another laugh this morning.

While I got into a detainment problem on my 1st trip, I never felt I was being monitored on any trips thereafter. Just got the usual looks of curiosity and admiration of a my handsome Irishman self.

Good idea Rog, Worth a try. We got our GUZ # in Nov, and were told both by email from (NVC)and phone (DOS)our petition(electronic & paper) was sent on Dec 20th. I dont know if GUZ ever reads or responds to emails, but maybe they would agree to log it in as loaded in Dec not Feb, maybe, maybe, maybe, or at least make a note that it was a very unusual NVC/DOS delay and should go by the original electronic sent date ( was that a pig flying I just saw ) B) . Maybe it doesn't matter a hoot, its impossible to tell as they have no answer to give me, except , "local policies & procedures" Not quite sure how to break this to Jin, wont be good, thats for sure. Sorry for the - vibes, just a tad dismayed tonight. We were really hoping on May/ June. Roger, could you please clarify the above quote? What kind of certificate can you get from the county/state given that you're already married? Also the ITIN? I was not asked to submit marriage certificate when I filed joint in Feb 2007, just a notarized here in the states copy of wife's passport.

Anywhere on all the forms that it asked ex's info, i also included her SSN. You could do a people search on the web through a pay service or whatever and print out the results and provide them for your lady to have at the interview.

Go w/ K visa if you want her here sooner and do not mind the fees ($1010 I think) when she gets here. If you go w/CR route it will take about 15-18 months now at least.

I went through ITIN process this past spring and marriage certifcate was not needed or some statement about including a non resident spouse in returns.
