  1. I dont know all the fact all I know at this time is she came here on a K-3 and got her permit to work and that everything is going to expire soon and her husband is dragging his feet. She has asked him if he wants a divorce and for her to go back to China and he tells her no, but then still will not file the I-864. He is driving her crazy because of this. From what I'm understanding is she can file for an extention herself and buy her a few months or she can tell her husband she is leaving and start saving her money to go back home, which she doesnt want to do. We are just looking for enough information to get her pointed in the right direction. Thanks to everyone who has responded so far.
  2. Thats what we cant understand, she is eligible for the 10 year card. She doesnt know what to think yet she works and brings home the money for his family. what happens if he wont do anything will she have to go back to China? Is there anything she can do? Thanks
  3. My wife has a friend who came here on a K-3 visa almost 2 years ago and in August her visa will expire. The problem is her husband doesnt want to renew her visa, she keeps asking him about it but he either doesnt want to talk about it or he tells her he wants to file for an extension. She is feeling her husband just wants to control her and there are other things that point to this that we dont want to go into. The question is what are her options if he wont file the papers for her extension? Thanks for any help you can give us.
  4. Anyone have the name of a good visa agency to get my travel visa to china?
  5. I had been married more the once before I met my Chinese wife, I made sure my wife new as much as possible bout my previous marriages incase she was asked at the interview. I did not know the where abouts of my last ex wife but I gave my wife as much information as possible. I wrote a letter for her to take to the interview with her from me to the interviewer explaining our relationship and a brief history of my past. Just incase you wife or fiance is asked she better know as much as possible or it will look like she may be hidding something. My previous marriages were a concern I thought it may keep us from a pink slip but when my wife was asked questions at her interview she had the answers. This is the approach we took and it worked for us.
  6. I followed the instuction they had on their webste and put everything together in a neat and orderly fashion. we had no problems and my wife is now here with me....Best of luck
  7. So if I take this all right, we can go down and apply for a SS card as soon as she gets here and wait for the green card to come in the mail? How long will that take? What about travel out of the country I assume we need to wait for the green card? Is there a list of things we need to do or how things actually work posted somewhere. I dont know if they gave my wife instruction or something with here visa I didnt ask... We live right next to the Canandian border and with Vancouver less then an hour away with their big Chinese area it will be a good place for her to get things she likes. Thanks,
  8. My wife is coming in less then 2 weeks on a CR-1 visa what are the next steps? Can someone tell me where there is a list of things we need to do yet. Thanks

  10. Thanks Everyone, Yes it is a great relief to have your wife call you and tell you its PINK!!!! Again thanks to CFL I dont know if I could have done it without the help of those here....
  11. I wish I could help but your questions are indeed for someone that know a lot more about the laws then I. I might suggest an attorney just for advice maybe not the whole filling. As you stated yourself a big mistake could be very costly.
  12. My wife passed her interview and here are the questions she was asked: Wife: Good morning Sir VO: Good morning, can you speak English? Wife: Yes ( she said with confidence) VO: Good, Where did you meet you husband? Wife: Internet VO: Which one? Wife: Asian Friend Finders and asked if he wanted to see a letter from the website and my husband. VO:Yes VO: When did your husband first visit you? Wife: March 2005, would you like to see a copy of my husbands passport? VO: Yes VO: Did you ever meet his family? Wife: Yes his 12 year old son came with him to visit last November, would you like to see pictures? VO: Yes VO: Do you have a copy of his 2006 tax return? Wife: I told him I already gave it to the lady along with my physical examination report. VO: Oh Yes I do have it. VO: Is your husband retired? Wife: My wife explained no that I had been injured on the job and that now I was back to work and gave him a copy of a letter I had written to explain my situation that had been sent in with the I-864. Wife asked if VO would like to see a letter from my employer? VO: Yes VO: Have you ever been married before? Wife: No this is my first marriage. VO: Is this your husbands first marriage? Wife: No VO: Any children from his previous marriage? Wife: Yes VO: What are there ages? Wife: Answers VO: everything looks good, returns pictures and gives wife the pink slip. Wife: Thank you and have a nice day. My wife said the VO was very young very nice and proffesional, she said she believes all of the questions had already been decided upon because she could see a piece of paper he had prepared and was checking off. My wifes appointment was for 7:15 am she waited in line before entering the building, it was sometime before she was sent to have her fingerprints and hand over the medical exam. It was almost 11:30 before she was called for the interview. My wife came fully prepared for everything, she said she was nervous right up until the time she sat down for the interview and then as soon as it started she was no longer nervous. we had talked about this before as we prepared and I told her to think of the interview as if she was meeting someone she had not seen for awhile and that she was going to share with them our happiness and love for one another, she said that helped her a lot. We were prepared because of the help of people here at CFL and the fact that our relationship is built on good communication and we share everything with one another. Thanks again to all of you, I hope I can be as much help to others as others have been to us....

  19. I am CR-1 and I bought my wife a ring while we were together in China, it is a modest ring but it made here the happiest woman in the world. She also insisted on buying me a ring and on the inside we hade it engraved with our names and the date we were married. I didnt do this to make a difference at the inteview, infact the thought never crossed my mind I did it because I love my wife dearly.
