  1. We are here right now, and I can only say that Mr. Yang and his staff takes personal responsibility for our comfort and convenience. Mr. yang is a real ball of energy. This morning he took personal care of a group of us, herding us into taxis and getting us over to the Island for our medicals. He stuck with us until he was sure that we were in the system and on our way. Mike
  2. Thank you for your response, sir. I will see you on Sunday. Mike
  3. Hi Those of you who have stayed with Mr. Yang....What type of internet connection does he have....telephone or Ethernet? I am bringing along a laptop to keep in touch, and would like to know. Thanks. Mike
  4. Even if it was an misdiagnosis and not a scam they should have tested her again. At this point, I don't need the hassle. We will use the other facility next week.
  5. My most heartfelt congratulations, my friend. I am very happy for you. We will be in touch more later. Gotta chat with Manyun now.
  6. Dou-tang... Are they cousins of the Wu-Tang I would only recommend the stylist clips/prongs/fasteners for petitions; for the interview, I'd use paperclips to simply separate similar financials you might keep in a single folder. One approach is to have all the financials in the folder (by clips) and when asked for any financial to hand over the entire folder... this way, the VO sees it all and selects what he wants, like a buffet... Yes, and direct decendents of the O-rang-U-tang I kinda see the point that you and Mike are making, but in effect I have done the same thing. My folders are arranged: #1) Photographs of visits to China (actual photos presented in page form) #2) Yahoo chat sessions, 11/2/05 to 3/5/06 #3) Yahoo chat sessions, 11/3/06 to present #4) History of relationship and renewed avowal of desire to marry Dynasky phone records Computer screen prints taken during Yahoo chat sessions #5) I-134 Employee verification report U.S. and Michigan income tax returns, 2003-2005 Retirement investments Deferred compensation investments Life Insurance documentation #6) I-797 I-797C Full copy of original I-129F submittal Original and copy of Criminal and Birth certs #7) Petitioners Divorce decree Quit claim Deed giving the ex-wife the house Utility bill showing ex-wife's address (same as on Quit Claim) Flight itineraries and proof of payment for airline tickets for both visits #8) Proof of financial support (only held in reserve if needed) Envelope #1) and #2) Actual Boarding passes, hotel receipts, ATM transactions for first and second visit to China. An index card is attached to the front of each folder describing the contents in English. Manyun will add the Chinese version when I see her on Sunday. So it's pretty much as you all said, but just held together a little differently. I value any and all opinions or suggestions, so I will review all comments and decide what is best to do. My original question concerned any documents that are regularly retained by the VO. Then yes, it would be a pain to remove these docs from the prongs. But, I have tried to group everything by type, and as you said, a request for one financial document will result in have them all. Thank you all for your responses. Mike
  7. Thought you might like to know... I looked at weather.com just now. Looked at the 10-day forecast for Guangzhou..... Rain and mid-90's EVERY DAY at least through the 15th!!! Can you say SWEAT?????
  8. As I am doing the final assembly of our various packets, I am trying to think back if there were any posts which specified which forms, if any, were kept by the VO after the interview. At this point, my memory span is down to mere seconds. And besides, at this point my memory span is down to mere seconds... I am using Dou-tang folders with the metal prongs that are folded over to contain the papers. I'd rather rearrange everything that will be kept by the VO into one folder, or bind them in a different way so that Manyun does not have to fumble with the folders to get the required pages out. Thanks for the
  9. Well, I guess that helps with the decision about which facility to have the medical check done at on Monday. Thank you for the information.
  10. Bill Sounds like we will be in Guangzhou at the same time for a few days. With incredible luck, I found a small Chinese grocery store within walking distance from my house. Manyun was very excited last night when I told her that she did not have to worry about her rice cooker, as I would buy her a new one when she got here from the same store. Although she wants to learn to like American food, I also want her to continue to have the food that she loves. I like a lot of it too, but some of it is just too...ummm...you know Maybe those of us that will be in GZ during that time frame can hook up for lunch? There is another member (fewmgf) that will also be there. Paul, I really wish you could be there, but we will keep in touch. Got my fingers crossed for the 7th for ya.
  11. Actually, Bill, my fist visit to China was almost exactly one year ago. Last week in September and the first week in October. It's when I met the "Wheel Man", Paul who posted just before me. Sensibly, I had a lot of shorts with me. My second visit was the end of March into April. I met up with "pushbrk" Mike that time. My SO convinced me that I would need longer pants due to the "Cooler" weather, (she does not like short pants), so I brought all long jeans. Well, it rained half the time I was there, and the day I left the predicted high temp was 94 degrees. I know exactly what you mean about humidity. I have already told that for this trip, I will bring two pairs of long pants...1 blue jean-type, and some dress slacks for the "celebration" dinner with the family. The rest will all be SHORTS. When will she be coming to the States? Mike
  12. Bill I like your attitude, and admire your ability to remain calm. However, now I wish I haden't flushed those leftover Vicodin I found in the med. cabinet, left over from my wrist surgery. Hi fewmgf. Good luck to you also. I remember you are going to Nanning, and then backtracking to GZ. My SO and daughter are meeting me at Mr. Yang's place on Sunday. Like I said before, I'll be the tall, American-looking guy holding hands with a shorter Chinese woman. While us "September" guys don't have the numbers that those "August" guys sent over, we can still make a good showing. Mike
  13. First, you can't really fake the screen shots so those are good. What I did is open some of the logged chat sessions and took screen shots of them. It doesn't show the whole chat but the log shows when and how long each chat was. I doubt you'll have a problem as long as you have the screen shots and what you printed, along with her handing the VO your passport with hers so he knows you're downstairs waiting. Thanks, Mike I feel better.
  14. We used Yahoo Messenger almost exclusively....very few emails. I used Alta Vista's Babelfish to translate, and we used English whenever possible. However, through experimentation, it appeared that the only way to print out the entire chat session was to copy/paste it into a word document. I then printed them all, double sided with small font to save paper, from November 2nd through the present. I also have about 50-60 "screen shots". The chats are about an inch thick. If someone thinks I spent that much time typing that out, oh well! But now you have me a little worried. I was confident that I had what was needed. Now I am not so sure. Maybe I should try to match up a screen shot with the associated chat session. Ya think? AAARRRGGGHHH!!! More stress. Mike
  15. Congratulations. Our interview is next Thursday and I am already a basket case. PM me with your drug of choice, ok??? (Just kidding). I leave for Guangzhou on Friday. Have a great life. Mike
  16. Ron, my friend. I do not know your age or your musical tastes, but I am suddenly reminded of a song by the Rock group Queen, who sang, " Keep Yourself Alive". Don't give up. I sent several emails to Guz, called DOS repeatedly, and just wouldn't let my case go even though we lost one to two months compared to others pre-EMBRA. What kept us out of the August group, and possibly July was some sort of name-check snafu. Ask questions, demand answers, Ron. I have experienced your fiestiness. You have it in you. Keep on Keepin' on. "Fight for The Right To Party!!!" Oooops...Wrong song. Michael
  17. I knew it would happen, Richard. My most heartfelt congratulations to both of you. Thanks for the interview questions. 15 days and counting (sometimes I am so freaked that I forget what the next number is ) Michael
  18. We also hope to use Mr. Yang. Wasn't she a beautiful sight?????
  19. To the first guy who welcomed me to CFL, I you you and your SO the very best of luck, and a long and happy life together. And PLEASE...make sure that you keep ALL of those appendages out of the way of those sharp knives!!! Mike
  20. Congratulations, Toni. Best wishes for a long and happy life. March...looks like we'll be passing each other in Guangzhou. I'll be the tall American holding hands with a short Chinese woman. Mike
  21. Great news!!! Congratulations. I pity anyone flying in the near future, though. Hope the tightened security doesn't affect the CFLers with pending interviews.
  22. Hey Ron After everything I read here early on, I never gave the expiration of the I-129 a second thought. It happens continuously, and the extension is automatic. Mike
  23. Don't panic man, everything will work out like is is supposed to. Hell, Lynn is in another city working and didn't even know about the interview date either until this morning that is. As far as she knows the P-4 has not been delivered yet. DOD said it was mailed to her on 25 July. How long do you think we should wait b/f contacting them to let them know we have not gotten it, if in fact we have not received it soon? Yeah, it's too bad they will most likely not have similar interview dates. Lynn sees you guys photo on here and remembers that day in Nanning when we met - pretty cool, eh? Ok,you stay in touch and let us know just as soon as your P-4 arrives. Wheel Man 235695[/snapback] Sorry Paul...I forgot to tell you. The night that I told Manyun about the interview date we were on the phone, supplementing the conversation with Yahoo Messenger. My telling her was delayed by an Internet/computer glitch. Her daughter Lingyi came in with the mail. I had told her about the interview date about 30 minutes earlier. When she looked at the mail, there it was...the Magical P-4. (Oooohhh...Aaaahhh ). As it was mailed the same day, I would imagine that you two also have yours. It really is too bad that we are one week apart. Woulda been great to spend the time with you and Lynn in Guangzhou. Mike
  24. Thanks, David. It should all be downhill from here, right?????
  25. Congratulations again. I don't know about you, but I am on the verge of panic!!!!! Where do I start??? I was going in circles last night.
