  1. Hello Everybody our interview will be NOV 4th and have a few questions. just want to confirm if we are good to go for the interview. 1. We didn't have the funds to throw a big wedding bash, so my wife and I did a simple civil marriage, we don't have any pictures, because it was just the two of us. I am guessing when the I/O ask to see wedding pictures, it's ok to tell him that we are broke and didn't have enough money to throw a wedding bash but we are saving for it, correct? 2. We are living at home with my parents and we don't pay rent, utilities, etc, so we don't have any joint utility bills, the only thing we have joint, is a checking account. please advise...
  2. put the dvd's in a cd case/folder and you'll be fine, don't bring the covers though, it makes it too obvious..

  4. use this time period to build your relationship, and prepare your case when she is in GUZ, alot of people want to hurry up but screws up in the end because they were not prepared. make sure every nook and cranny is in place prior to the interview....
  5. do it in the consulate, this gives the VO a chance to read it and get to you your relationship better and possibly making your interview eaiser, i bought my letter there and had to wait about 30-40 mins before they called me up to the window for the notarizing process.
  6. well, i asked question to my then fiancee and now wife for about 3 or 4 months prior to the interview and she was very comfortable during the interview.... and i also twisted the questions to make sure she understands..
  7. For sending $10,000 in the other direction, we had to set through a 45 minute "phone interview". The Western Union guy re-asked the questions on the transfer form, asked a couple more (like, "what do you do for a living"), and basically made us (and the supermarket clerk) stand there for 45 minutes. All for a $26 fee. And this was in the US. samething happen to me but it was for $100.00
  8. yea, declaring is very easy, just tell the CBP that your finacee has brought cash, they will give you a form for your fiancee to fill out. when we arrived they split us up, i went to do the xray on the baggage and my fiancee(now wife) went to a counter to fill out the finCEN 105.

  14. the "white book" can be obtained in the Gong Zheng Zhu, which is a notary office. she needs to bring her household book there, and they will be able to compile a birth cert. she should also bring the police cert aswell.. for translation and notarized.
  15. I like that. I'll type the letter and have it notarized here free in the state. It shouldn't make difference whether you typed or wrote. Typing seems look much cleaner and more formal in front of VO. I just canceled the appointment of notarizing my document in ACS. This thread is one of the most helpful thread, there is just so much important information in it. Thanks. Mei & Steve How can you get notorization for free? And when do you give this Evolution of Relationship letter to the consulate? During the interview? you should get it notarized in Guangzhou during Amercian Citizen Service, this way it would give the VO a chance to read it and possibly make your interview more eaiser....... again possibly...
