Congra. I am starting the process for my parents' B2 visa. The interview will also be in Chengdu. Could you share your MIL's experience? Much appreciated.

Rcv'd my 10 yrs green card yesterday. I was amazed by their fast speed this time since my conditional green card took extra 6 months to just fix an error. ( such a pain...) Anyway, I am not ready to the upcoming citizenship stage, struggling whether I should or should not keep moving, but I know it has limitation compare to be a US passport holder, which requires GC holder to stay in US at least 6 months out of a whole year, less benefit, harder to travel... What else I need to be awarded of? how's your better half or yourself handle this? I still have sometime to think about it, but I just want to get a heads up info. Is it possible to be out of states over 6 months w/o some sort of AP as GC holder? Thanks for sharing.

so far, I've rcv'd 2 I-797 letters w/ 2 different #s for my I-751. BTW, do you and your better half both go for biometrics? Is this matter?

Hi guys, I submitted my I-751 last week, an extended letter received yesterday shows the receipt number for I-751(start with 'WAC').So I went to the USCIS website to check the case status, it shows my receipt number is not valid, not in their system. Is this normal? happened to anyone else before?

Quick question, if anyone has idea what to: my EAD will be expired in 2 months Green Card approved 6 months ago with wrong data. sent it back, stilling waiting... do i need to renew my EAD to allow me continue working? i do appreciate any answer from you. thank you.

i sent it back over 3 months ago... still waiting... on the website, shows my case has been updated both yesterday and today, so hopefully it will come to me soon.

bearbear, we have just been going through this. Here is what you have to do: complete an I-90 form (can get from the USCIS site), return the green card with evidence substantiating the correct address as well as documentation showing identity, and just wait on a new one. I just mailed Jie's yesterday, they had the incorrect country (she is from China but they put Taiwan). Also, on the letter that the green card was attached to, there is a phone # to USCIS that you can call, and they will give you the correct address you need to mail the I-90 to. Its a pain in the a$$, but its the only way. Nevertheless, he is still legal in the US, so there is no worry about him being without the green card. i have the same issue as your wife. it's been over 3 months since i mailed it back. i am still waiting, waiting and waiting... oh my GOD~~~~it's gonna take them forever to correct their mistake.

238604[/snapback] 238625[/snapback] Before you send them your green card make sure you have the stamp in your passport showing you are an LPR, if necessary make an InfoPass appointment to get this done. They might be able to validate your paperwork there, but I don't know. You can use the stamp in your passport just like the Green Card so you won't be caught in the middle while they take their time to get the corrected one out to you. 238629[/snapback] i do not have any stamp in my passport. i heard they will stamp in your passport after the interview, right? but, i didn't go for an interview. so i guess i will make a copy of my green card. just in case... you mean i can make an appointment, go there directly?? but i read on their website says mail it back to the service center...Well, well... i guess i'll call the 1800 #, hope there is a live person. people are missing there all the time...

As I recall you had a K-1 visa, the visa page in your passport should show Nationality as CHIN, your passport shows your place of birth, verify your I-485 showed your place of birth as China. The visa proves they have already recognized your place of birth as China and your I-485 shows it again so it is easy to prove that you did not make the mistake. You could also remind them that Taiwan is not a country, but a province of China. If you want to have a bit of fun contact your congressman and demand to know why the US Government has declared that Taiwan is a country and not a province of China. Remind them that the Chinese government would not be happy with this official recognition by the US Government and you as a Chinese citizen would like to see them correct this. thanks, frank... they will charge me again??!!! so what documents can i show them to prove that is their fault?? everything on my emplyment pass is correct, can i show them that?? on that piece of paper says call 1800 375 5283 if you find an error on it. but i called that # 1month ago, seems like no live people to pick up the phone, it's just the machine. how did you deal with your case??you showed them anything?? the name on the appointment letter shows as:LINGLI，JAMES LINGLI is my first name, which is the same as my passort first name. JAMES is my husband family name,which i added it as my family name. so, the passort shows my name as: SU, LINGLI SU is my family shows on the passort. all the letter from USCIS shows as: LINGLI, JAMES 1st name M.name Last name when i filled out the form i put: LINGLI SU JAMES cause problems?

Ps: i do not change my first name, i keep my first name, and move my original family name as the middle name, and add my husband family name as mine. anyone has the same situation as my who had the Biometrics and AOS interview before? cause any problems?? i heard from one friend said they wont let you do the Biometrics if the name is different. is that ture?

i just went back from the China Embassy in San Francisco. my purpose was going there and make a notation in the passport indicationg the married name and the the maiden name. the lady there refused to do this for me due to my AOS is pending, even though i brought the marriage certif., SSC, and letters from USCIS. she said i do not have an official document to prove my name changed. Either i can get that document from the court or i have to wait until my green card gets approve and show the new name on it. then they can do it for me. Moreover, i told her that i filled out my AOS and EAD forms used my married name, she said i put myself in a trouble because the different name might cause some problems during the interview. So, my question is: i am going to have the Biometrics on March 30th. and my passport only shows the maiden name, will that cause any problem due to the different name i use? and the time when you have the AOS interview?! or i have to do what the lady says to get a name changed official document? Pleas reply me if you have any exprience. BIG thanks!!

i didn't...but i put stickers on each single doc. for instructions, then i used two small butterfly clips for AOS and EAD,a big butterfly clip bind together. but i think either way is fine.
