  1. Can she pick up the letter at the consulate right before (or the day before) she goes in for the interview?
  2. Will they email it? That may be critical for my SO, as well.
  3. Oh - You mean the baby's pants?? The climate in Guangxi has done an excellent job of preparing my SO for life here in Houston. She seems to relish the heat.
  4. But DOS doesn't know anything, until entered in the GUZ computer. The interview date is the first thing that fits that bill. And they are much easier to get information from.
  5. This is called a lease I kind of suspect that a lot of Chinese people mean this when they say "own"
  6. Wonderful! It looks to me like maybe they ARE using the P3 Received date, instead of 'P3 entered' (I hope I hope I hope!)
  7. . . . and a Starbucks at the Forbidden City! The emporers never had it so good
  8. Someone here will steer you to where the forms are - get them yourself (check the links here). My SO in Yulin (near Nanning also) still hasn't received a letter they sent the first week of July. The GUZ simply says, she doesn't need it, if she fills out her own form.
  9. May the prick of GUZ awaken us from our slumber!

(maybe they go by the RECEIVED date (I hope!!!))
  11. . . . and with only 5 blue thingies!
  12. free - right click, and select "properties"

  15. I go through Chicago, but I've never timed it. It seems like less than an hour though. Go PAST the wall before the immigration guy comes around to tell everyone - there are lines there with no one in them. I think you can make the 1 hour connection, but like everyone is saying, don't take the chance.
  16. We are SO happy for everyone! May the rest of us be very close behind!
  17. FANTASTIC!! Another one! Keep 'em coming, GUZ!!
  18. http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/ups/DeNiro/flower.gif CONGRATULATIONS http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/ups/kamikaze/smilie_groupflip2.gif
  19. While I agree with you about the immersion method of teaching ESL, I would hesitate to send her to a class full of Spanish speakers where she might get rapidly lost. There are new concepts to Chinese speakers (like tense, gender) which Spanish speakers are already familiar with, and ESL Chinese classes are also available. Not understanding something when everyone else gets it right off can leave you feeling lost pretty quick.
  20. There would be a BIG difference between ESL Spanish (for example) and ESL Chinese. The grammar, pronunciation, and a lot of the words are very familiar to a Spanish speaking person. Not so to a Mandarin or Cantonese speaker.
