  1. Sounds like he is collecting $150 bills.
  2. Thanks, Will meet them tomorrow and look at the forms with them. Since she has been here working in the US on a work visa, then met someone and got married do they have to file the I130,I131 ?? The work visa is a temporary visa - she can only Adjust status from the I-130. The I-131 is for advance parole, if she wants to leave the country and come back. Like STephen said it's free, but of course optional. The I-765 will get her an EAD card, also free and optional. If her work visa expires, she may need this to work. K-1's and K-2's can adjust status - others must have an approved I-130.
  3. http://i28.tinypic.com/2mruqv6.jpg Congratulations !! http://i1.tinypic.com/3ygwmdz.gif Way to go, you two! Now bring her to Texas.
  4. RFE = Request For Evidence. Welcome Letter = Approval Without Interview, this is common for those adjusting from a K-Visa. The "Welcome to America" letter is the I-797 Notice you get when the green card is approved for ANY I-485 or I-130 application. It says basically that the green card is in the mail (or at least in production). http://www.welcometousa.gov/
  5. What input method and font are you using? Both must be Chinese (japanese, in a pinch) First, make sure you can input Chinese to Notepad or Word - others may have some advice about pdf's, but I didn't find them any different
  6. The I-797C would be the correct number - the I-94 was probably transcribed incorrectly. My guess is that you wouldn't have a problem, but that's just a guess - make sure to fill in the correct number every you can. It should be on the NOA2 you got when they sent your case to the NVC. No, it's not on a K_1 visa.
  7. If she's on a student visa, that's a different matter entirely. They are generally not allowed to leave the country. Don't compare it to your own situation.
  8. I think it's been stated here that Canada no longer awards fiance visas. By DavidZ, if I remember correctly. But that's about all I can help with.
  9. Assuming your wife is there, no. But they have been known to deny visas to children with neither parent there. In one case, a child was denied whose parents where there, but had been denied access to the 5th floor by the Chinese guards.
  10. The flights from China only go through Chicago, Newark, San Francisco, and Los Angeles POE's. Some connecting flights go through Seattle, Dallas - maybe a few others. We've never heard of anyone being asked to produce the x-rays.
  11. Yes for the first and yes for the second, but only your sanity. It's hot in the summer, with August the worst month for both heat and humidity. You might wait for your new address to put that on the application
  12. SHouldn't be a problem - she might get a question about why she was gone so long, but nothing consequential http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=478774 You might want to check the date on her green card - it should be good for 2 years
  13. . . . basically, to place a prettier picture of your relationship in the hands of the VO BEFORE the interview.
  14. Here - http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showuser=8611 If you de-select "Enable signature? ", it does that

  16. So quickly after your EAD - I'll bet it's either the Welcome letter, or an RFE. Keep your fingers crossed.
  17. No - but she will have to re-do all required vaccinations (unless she had the vaccination part filled out)
  18. Hey, I happen to know you're at work, dude. Do you still have images turned off?
  19. No!! No!! No goats or shape! (Yes, you win again)
  20. He was interviewed by the USCIS, before his NOA2 (remember he's filing DCF), due to "complications". Not for the visa, but in order to approve the petition. Only he can elaborate.
  21. It says "Any other alien" So YES it is NOT N/A I'm counting one other alien (her mother) - So YES it is YES (just to clarify what Dan said)
  22. . . . still others have breezed through without a worry.
