  1. CONGRATS to all of those getting their interviews in March! This is good news for everyone, even those in the pipeline after you. For now, the wait from P3 to interview seems consistant at 6 months. So there is hope for everyone still waiting.
  2. John, it appears that the month of February is booked. Hopefully, all of the September P3's will get scheduled for March. And if we are really LUCKY, maybe some of October's too.
  3. I'm still trying to keep this thread going. Come on P4's!
  4. I just want to keep this thread going. Hopefully, there will be more P4's coming soon for everyone who returned their P3's in September.
  5. That's good news. Hopefully you will get to the bottom of this soon. In most cases, I have found calling the DOS to be more useful than contacting GUZ by email. Good Luck.
  6. Yeah, let's keep this thread alive. John, this may be your month. Good Luck!
  7. CONGRATS!!! You are almost there! And you'll be so busy getting prepared that the next few weeks will FLY.
  8. I just found this posting on the GUZ consulate website. Did you guys know this? http://www.usembassy-china.org.cn/guangzho...new.html#normal "IV Processing Continues As Normal Contrary to rumor, the Immigrant Visa Section has not stopped processing any category of immigrant or quasi-immigrant (K, V) visa. Due to the recent installation of new computer software and U.S. biometric requirements however, case processing requires more time. Therefore, applicants may experience a longer wait for their interview. This delay can be expected across the board, i.e. in all visa categories. We thank you for your patience and understanding."
  9. Your interview appointment is good news. I hope that all of the CFL members who sent P3's in September can get interviews in February.
  10. Shouldn't the February interviews be scheduled by now? Has anyone heard anything? For those longtime CFL members, is this normal or should we be concerned about new changes and further delays? A Press Statement on the consulate's website states that they are now issuing 12 month multiple-entry business and tourist visas. Could they be diverting resources to processing these new visas?
  11. Could this have anything to do with the recent changes in the 12 month business and tourist visas? What if they are diverting resources and interview spots for processing temporary visas instead? It seems that the DOS is more interested in reuniting businessmen than reuniting families... because I have not heard any good news on the immigrant visa front.
  12. Currently, some of the people who returned their Packet 3s in September are getting February interviews. The P4's come out about a month before your interview. So we are looking at roughly 4 to 5 months from P3 to P4.
  13. Phil, your timeline is good news. If you returned your P3 on August 31, it was probably entered into the system sometime in September. And you got a Feb 1 interview. I don't want to speak too soon, but maybe GUZ can schedule Feb interviews for all of the September P3's. GUZ got backlogged sometime in April 2004, which slowed its processing times tremendously... more than doubling it. I am hoping that this trend is now reversing, and processing times at GUZ can revert to what they were at the start of 2004.
  14. Are the P4's for February interviews out? Or has the spigot stopped?
  15. Why the hell is that article even on the USCIS website. They have no business guessing "if" and "how" two people love each other. That is a personal matter.
  16. Alex, You may find this useful someday. I found it on the USCIS website. http://uscis.gov/graphics/shared/fieldoffi...hou/aboutus.htm Customer Feedback: We strive to provide quality service to our customers. 17. Is there any news on the February interviews? They were able to give some August P3 interviews in January. I'm hoping that they can grant interviews to P3's from the rest of August and all of September. Anyone think I'm being too optimistic?
  18. Congratulations! The best things come to those who wait.
  19. I am visiting my SO for Christmas in Guangzhou. Does anyone know where I can find a studio to tape our conversation in VHS format for the interview? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  20. I have noticed that some CFL members are people who have already succeeded in bringing their fiance's to the U.S. But they are still here, offering excellent advice to people who are still waiting... like myself. Just wanted to take a moment to thank them for sticking around and sharing their knowledge with the rest of us. Their help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  21. Thanks everyone for the info. It was very helpful.
  22. On the embassy website titled "K1 Visa Processing In Guangzhou", they state that the P3 includes " a list of specified branches of the CITIC Industrial Bank where applicants can pay for the RMB830.00 processing fee prior to the interview." My SO received her P3, but only mentioned the two forms (DS-230 & OF-169). Do we need to make a payment before we can receive the P4? Any info would be very helpful.
  23. Don't feel so bad. $1800 is far cheaper than constantly making trips to China. My plane ticket to visit my SO for Christmas is $1400.
  24. I agree. For the sake of our sanity, we need to worry less and have a little faith. No more sleepless nights... everything will work out.
