  1. Best of luck to you! I wonder if our girls saw each other on that bitter day?
  2. Well, the opening salvo has been fired. It will be interesting to see if the complaint itself will get any serious responses, or how strongly it has to be pressed in order to force someone sit up and take notice. This can only be the beginning. Organizations not in compliance with laws, rules, regs, etc., and are exposed tend to just sit back and try to ignore any expose`, relying on the passage of time and no follow-up action to just let things settle and pass away. Roth suggests contacting your congressperson and insisting that something be done about GUZ, DOS and USCIS. Why don't we stand behind him and give him a hand? How about a grass roots campaign to focus attention on what we all know has been going on long enough? Email the link to your congressperson and insist they read it, and then discuss it with them! I've already sent it to mine. There's plenty of room on the bandwagon... Splinterman
  3. Get this brother C, yesterday I came home and found the remnants of another bird Yep, she had caught another one and she did fry it in oil and eat it. She's practicing for that wild turkey....
  4. http://arctec.com/blog/ This is the link to the Complaint narrative along with a link to some of the appendices contained in Mr. Roth's writings. Splinterman
  5. I believe there is a form that you can fill out and submit for the return of original documents but I am not sure what that form number is. Anyone here know anything more about this? Splinterman
  6. Last night when I came home from work, the bird was under a basket and tied to a string. She would only tell me that she caught it with her hand. I have seen her do this once as she had a bird cornered on the front porch and then grabbed it from the air with her bare hand. I will keep asking her and maybe she will tell me how she caught this one. I think she fed it some wine? Adding to the speculation here, maybe she won't tell you because she first knocked it senseless with that slingshot? This whole thing is funnier than all get-out! I wouldn't be surprised to turn on the TV one day and find there's a new Chinese hunting show, hosted by your Mrs and with guests like the other ladies and maybe the other member's father-in-law!
  7. A hearty CONGRATULATIONS to you both for your sweet success and also the beginning of your new life together!! It's PARTY TIME!!! Splinterman
  8. Charles, this whole story has been hilarious! Ya just have to be in awe of these ladies who see things the way they do and have these hidden talents, like catching a bird by hand (not an easy task at all) and then tying it to a string! LOL, I hope you always stay on her good side lest one of your neighbors happens by and finds you all trussed up in your front yard with welts from where all those slingshot stones hit you... I'm wondering... could it be a starling?
  9. You receive it just before USCIS sends the petition off to NVC. If you move after you file I-129F, in many cases the approval notice will be lost in the mail (Returned to USCIS) the post office will not forward mail. USCIS marks the mail "Return Service Requested" Dan, I work for the USPS. The letter from USCIS would be First Class Mail and all FCM is forwardable, IF there is a change-of-address on record. A change of address is good for 1 year. If there is no change of address on record then the mail is returned to sender. By postal regs, any FCM mail marked Return Service Requested must be returned if it is undeliverable as addressed with no forwarding order on file. Splinterman
  10. Congratulations for the excellent results and also for the happiness that you both will share for many years to come!!! Splinterman
  11. I think the U.S. generally needs to find a way of reforming the way they do tourist visas as well. The K-1 process is so long, drawn out, and expensive(not to mention emotionally draining), far too much so for it to be a reasonable "optional visit" to the country, though I certainly understand why people choose to go that route. That SHOULD be the role of the tourist visa (as visiting "friends" falls under that category); unfortunately the way tourist visas from China are adjudicated, it's a near impossibility in a large number of situations. I think many of us would prefer that opportunity, if getting a tourist visa was actually a reasonable process. Yes, a Tourist visa would work also. It remains to be seen if the approval for those type visas will lighten up also in the near future. Maybe that's not going to happen though if the Chinese and US Navies don't stop having 'incidents' with one another like yesterday...
  12. I agree with you, Georgeandli. In fact, I'd like to see the K-1 time period extended to at least 180 days instead of just 90, so both people could have a better opportunity to see if they are compatible. Just because 2 people love each other doesn't automatically mean that they can live with one another...
  13. Sounds to me like there is a bit of dao mei in the future for that bird... Splinterman
  14. Good point. I'd sure like to see something surface on this. I'd also wonder if the increase in staffing at USCIS in the States means that possibly the current 1 1/2 to 2 year wait to get a NOID letter out of them will get much shorter... Splinterman
  15. I know it ain't no crow cuzzin George. I haven't seen this particular bird and there are a lot of birds hangin out around the house now. She tried to describe it to me but you can guess how that went. I don't know much about birds other than the most common types like crows and such, but I think (the way she described it) is small, fat, and perhaps an orange colored belly with the rest of it being grayish and some black. This lil bird is in a heap a trouble if'n it comes around talking dao wei again. Hey Charles, I wouldn't worry about what the birds say but I would sure listen when the racoons start chattering, LOL! I don't know if you have any Harbor Freight Tool stores around your place but they sell an animated owl that scares the living s*** out of the winged critters around my place. But, after a few barley pops that'un starts to talk too.... Splinterman
  16. Hi Wendy, welcome to the USA and also best wishes to starting this new chapter in your life! I hope there will be many happy pages in it!! Splinterman
  17. Congrats! Now you will really get busy! Congratulations, it's party time! The best is yet to come... Splinterman
  18. BilLing, you didn't hijack so no apology needed. But you DID add an interesting idea-that maybe the trend is starting to reverse itself in GUZ. Could it be that the [oppressive policies] of the former Administration are beginning to be swept out the door? A 'friendlier' government? I'd sure be damn glad to see that happening... Splinterman The band Little Feat said it best: 'I have the Apolitical Blues.....' LOL Splinterman Nothing 'political' in this post, is there !?
  19. Regardless the reason-if there is one or not-I'm still damn glad to see a change. I wouldn't wish a white slip or a perpetual blue slip on anyone, including George W. Bush!! (Then again...can I think about that one for a while?)

  21. OK folks, I posted this reply I received from Mr. Roth in the other thread but due to all the conjecture and speculative rantings in this thread, I am posting it here as well: Warren, I think I lost your recent emails to me (since 2/24/09) due to an Outlook crash on my server, so please re-send. In addition to adding two of my clients¡¯ stories to my submission to DoS, I have decided to add yours and the story of another Candle for Love member. I am not adding a lot of stories from other people because this type of complaint has to be very, very carefully focused so that the Consulate doesn't have the opportunity to knock down straw men or answer only those parts of the challenge that they want to and ignore the rest. Still, your story and attempts to obtain information will be a useful addition, partially because you yourself were disciplined in your letters. So, if you could just save me some time by organizing it all. I¡¯d like you to write an index followed by appendices which contain all your correspondences with the U.S. government. Please number the appendices rather than using letters (I will be using letters, so we should pick different schemes to avoid confusion about which appendix belongs to which letter). After your index, place the letters in full. Another way to go about this is to annotate your final letter reciting your case history with ¡° (See Appendix 1)¡±, etc. Actually, that will probably work best. This way I can just add your contribution to my own as a single appendix with everything internally organized by you. Best regards, John F. Roth Law Offices of John F. Roth What I know from this and other emails I've received from him Mr. Roth has already selected the stories he intends to use. I sent off my compilation to him on Thurs 3/4 in the form he asked. It took a lot of work on my part but I believe it's worth it if it can result in any persons future filings ending up with white or terminal blue slips. I didn't do it for myself, I did it for those who follow me. Maybe his letter above will explain why some people who did respond to his request haven't been included in the complaint. He explains why he can't and isn't including EVERY story in it. Roth is NOT a member of CFL and he is not trolling for new clients. He doesn't owe ANYONE on this website any explanation for anything and it is a preposterous idea that anyone here would think otherwise. If he didn't select your story to include, don't be offended and certainly don't go eating sour grapes because of it, or finding more fault because you replied to his firm's webpage and got some canned response. He's answered every email I've sent him and sent me some with info that were not solicited or asked for. My thinking on getting a canned response is that is is some form of error, either on the part of his receptionist or on his hardware. I wouldn't have felt offended if he had decided not to use my story. I didn't send it to him with any grandiose expectations that it could help my white slip situation at all-I did it with the hope that it can prevent future couples from getting boned in the way many of us here on CFL have been by GUZ. I would have just shrugged it off and figured it didn't meet the parameters he had established that would help to really put a squeeze on GUZ's balls. Isn't that what it was all about anyway? Did anyone here send their story to Roth just because they wanted to see their name in print or expect some kind of bonus in the form of GUZ being forced to re-evaluate their case? I wouldn't be second-guessing his intentions, demanding explanations or lashing out at others because I wasn't one of his 'exhibits'. That's akin to taking your ball and going home because you didn't like the call. Personally, regardless of me being one of the horror stories or not, I would still be damn happy to see that SOMEONE is trying to lead a charge on Guangzhou the way so many people here have suggested that it needs to be done. Nobody here has the knowledge or will to do it so an 'outsider' took on the job. Be gracious enough to hope and/or pray that it has the intended result. Why be small when you can be BIG? Even if your story wasn't selected, you're still part of the solution to the problem of Guangzhou!! Splinterman
  22. The guy is roundaboutly telling us that he is acting like a typical VO, who they all think they ARE gods and have the right to make subjective decisions and not stick to the law. My intention when I posted this article was to confirm what everyone here discusses from time to time: how the VOs make decisions about people that they are NOT supposed or allowed by law to make, and how they are so cocksure of themselves that they tailor a regulated process to reflect their own thoughts and feelings, and not what the laws says they can do. Is it a surprise to anyone that this guy thinks he is an expert after only 5 years and makes unfounded assumptions and generalizations? Isn't that what they do in the interview process?
  23. CONGRATS DYLAN!! Way to go for you and Wendy!!! Excellent job preparing for the interview! Splinterman
  24. Hey Georgeandli...was he wearing black socks? Splinterman
  25. Too late, Georgandli!!! They've already got your bedroom antics on tape. Even though you were wearing nothing but a Zorro mask and a pair of black socks, we knew it was you anyway! How did your wife tie you to the ceiling fan like that? LOLOL
