I guess they do UNLESS you are the groom in China and the father of the bride in the US. Talk about a double whammy.

Give the mama 99 grams of 24K gold -- nothing would make her happier. It is available in small bars all the way down to one gram size.

 

My wife never told me about giving money, she told me I would need to give something though. I gave her mother a 10-gram piece of Swiss 24K gold encased in plastic. She really enjoyed that. I also gave her a pashmina cashmere scarf. She accepted it but said it was too nice for her. I insisted that she keep it anyway. When Ping came to America she brought it with her, and it is now in my closet. We send a little money to her mother every month.
