hypoclear
Here are some artists I am glad to say I have shared a time and space with, who's words, thoughts, sounds and heart were brought in to being during my time. Its called creativity, its called spirit, its called soul, its called being, its called..... I am sad to say this era is none of that.. dark, regression, destruction, fear, and untruth. "Those who can not create, destroy." http://www.markjosephsullivanphotography.com/psimon/ download the songs. http://www.lyrics.net.ua/song/118650 American Tune Words & music by Paul Simon Many's the time I've been mistakenAnd many times confusedYes, and often felt forsakenAnd certainly misusedOh, but I'm alright, I'm alrightI'm just weary to my bonesStill, you don't expect to beBright and bon vivantSo far a-way from home, so far away from home I don't know a soul who's not been batteredI don't have a friend who feels at easeI don't know a dream that's not been shatteredor driven to its kneesOh, but it's alright, it's alrightfor we lived so well so longStill, when I think of theroad we're traveling onI wonder what's gone wrongI can't help it, I wonder what's gone wrong And I dreamed I was dyingI dreamed that my soul rose unexpectedlyAnd looking back down at meSmiled reassuringlyAnd I dreamed I was flyingAnd high up above my eyes could clearly seeThe Statue of LibertySailing away to seaAnd I dreamed I was flying We come on the ship they call the MayflowerWe come on the ship that sailed the moonWe come in the a-ge's most uncertain hoursand sing an American tuneOh, and it's alright, it's alright, it's alrightYou can't be forever blessedStill, tomorrow's going to be another working dayAnd I'm trying to get some restThat's all I'm trying to get some rest But I am happy to say... (Feb 7th.. ) Homeward Bound I'm sittin' in the railway station Got a ticket for my destinationOn a tour of one night standsMy suitcase and guitar in handAnd every stop is neatly plannedFor a poet and a one man band Homeward boundI wish I wasHomeward boundHome, where my thought's escapingHome, where my music's playingHome, where my love lies waiting Silently for me Everyday's an endless stream Of cigarettes and magazinesAnd each town looks the same to me The movies and the factoriesAnd every stranger's face I see Reminds me that I long to be Homeward boundI wish I wasHomeward boundHome, where my thought's escapingHome, where my music's playingHome, where my love lies waiting Silently for me Tonight I'll sing my songs againI'll play the game and pretendBut all my words come back to me In shades of mediocrityLike emptyness in harmonyI need someone to comfort me Homeward boundI wish I wasHomeward boundHome, where my thought's escapingHome, where my music's playingHome, where my love lies waitingSilently for meSilently for meSilently for me Mark and Bea and Elizabeth Link to comment

And did you, in an ealrlier post, include John Denver??? Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!I'm guilty of mentioning John Denver but I liked a few of his tunes, just a few. As far as Mick Jagger: I remember some comedian on TV one time said, "Have you ever noticed how Mick Jagger looks like Barney Fife?"........ Funny as hell because I had thought the same thing!............ Link to comment

hypoclear
Well we can't just let this one die.. time to dust off the gloves and come out punching!! Tony Bennet... I just saw the guy on "The Apprentice" singing at that polo match. The voice not so bad for an old guy.. but the sparkle, the swing and the... presence still there. And from the response from the people there still got it.. This is a total package, an entertainer and a survivor.. hmm wonder if he will dust off the American Song book and... ooops!!! he wrote the f*** song book!! Nice try wannabes.. Mark and Bea and Elizabeth.. back from the USA Link to comment
egolessvegan
Speaking of old guys, how about the world's oldest rock and roller, the one and only Mick Jagger. The greatest performer in our lifetime, with due respect to Tony Bennett.Ken Link to comment
