mahko
Hi, Hope all are well. My wife is in China (Chinese national 10 year US green card) and we were wondering if anyone had heard whether USCIS is giving any leeway to staying in China over the 6 month limitations because of flight restrictions/covid-19? Any information would be appreciated! Stay safe! mahko Link to comment
Randy W
Even under normal conditions, you can go, with explanation, up to 1 year. It's up to the Immigrations Officer whether to admit her, but it shouldn't be a problem. Make sure she can explain her circumstances. Link to comment
mahko
Wife has her air ticket that shows she scheduled to come back May 18. But upon calling Hainan they said the company was going out of business so the ticket was not able to be used. She has also moved her parents into her home to care for them during this virus lockdown. 92 and 83. I would think a copy of the planned itinerary would suffice for her staying longer than she had planned. Plus she's worried about the flight and possible infection from close quarters. Although I read where one international flight had 24 people which if someone had it on the flight it may not matter the distance. Wife's immune system is a little low too with the cancer meds she's taking. Link to comment
