C4Racer
We just submitted the all-in-one document packet to NVC.Got the automatic email that this address is strictly for document submission. My wife filed I-130 for her son (IR-2, she is USC). The NVC State web site asks for 60 days to review submitted documents. Does any one have any idea how long we can expect before we get an answer? Is 60 days about right? Will it take longer? Has any one experienced shorter time? My wife is curious how long to expect? Link to comment

If NVC does not return anything (Checklist) from the documents for corrections after the 60 daysthen you'll get case complete and ready for interview. But! if NVC does return anything the 60 day clock is reset again. If you not heard anything from NVC after 60 days, Call NVC. Link to comment
Boringwaiting
How did you send the two photos 21x21 through email? I mean did you send them one digital photo or two photocopies as PDF image? Link to comment
dnoblett
Digital scan them and email. Everything scanned and emailed will need to be brought to the visa interview. Link to comment
C4Racer
74 days and counting since they received documents (22Dec14).Just called NVC. No they have not reviewed the documents.Give them another two weeks and call. Wow, really? This is an IR-2 top priority case along with Spouse and Fiance Visas.Seems the idea there is no wait for the visa is not really true. The wait just for them to look at the documents is killing me. Doug
Consider 3 holidays in that time, Christmas, New Years, & Chinese New Year. Other than that, I don't think they care at all, generally speaking. Link to comment

Yep! The wait is the killer! Though once reviewed and all is good (No RFE) it will be case complete. Then about 7-10 days after that you will get interview notice. NVC gave us a 3 week notice before interview. Worst case would be getting an RFE.Then that 60 day wait starts all over again. Mike Link to comment

The bureaucracy and political corruption runs so deep in American immigration, one would be better off using the Vegas roulette wheel and putting their life savings on black. Or maybe red. But, at least with American immigration you can get your money back if you choose the wrong color, right? Edited March 7, 2015 by SloppyZhou_ (see edit history) Link to comment

(CLF posting rules) Mike (C4Racer) has asked some very valid questions in this thread and has a lot of merit to the new comers of the forum.I myself have just finished going down this road (Again) for the second time as has mike. He is only a few days/weeks behind me and should be able to see the light at the end of this long tunnel. Please lets keep on topic and focus on the questions at hand.We have family's life's at stake here. My name is also: Mike (AKA Nuworld) Link to comment

(CLF posting rules) Indeed CLF has always been sensitive about keeping politics out of the forums. Well, excluding the old days when they had a forum to discuss politics and it got ugly. That's why I carefully worded the content of my post to show the reality of what folks are facing in today's world of immigration. It's a world where very little is sure. Currently, China holds one of the highest visa rejection rates in the world. That is especially true for K1. That's not politics, it's a documented fact. Fingers crossed for C4Racer that the paperwork moves through quickly so that he and his wife can at least put that part of the process behind them. Wishing good luck! At least this is all in China, and not a K visa. I have big issues with the USCIS folks attitudes on state side regardless of visa type. C4Racer will do OK over there. Link to comment
