I am finding 2 weeks to be a sweet spot on Google Flights

I like this, Dan. Never saw this tool from Google before - saved for future reference.

It is quite cool to watch it, at first shows no prices, and then as the search engine chews on it you start seeing prices populate next to dates.

I really like this google tool. I did not know its existence. Thanks

Handy for estimating costs, we used it last week to shop for airline tickets for my wife last week.

Only down side is clicking book got us the number for China Eastern Airlines in NY, wife ended up calling their office in Beijing using Skype, and took an hour or so for the agent to get the details right and sell her the tickets. But the price was as quoted by Google.

Can't you use China Eastern Airlines' website and booked the tickets directly from there?

The China eastern site quoted a higher price and also would not include the US side domestic flights on Delta Airlines to and from Rochester NY by calling them directly they were able to book the Delta flights and China flights together at the low price quoted by Google.

Last time I used Goggle also and got round trip for 8xx? Anyway, we could not get hold of China Eastern, and their website does not sell the connections for here in the USA. Only AA has direct out of Dallas.

So, I used their price and managed to get the same price or within 3-4 dollars of the same price on Expedia. It was a crazy ticket, AA to LAX, CE to China, then CE back to NYC where it was Delta back to DFW. But I was very happy.

And beware of dogs sniffing everywhere.

Actually, this article might be more pertinent to the members here:

http://www.cheapair.com/blog/travel-tips/when-to-ignore-our-advice-and-book-your-flight-as-early-as-possible/

this being the list exceptions to their rule, one of them being for international flights, Asia in particular being 129 days out.

There was a thread recently about ticket sites from within China; I can't find it and I wonder if a flights/airfare sticky can be pinned to our pinned section?

What are some of the good sites from within China for China->US->China RT's?

Thanks,
Greg

Thanks, Steve, that's one of them and I'm finding good prices, too.

I'll send this to the GF and see if she finds this better than texting her agent.

Greg

Edit: whoa! Spoke too soon! The good price I found from Beijing to Denver was a 48 hour haul ... I'll keep working with it. Normal flights were in the CNY 13,068 range ...
