When To Buy An Airline Ticket

Greg, Hello!! There are many Travel sites to try. People on this site say that they like the google site.

I tried it and it seemed easy to use.

I like this site but the link that I use at work gives the prices in Dollars and not RMB. I threw in Flights from Beijing to Denver (RT) with a stay of about 35 days ( for the end of June and for about 35 days) and the prices ranged from from 10,600 to 13,600 RMB and some of the flights were about 20-26 hours. The problem with site is that you can not books flights on this site. You have to take the info down and have a travel agent book the flight or you go to the individual airlines and have them book the flight. I have done this with delta flights. I put some dates in the Delta site and I was getting 10,064 RMB.Prices can vary a lot depending on when you travel. Xmas time the prices are about 80-100 % sometimes. ( that is the time that I normally travel ) When is the girlfriend planning to visit? For how long?

 

I have used cheapoair also, Ctrip and there is another for Chinese domestic site but I can't remember the site's name at the moment.

Greg I just wrote a long windy post and lost it when I tried to post it. Try looking at this site:

It will give you possible flights but unfortunately you can't buy your tickets at that site . But you can find the flight info . I did it for Beijing to Denver, RT, end of June, 35 days. Prices from 10,060 to 11,600 RMB. It is s good starting piont. I then went to Delta and found some flights for 10,064 RMB June 25 to July 29. 20-25 hour flying time..

 

Other member have said that Google is a good site. I have also used Cheapoair and Ctrip. I think I have also used elong.

Ahhhh. I guess I didn't lose that first post. How far are you from the Garden of The Gods? That might be a nice place to visit.

Thanks. For me, personally, I start with Expedia. Google would not be working right now from China, of course! It seems to be on an extended blackout right now.

 

I see ITA uses Google software - it is returning to me the same info as Expedia, but it is slick. Http://www.cheapoair.com does seem to come in below the others - even for the same flights. I'll have to see how it works from China (I'm in the U.S.).

 

I will definitely forward those two along.
