OLD GLORY SKYDIVER

I hope this works this time. I recorded this during the pre-race ceremonies for the "Nationwide" series race at Richmond International Raceway. I was there with my brother and my son, Dallas. I keep trying to think of some words to describe what it's lilke to see something like this on the 8th anniversary of the attacks. There are no words available in any language. Pictures speak a thousand words. To think that some folks honestly believe that NASCAR fans don't have a clue of what reality is. My response to them is; hush up and watch this clip!

"IF" this doesn't work let me know asap. Then I'll figure out a way to get it where my CFL friends can watch it.

btw.....feel free to check out the other vids I have on there.........

While it must have been a great spectacle, I knew they would fail at the end.

United States Code Title 4 Chapter 1 § 8 ( b )

Sorry, but few things get me riled up like this does.

I think I know exactly what you mean. Something about it even touching the ground at all. Unless, (which wasn't visible from our seats) there were people on the ground to keep that from happening. Even so, you have to admit the "spectacle" was better than a snowball.....lol

I didn't see anyone catching it. It wasn't as bad as when I was sitting in a restaurant and the Miss Budweiser people come in with their leather jackets with the flag as the pattern. I just about had an aneurysm!

But yeah, better than a snowball!

I've seen the same "spectacle" before and always wondered how many of the fans present even know anything about the way the flag is supposed to be handled. There's (as you know quite well) an actually strict set of do's and dont's for it. If I can find them I'll post them here.

As some of you well know proper etiquette for Old Glory can at times be tedious especially if one is not familiar with the "rules". I can't recall exactly which website I saw but it was a discussion forum on nothing but this flag. I can tell by some of the responses that these "people" have never been educated on this subject. To that end I offer this link for you all. The easiest way to avoid anyone getting angry over an improper display of the flag is to STOP! Before you display the flag anywhere there is no shame in looking up the rules for the purpose you wish. There are of course many, many links available that have this same information. This is just the first one I found this morning. Maybe there are some of our spouses and SO's that would like to know a thing or two about this subject.

If that's not deep enough try this on for size.

That's a pretty good one, but I like the Cornell pages.

It's crazy to see some of the insanity, and incorrect displays, even in government.

Perhaps there will be times when our Chinese family members will take the time to look at any of the links we have here already. Then again there are some of us that would benefit from re-reading this information. These things are not intended to sound as if we (Americans) think we're any better than anyone else. Instead, it is my desire that those who wish to learn more about the American people will see these things and realize that we look at our flag and we are very serious about that for which it stands.
