georgeandli
I don't know about the GIV-24 thing. If you can, maybe get it done and take to ACH before hand. I do know they won't mail the visa outside Guangdong[?] provence. If it all goes smooth at the interveiw 2-3 days before you can pick it up at the post office is normal. There was one case I read of here where the guy made arrangements to pick it up at the consulate himself. Link to comment
Guest Dylan W
Will you be arriving in GUZ for the interview soon? Are you in GUZ? ACH is tomorrow afternoon. Can you make it? Link to comment
chilton747
I hear that the GIV-24 is no longer required. If you look at the Consulate's website http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/fo...and_packets.htm you will see that it is no longer required. I wouldn't sweat it. Getting the visa after getting the pink is usually 2-3 days but it can take longer as in some cases here. You need to plan on staying 1 week if you can just in case. Good luck!!! Link to comment

Stephen
ACH- American Citizen Hour. I attended 2 of them. It's where you go to the consulate take a number and can talk to a Visa Officer. Some people think it makes a difference. I don't know if it does or not but my wife didn't have any problems at the interview.
