The Jeff
So we just bought a new computer, an iMac with a 1 terabyte hard drive. It's really a nice computer. The only problem with it though is that it doesn't have a very good QQ application. QQ for mac only has basic file sharing and chat functions, no video or voice chat features. So we were thinking of loading Vista or XP on the unit using bootcamp in order to use these programs, but can't decide on which one. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance. The Jeff
But what are the differences between the two OS? Loads of folks say vista is shit, but why? What's so bad about it?
warpedbored
I have vista on my laptop. It's OK but not as easy for me to navigate as XP. I prefer XP.

Richard & Li
Our son's computer has Vista. He is having issues with some QQ components. We've read that QQ is updating to be compatible with Vista. But, for problem free QQing: XP.
warpedbored
I had problems with QQ when I loaded it on XP a couple years ago.
Trigg
I've got Vista on one computer and XP on the other four. Vista sucks!! It's slow and over does the protection thing--It's a royal pain. XP is light years better!

MikeXiao
I have Vista on two computers and XP on the other two. I am used to XP and love it, but have vista on my new computer and I am learning it. It does over due the protection stuff, but is improving. As of this moment, I would say that XP is best, but Vista is gaining.
Guest WenDylan
I will switch when there is more driver and software support. I am a very quick learner, but I don't want to even learn if I can't do at least some things the way I am used to.

"Support for Windows XP Service Pack 2 ends on July 13, 2010No Change to Windows XP Mainstream and Extended Support end dates Support for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) will end on July 13, 2010. So whatever is in the channel will eventually dry up and that¡¯s it. OEM versions will still be available for a while or until they decide to end it too. When I place orders for OEM laptops, there is always an option that comes with the laptop¡ Vista installed, downgradeable to Windows XP Pro. ¨C That should tell you something! I had 98 mastered and XP was driving me mad. Now I have Vista and I like it.
Batmaniac
Adium is a great program for Macs. It supports 18 messengers including QQ. Try it out. I have my girl set up on it. Hmm . . . I just looked at it again. Maybe there's no video on Adium. Edited December 22, 2008 by Batmaniac (see edit history)
