As you can see on visajourney.com, CR1 in VSC is much slower than in CSC. Why? What can we do except for waiting?

We have patience to wait but it is so unfair!

Hi Amanda,

I warned Richard when he first started the Visa Process that the Vermont Service Center was allot longer and slower than California Service Center. That is why I decided to go the K3/K4 route, Knowing that the Vermont Service Center was very slow.

I asked a visa specialist at Vermont Service Center why they were slow and the visa specialist told me that Vermont gets about twice to three times as much petitions as California.

I know what the people on VJ are going through. I post there every once in a while and have friends there.

But...Amanda...you have to realize that the Vermont Service Center is not just processing petitions from China,,they are processing petitions from all over the world, so it is only natural that their processing time are going to be slow, but it should not be this slow..... :P

Here are the times I pulled off the USCIS:

Vermont...Is processing February 26,2008 petitions now.

I-130

Petition for Alien Relative U.S. citizen filing for a spouse, parent,

or child under 21 February 26, 2008

California...is indicating that petitions from start to finish is 6 months.

I-130

Petition for Alien Relative U.S. citizen filing for a spouse, parent,

or child under 21 6 Months

So,,I think Richard filed in April,,so if the times are correct,, than Richard's and your petition should be getting processed in the next month or two.

Amanda...if you want to follow your case than go to this web site and sign up for your case number:

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

go to:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

and sign up for case status on line.

I am truly sorry about this but when I filed my petition I knew that Vermont was 6 to 7 months behind on I-130 verses I-129F.

As I have told everyone on VJ..just hang in there because your time will come.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your information!

Richard filed in July and we did not file for K3+K4.

We have waited for 4 months.

I know there will be a long way to go.

But since Richard will return to meet me in person on November 14, the next 3 weeks will be quickly passed.

Wish your wife get pink!!

Hi amanda,

Thank you for your well wishes......

From the time I filed with Vermont to the Time Vermont sent it out was 5 and a half months.

Also, I filed both an I-130 and a I-129F with Vermont.

So I would expect that you probably have another one to two months to go for your petition clears Vermont or less.

I think you should subscribe to the online USCIS because they will notify you when they send your petition to NVC.

Hi Amanda,

Thank you for posting those graphs.

I share your frustration with the VSC. I received my NOA-1 from VSC on May 7, 2008 and I still have not received approval of my I-130 for CR-1. As you can see from my timeline, it has been over 6 months.

Yesterday, I received a letter from USCIS... thinking it was finally my NOA-2... I was so excited and my heart was racing! But I opened it only to find out that it was just a notice that they have transferred my case to CSC.

So now I'm not sure if that is good news or bad news. The processing time for I-130's at CSC is 6 months... but did my petition go to the end of the line at CSC or will it be processed according to date of submission? I have to think that it must be processed according to submission date and that it might get done sooner now that it is out of VSC... otherwise, why transfer it, right?

If anyone can enlighten me as to what it means to have your case transferred... please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Shadowman,

The reason they are moving your file to CSC is because Vermont is so overloaded that they transfer petitions from Vermont to CSC. I think you will keep your date of submission and it will probably move faster, but do not quote me on that.

They did this once before moving petitions from Vermont to CSC about 2 to 3 months ago, but I don't know the out come.

The people on VJ site may know. But Vermont is very slow.

shadowman,

my cr1 was transfered to fairfax, VA, due to the fact that VSC is overloaded. you can see from my time line that my cr1 was approved in VA within the month that was transfered. it may be a good thing since your cr1 is not waiting in VSC to be processed. good luck.

Shadowman, you should get your approval within a month, that has been the average with other transfers

Richard did it. I have been sitting in the headquarter telling him what to do, ha ha ha :P :P

Hi Amanda,

The transfer of some of the petitions to CSC maybe a blessing for you.

The reason why is because if yours does not get transferred it still may speed up things for you at VSC.
