My sweet Fang finally got her green card today!!!!! We are both so happy!!!!

What's next? We already have social security card, state ID, work authorization and bank accounts in her new married name. Should we go back to social security to get card without restrictions (that red label across top)? Anything else to update?

Thank you all!!!!!!!!!!! : ) :) :)

Michael & Fang,

Once again...

 :D :D CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D :D :D

What a wonderful week for you two and us both! Green cards aplenty this week.

I think you have it all covered. Although, we will have the restriction removed from Wen Li's SS card as it is yet another source of pride for her to have it removed and her sense of being the same as myself!

We wish you the happiest future ahead.

Much care,

Clayton & Wen Li

Congratulations!

We went to the SSA to remove it and had them issue a new one. If a new employer ask to see it in to future you won't have to explain why you still have the restrictions across the top of the card.

If you haven't already started building a folder to collect evidence of accounts and other things with both of your names on it, do so now. Make a list of what else you can open or add her name to. Then start throwing all that evidence in the folder in which you'll need to file for the I-751. When the time comes to file for the adjustment of status you won't have to start from scratch to search for the docs that you'll need. At that time all you'll have to do is list the all the evidence you threw in the folder that you're submitting and fill out the form.

Great advice and appreciated nice wishes from you all!!!!

Yes, accounts being put in both our names, and saving these changes in a folder.

Thank you all so much and yes, driving will be a must sometime soon...perhaps the scariest part of this process! :0 (Fortunately, additional car and insurance not affordable at this time!!!! : )

Hope Lulu's green card is not too far away. She got her drive license today

I am also so happy for you and Lulu!!!!

You'll have to tell us more about the driving thing. I know it is coming for me down the road, but my sweetheart has never driven and I can't imagine how difficult this will be!!! (although we have ALL been down a pretty rough road, huh?)
