let's get back to work!

Recommended Posts

OK, it seemed that we were just getting going when we got off track a bit. If I understand correctly, Luke, then Russ and Cathy received clearances, and Rob's problem is at least temporarily resolved - so who's next on the list? This was working - we just need to keep our eye on the ball, no?

Don - you probably know who is the next hard core case that we should get after.

If anyone wants me to send a letter on their behalf, please pm me the particulars and I'll do my best.

Dave

I'm glad the process seems to be working. I've tried getting an original response from anyone regarding my fiance's case, but to no avail. Just same old "await required security-related vetting through an interagency

process" The following is my timeline.

NO1-March 21, 2002

NO2-May 2, 2002

P3- September 2002

GZ requests namecheck-September 30, 2002

currently awaiting clearance (over TEN MONTHS now)

awaiting interview appointment

I'd appreciate any help others could offer.

Sincerely,

Leisha

At this point, I suggest you urgently contact the consulate, independently of what this group can do to help you, to see if there is still an "active" name check..especially if you are not aware of any ( now so infamous )

" resubmitts" done on your case.

Some people have been resubmitted zillions of time in a matter of 2 or 3 months.. Surely, either you have been, or the case needs a jump start on that ridiculous resub business

Good luck to you Leisha..

Now!!!! For real, people. Let us help Leisha with letters to those that count. I have written many for a lot of you. Please chip in and write a letter to Harty or the Attorney General to help expedite this case. Thanx....Jim

Thanks for everyone's help. At this point, there's still no clear explanation why my case has been pending for so long. Guangzhou sent the necessary resubmissions.....a DOS visa specialist said I may need to provide more information for the namecheck......the FBI wouldn't talk to me.

Through everyone's assistance, I think the DOS is actually checking into the problem now, so I will just wait until this Friday (one week since previous call) to phone DOS again.

You are welcome to continue sending letters. I can't tell whether they are still necessary.

If you PM me, I'll provide the case information. Thanks again, Leisha.

Don is correct. It is DOS that is the problem and you need to write, or have others write, FAXes, letters, and e-mails to all of the DOS high ups that you can think of. The security checks were probably completed but have not been typed onto the puter. <_<

Yes, finally after being lost in the system my clearances have been completed. Thanks to all who wrote letters on my fiance's behalf. I hope these crazy glitches will all be ironed out so ensuing cases proceed much more smoothly for everyone.

I can't thank you enough. After 11 months pending clearance, I can truly smile for a change.

GREAT! Be prepared to receive your interview date in short order...when I got the word that Han Lin's name check was done...and my time lines are very similar to yours...we thought "oh we'll have until october". Then bang, P4 and an interview on 2 september. Yikes. Luckily we had everything together but I could not go to the interview because of very pressing business affairs. :( g'luck! :( :D :) :D :D :P :P :)

Thanks for the heads up. I'm sure your gal will do fine during the interview. Just keep your phone lines open, so you can hear the good news as soon as she gets that white slip into her hands.

Yes, our timelines are quite similar. I began this process mid-March 2002, so I know how great that victory phone call will be.
