Rice cookers sell for ~$25 to $30. Link to comment
TootTaLu
We bought one like this from Ebay. Lily had used this brand in china. It works great. Zojirushi http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/hm/hmddistributors/ZOJNSMYC10WK.JPGPersonally I prefer Korean rice cooker. It looks like the picture above, but it works like a pressure cooker, with a little pressure steam valve on the top. Whats the big deal anyway?Rice cookers are for wimps.Another new fangled invention that is slowing China's Road To Peaceful Development.Rice cookers are for city people. Two recipis for American electric stoves, using the small sized burner: 1) Put washed rice in pot, with "one knuckle" of water.Thats water from your fingertip to your first knuckle, about 1/2 inch, regardless of the amount of rice.Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, lowest setting and put the lid on and cook.Ready in 20 minutes. 2)Put washed rice in pot with one knuckle of water.Bring to a boil.Boil for 10 minutes, reduce heat to simmer, lowest setting.Cover and cook for 10 minutes. If you have a gas stove, its best you buy a Korean rice cooker. Link to comment
Dan R
Zojirushi is the most expensive brand from Japan. We bought one for a friends wedding present in China. There are so many out now. Some will cook a large variety of items and even have white, brown and wild rice settings. Link to comment
jim_julian
I have a great two-part rice cooker. Part #1 is a beautiful lady with a wonderful heart and part #2 is a stainless steel pot with a lid. Works great and has a "lifetime of happiness" guarantee. Aussie in love
Jane has always sworn by her pressure cooker and rice cooker but she is now converted. We use a simple plastic container and nuke the rice for 7 minutes in the microwave. We use the absorption method, so getting the correct rice to water ratio worked out is critical. Once you have that mastered, it is quick, clean, no mess, no fuss rice every time. Link to comment
notrevorich
I have an Aroma model arc-838. It works fantastic! Where is a good place to shop for good quality rice cookers? I don't know what a quality cooker is but SAMs club has one that seems to be OK for $25 Link to comment
jkobman
I waited to buy Wen Xia a rice cooker until she got here. We got a nice one at Target. Link to comment
