Trigg
I know that we have our problems here in the US and there are those of you the may eventually move to China. And there are those that would give up the US citizenship for various reasons. Me, I'm glad my fiancee has chosen me and is coming to the USA. This will be her new home and I am damn proud to share it with her: America God bless the USA. As aye, Jim I'm with you Jim, America - Love it... Nice statement Lee. or leave it! sez Uncle Sam I know a dumb ass statement when I see one. This statement was dumb in the sixties and it is dumb today. One would think we have progressed in our ignorance in the past 40 years--apparently not!!It ranks right up there with "Be American, buy American" which is one of the most un-American things I've ever heard. Sorry guys!Parties over~!Turn out the lightsDon't let the door hit youon the way out! Same attitude those who have suffered from the side affects of Agent Orange have had to put up with for years.Ya, not much you can tell me about agent orange that I don't know first hand. Last time I heard the infamous words 'love it or leave it' I left-for almost four years, came back excpecting change-looks like It didn't happen-arggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!!!!! Link to comment
paula
thanks guys, I am feeling much better here today. Woman is very strange, also sensitive sometimes. The weather here today is not good, raining all day, which affect my mood a lot. I miss my parents badly. My husband drove me to go shopping today, and we bought a lot food in walmart, and we went to cloth store, named "oldnavy" as it is for sale up to 75%. I bought 4 shirts for myself, and 2 for my brother and brother-in-law. They are very cheap after discount, even cheaper than china, but honestly the clothes here is not as pretty as in china. I am thinking I will let my family buy me clothes in China not here We went to another chinese buffee, the owner of resturant is from Taiwan, but waiter is from china mainland. We talked in Chinese. I was very happy and tipped him $2. Anyway you guys are right, I need to be patient and I will be better here after I get my car and job. Link to comment

warpedbored
The thread is turning too political. Sure most of us are glad we are American but we are also in a relationship with a person who is from a country that is diametrically opposed to ours politically. Sensitivity is called for here. While you may love your country and spout off nonsense like "love it or leave it" your sweet heart loves her/his country as well even if they might not agree with some of the politics. "Love it or leave it" doesn't go very far in making them feel welcome here. Link to comment

Do you guys have scheduled trips back to China during the year. I get exactly what you are saying because when I was visiting my So, I was crazy about her and China but I always had this discombobulated(confused) feeling like I was way out of place. It is just a feeling of being alone in a far away place and being different. I was ready to get on the plane and come back sorta. As soon as I was back for 2 days I immediately missed China and my So.Sometimes the best cure for homesickness is to go home. I have been trying to come up with soultions before she gets here or at least prepare her for it. I told her to look at the first three months as an evaluation period. There is always a way back home in time. In america you can love it or kind of like it or mildly tolerate it or hate it to death if you feel like it. You can flucuate between all four if you want and many people do. Link to comment
