Just found out today upon calling the DOS that the P4 is on the way and the interview date is to be on October 11, 2006!

I had just finished mailing off for another china "L" tourist visa to go see my SO today, then called the DOS! Wow! Will she be surprised when she reads the cell phone text message when she wakes up tonight! My visiting her was to break up this terrible waiting time! Oh well, I'll still go to china for her brother's wedding and be there for support at the consulate the day of the interview too!

Needless to say, Bill & Rongjiao are (or will be when she awakes) very happy!

congrats !!

when did you originally file your I-129F?

Are you NOA1 and NOA2 dates correct ? Almost a year wait at the visa center ?

I sent the I-129F in the mail on February 5, 2005. I actually had to call the USCIS to get the official NOA1 date of 2-15-05! Yes, we waited 11 months and four days from NOA1 to NOA2! The NVC went quickly though!

And again about today, I never thought we'd get the P4 after they had the case on hold because my SO's son was still listed on the original petition. We found out after submitting the petition that he could not come until the father releases him or until he is 16. We will of course petition for him at a later date.

Don't call the consulate: Fractured and unreliable information! DOS does excellent! I hope I've answered your questions and of course, good luck to you as well!

Good to know the interview dates close to mine, Oct. 10.

02-27-2006 filed K1

03-08-2006 NOA1

05-11-2006 NOA2

05-25-2006 NVC revd

06-02-2006 NVC sent to GUZ

08-06-2006 P3 revd

08-07-2006 P3 returned

09-09-2006 P4 sent

10-10-2006 interview scheduled according to DOS

When my fiance called me about the interview date and I said it was earlier than I expected from others' timeline, he said we deserved it. This waiting period is hard for us, but it strengthens us. I hope the interview will go smoothly, and finally we can say we make it together.

One month P3 to P4 is about right for a pre-IMBRA K visa. A 9/9 P4 could have an interview date any day in October. It's a crap-shoot which day.

I filed (sent in mail) my I-129F (K1) on 2-5-05. By telephone with USCIS, I found that my NOA1 was dated 2-15-05. It took 11 months and four days to get the NOA2!
