I have seen you on here for a while .And I have to say I feel bad for you .And you have probally done every thing possible in your situation from talking to your state rep and senator to making email's to guz and calling the nvc and the dos .I am just trying to get through this as well as you .But what about moving there for a while and liviung in china and being with her this way for a while or do you have more commitment's as I do so this is not possible I live here in texas in Austin actually and there are so many illegal's here it is amazing. And they have the ability to come here and to do all it is unfortunate when some one tries to do thing's the right way with our goverment and they are penilized foor there right effort. It seem's our goverment attack's immigration into many different way's and none of the effort's come together .I understand as you that the goverment want'sd to insure the legitimacy of a relationship and the intention's of new immigrant's but to make some one wait more than 3 to 6 month's for this process from to start to finish is not exceptable ,And in your case it is reprehensable.I hope that it is soon for you to be able to be with the one you love and hte rest of this goes better for you

Thx Paul,

Yes I have done everything possible to find out what the prob is. Waiting is the thing we can do. Senators no help. Congressman no help. Letters, phone calls. I've spoken to everyone about this and, no help.

I'm going to china in september for a visit. That should help us both quite a bit.

I am doing much better then my fiance. She is so upset at our gov and I can do nothing except try to explain that this is how our gov operates.

I really feel for you and your SO. This is absolutely wrong. I would be calling DOS on a daily basis, calling and emailing every state/federal representative in my state and making my name well known to everyone in the system. I can imagine your frustration, but unless and until someone in a higher position gets active on your petition, nothing is going to happen. You are lost in a black hole and someone needs to find you. Raise hell with everyone and anyone you can think of that can contact the powers to be to get off their A** and find where the problem exists. I pray this will get resolved soon for you my friend.

You say exactly what I have done and do on a daily basis. I call DOS every single day. They all know who I am as soon as I mention my fiance's name.

DOS has sent emails to the name check department every month since May. GUZ has also sent an inquiry into what the delay is. Everyone seems to be trying to help. But I think all their hands are tied because of the secrecy of everything.

Everytime I discuss our situation with someone I meet through my job, they can not believe this is what we all must go through just to bring our loved ones into the USA. It takes us a week to get a visa to go into China, but it can take anywhere from 6 months to several years for someone from China to get into the USA. PURE BS.

I've become ashamed and embarrassed of our gov and I'm just sick and disgusted that my fiance is being treated like a common criminal.

I agree 100%

You need to call, or better yet, visit your congressperson!! Their single main reason for being in office is to help their constituents (you) deal with problems arising from dealing with the federal government. You'll have to sign a consent form authorizing them to inquire on your case in your behalf. I believe they are your best bet to get the ball rolling.

Considering how far behind you are, I would also contact both of your senators. They can also inquire on your behalf and can ask questions as to why it takes the USCIS 10 months for them to do their jobn!!!

You pay taxes, make your elected officials work for you!!

If I was in your situation and my elected officials were to busy with 3 martini lunches to bother with me, I would write to your local newspapers and radio stations and magazines to point out the injustice of the system and how can our country be protected from terrorists if it take them 10 months to decide if one immigrant is a terrorist or not!!!!

Give em hell because, contrary as one person would have you believe, they are NOT doing a helluva job!!!!

Thx cosmiclobster,

I have already contacted both Senators and am waiting on any results my congressman may receive from his inquirey. The Senators were a complete waste of time. The so called assistants really don't seem to have much common sence.

You do make a very good point as to how can we find the real terroists if it takes 10 months to do a simple background check on an innocent chinese woman.

I think I will contact our Senators office again and give them an ultimatum. Make something happen or I contact our news stations.

I would not give an ultimatium like that. Use the power of word suggestion. Pose it as a question to them. "Do you think if I were to inquire at the newspaper and giving your name for reference in the matter, it would help for the newspaper to do an article, or perhaps try to contact the goverment for me?" "I would really like your advice on this matter, but I don't want to cause you or your office any problems, that is why I am asking you about this". "I know newspapers love to write and twist the words around, but I really can't think of anything else to do now". "Do you think there is any way you could check again and try to get a more conclusive and direct answer, as I know you have much more experience than the newspaper in handeling these kind of matters".

236987[/snapback]

Yes, Mike makes a very good point! You don't want to piss off the people that can help you the most.

Tact is VERY important and you must choose your words and approach carefully!!

There's no need to incite your congressperson as they are the ones trying to help you and they have very limited power in this situation. They can only make an official inquiry as to the status of your case and I believe that the USCIS must reply within 72 hours, even if the reply is that "they are working on it" or it's a case of "HUTAS".

The real question now is: did your congressperson ask you to sign a consent form? If he did not, then you are getting stroked and you need to step up the offensive. I moved during my visa petition and as such had 2 congresspersons at bat for me. Both of them said it was required of them to have a signed consent form for them to inquire as to the status of my case.

Without stepping on anyone's toes and without causing one of our elected officials to lose face, you need to let them know that you are tired of waiting and if need be you will keep asking questions and keep getting more people involved in this until there is some action in this matter.

Good luck!! B)
