yuliki
I sent a Personal Message to one of the member of CFL yesterday afternoon as bellow and got his kind reply too, but still not quite understand?? QUESTION: Hi, Good afternoon, My Hubby right now is preparing the I-864, Our question is:Do both three years tax returns and the I-864 itself need to be nortaried or only the tax returns? Thanks very much. I am presuming you have done with this form. Lin REPLY: I just notarized the I-864.I included 1 tax return, 4 years of W-2s (the tax statement), and proof of employment. But I've made mistakes before, this is a good question to post in the forums. Edited April 24, 2006 by yuliki (see edit history) Link to comment
Randy W
The tax returns do not need to be notarized. Link to comment
RivaRich
Should the W-2's be the originals? Thanks! Link to comment
Feathers268
Should the W-2's be the originals? Thanks!209521[/snapback]Originals would be best. Onother option is to order transcripts from the IRS. You will get a print out of each year's return plus the W-2 info. This is a form the VO will have seen before and souldn't have any problems with it.As to the above question, the notarization is for the I-864 to proclame it to be true and by the person who has signed it. LeeFisher3
The requirements for the I-864 changed earlier this year and only require 1 years tax returns instead of 3. Link to comment
obxtrainman
Your husbands employer might be able to supply past copies of tax w-2 forms. it would be quicker, and free. Point being, they don't have to be original, nor from the IRS. The I-864 does have to be notarized,,he can do this for free at his bank. Link to comment
yuliki
Thanks everyone. I am very clear right now. Since I just got my P3 last week and we are doing the DCF. So the I-864 still requires three year tax returns. It may be slightly different to other VISAS. All the best to you. Lin Link to comment
