Hello every one, Does any one have the idea about how to get the permission to come back to the US? My wife and I will move back to China in the coming january of 2016 because my parents in law are 81 years old and need to be taken good care of. My wife is a green card holder and we probably won't come back to the US for over one year. We heard that we need to get my wife a permission to allow her come back to the US in the future. Our question is: 1. How to get the permission for my wife to come back to the US if we leave the country over one year? 2. Where to check the related information (web)? 3. How long normally it will take to get the permission? Thank you very much for your help! Richard

FYI: The Houston Consulate will be at the Chinese Church in Miami mentioned above in post #2. They will be there on "Black Friday" November 23rd, 2012.

My wife's Chinese Passport will be expiring and Houston is the consulate that Florida folks use. We will make a trip to Houston if we have to but I've seen that the consulate has gone to Miami in the past to do an "outreach" type of thing. Anybody know if there's one coming up? So far we haven't been able to reach the Houston Consulate by phone. Thanks, Richard

I looked at the cost of these on the American Express website very recently and ¥1000 costs $165.93 which equals an exchange rate of 6.03 That looks lousy to me. I've always taken U.S. dollar travelers cheques and exchanged them for yuan in China. I seem to remember the rate was good and the fees were quite small. I bank with Bank of America and they said they don't offer Travelers Cheques anymore when I called the other day. You can buy the Yuan version online from their website at $170.30 for ¥1000 which equals an exchange rate of 5.87 The current yuan rate is here -> ¥ Rate Link

To avoid the same problem in the future, try copying your big bunch of typed words to the clipboard before hitting the send button. That way you can just quickly paste them back for a second try... or a third try... or a ... LOL I Wish you two the best! Richard
