James
We sent out P3 back to Guangzhou, for K3 visa, on April 19. As of this morning they still don't have it in their system, according to the State Department. Is that a longer-than-normal amount of time? Link to comment
cosmiclobster
I think 2 weeks is too soon to panic. It should show up at the end of next week though. Good luck! Link to comment
tex99
NVC sent my case by DHL to GZ on April 15th. As of Friday the 29th, they told me by email that they had still not received it. Unrelated to the visa, I mailed a big manila envelope to Beijing on the 22nd and it got there on the 27th. I've heard of people getting their stuff tied up in "customs" though I don't know why. GZ may let mail sit for a while. If it makes you feel better, I expect that when those case files are stacked up on the floor, they make a great footrest for your VO. Link to comment

That was the one thing so far that actually took the expected time for me. Link to comment

The Chinese customs officials in GZ just hold any mail that comes to the consulate? Are they reading it? Hoarding it? Link to comment
Feathers268
It's probably because it is "official documents" I honestly don't have any idea, I've sent things myself without near the problems. I would be willing to bet that it's just something that the consulate does, and it has nothing to do with the Chinese government. Link to comment

James
Called the State Department again today. They said they still haven't received the P3 we mailed on April 19. Link to comment
david_dawei
Did you get a tracking number to see if it made it to GUZ or not? Our P3 was sent EMS and I could track it and see that it at least was received in GUZ .. whether they threw it into a pile and used it as a foot rest is another issue.. But I knew it was there... James
Nope, no tracking number. Did you ever check with Guangzhou or the Dept. of State to see if it got entered? Link to comment
James
What do you suppose would happen if we sent the P3 documents again? Link to comment
lynne
I'd wait till after the holiday is over. I plan on calling DOS on Monday to see if there is any information on ours but I don't expect it will be in the computer yet but you are about 1 1/2 weeks ahead of us from when you sent your P3. I hope you hear something soon. Link to comment

I know that most people call DOS, but does anything really prohibit us from calling GUZ? Link to comment
