Hey there everyone! I'm happy to say that our I-130 paperwork was accepted and we are on to Step 2! Now I have a few more questions: #1- We were under the impression that my husband would get his vaccinations during the medical examination before the interview. However, in the DS-260 application, they asked if he had documentation showing that his vaccinations were in line with US requirements. He doesn't. Is this going to be a problem? What should we do? (There is an explanation box; right now we just have that he expected to do them on the medical exam day.) #2- I quit my teaching job here over a year ago so we could try to have a baby. (My job was stressing me out.) Will we be judged if we put my occupation as 'homemaker'? Somehow that seems better than 'unemployed'. I do sell some handmade jewelry here and there and do odd jobs for exchange of goods, but I don't think that counts as 'occupation.' I report all of this as 'other' income for my taxes. Any ideas what's the best way to fill in this category? #3- They also asked what job my husband intends to do when we return to the States. He'd like to get a job in his field, but I don't know that that will be possible till we get there. I know he could probably get a construction job or something like with a relative for the first few months. Should we try to actually secure that for him first before filing the DS-260 or just file it and tell them about the job or potential job in the interview? Thoughts? (The same goes for me-- we have potential job ideas, but nothing concrete yet. We were planning to show them at the interview.) Thanks for all of your help!
