I just spent the better part of three hours figuring this out and thought I'd put some instructions out there for anyone who is attempting to do this. I did this with an iPhone 5 that had iOS 7. Hopefully at some point someone makes these instructions into an app. Part I) Getting the file 1) Connect your iPhone, and download iClover:http://www.iclover.com/ 2) Once its installed and your iPhone is plugged in, open iClover. 3) Install this app and connect your iPhone to the computer. 4) Click on "File System" on the tool bar. 5) Open the following directory path -> Apps(User) -> 微信 6) This should display two folders. One will be all zero's and have one file in it. The other folder is the one we want, mine is named "3299b657a598b94d97eea206c1102bb3" 7) Click on this folder and then the "DB" folder. 8) There should be a file named "MM.SQLITE", right click this and from the drop down menu click "export" . Save it to your desktop. Part II) Your chat history is in this file, but this is a database file and will need to be opened, and the conversation extracted. 9) Download SQLite Database Browser : http://sourceforge.n.../sqlitebrowser/ 10) Unzip the contents and open "SQLite Database Browser 2.0 b1" 11) Go to File -> Open Database, and open the MM.sqlite which should be on your desktop. 12) Click the "Browse Data" tab. 13) There should be a drop down menu labeled "Table:", click on this and there should be a list of all of the Tables in this database. 14) Each conversation will be labeled "Chat_" followed by a strange name. Click on each one until you find the conversation your interested in. 15) Once you know the name of the Conversation... mine started with "Chat_4f4c9..." and was a really long name. Once you know the name go to the File menu.. File-> Export->Table as CSV file 16) Save it to your desktop. Part III) You now have your conversation in the csv format with excess data. Download http://www.openoffice.org/, OR use Microsoft Excel to clean it up. 17) Open this in Excel or OpenOffice and begin to clean it up. 18) Your first row should say this, and I will being referring to these columns by name: "TableVer" "MesLocalID" "MesSrvID" "CreateTime" "Message" "Status" "ImgStatus" "Type" "Des" 19) By right clicking the column letterhead delete these columns "TableVer" "MesLocalID" "MesSrvID" "ImgStatus" "Type" "Des" If you want time stamps following these directions, if you know how to use Excel, otherwise skip ahead to step 21) 20) The equation to change the column "CreateTime" to an actual time stamp is as follows: +D2/(60*60*24)+365.25*70-0.25, you can then convert that to a date stamp, if its off by an hour then to add or subtract hours is +/-(1/24). Fill the column with that equation, and then copy and paste it as numbers. 21) Delete the "CreateTime" column, just as was done in 19) 22) Look at the "Status" column, it should be listing some numbers, one of those numbers is going to be your ID, and the other will be the opposite ID. 23) You can replace these ID numbers with names by highlighting the "Status" Column. Now get to the Find/Replace toolbox. You can do this by looking to your tool ribbon for Home->Editing-> Find a pair of binoculars (sp?) or the words "Find & Select". You could also press Ctrl-F. Either way once you get to the find toolbox, hit the "replace" tab, and type your ID number in "Find What" and then in "Replace With" type your name. Hit Replace all. Repeat this for all members of the conversation. 24) Now delete the Title Row, to eliminate all those names. Part IV: Almost done! Grab the text 25) Save your file and keep the formatting as a CSV file. 26) Open notepad ... Start Menu ->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad 22) File-> Open; At the open screen look for a drop down menu that is labeled "Text Documents (*.txt)" click it and it will drop down, click "All Files", you should now be able to find and open your csv file that now holds your cleaned up conversation log. 23) You can now copy and paste this log into whatever you wish, it should be formatted and good to go. Let me know what you think. Hope this helps anyone who needs the information. Happy hunting

My fiancee and I are preparing for her upcoming interview and gathering evidence of a bonafide relationship. Would chat records be necessary? After collecting them all it came out to be 1500+ pages of text. Anyone have tips or could share their experience in what they did? Thank you,

. . . when submitting I-129F and I-130 petitions. The 'kitchen sink' referred to in this article is not what you may have seen as referred to as 'kitchen sink' here on CFL. What we have referred to as 'kitchen sink' is having ALL possible documents carried to the interview by the applicant in order that they can be produced ON DEMAND. The article considers the practice of supplying ALL relationship documentation to the USCIS as relationship evidence in a 'kitchen sink' submitted with the original petition. My own belief is that you SELECTIVELY provide evidence in order to paint a picture of a loving relationship. 'Red flag' disclosure can BACKFIRE, in that GUZ is REQUIRED BY LAW to DENY any relationship that the VO feels may not be bonafide. No real new ground is broken here, except that it includes advice from a former Chief of Domestic Operations for the USCIS. It applies to I-130's as well as I-129F's Documenting a K-1 Visa Petition: Minimalist or Kitchen Sink?

This is another proactive thread designed to prepare petitioners with information to prevent the INA 221(g) "Not a Bonifide Relationship" visa refusal. My source for this information is from "Lady Hawk" who posted this on the Family Based Immigration (FBI). The URL is: http://www.familybasedimmigration.com/foru...thread.php?t=26 Evidence of Bonafide Marriage Below you will find an example of evidence in order to show that you have a bonafide marriage. Please be prepared to present suitable documentation at the time of your visa interview. The type of documentation you present will depend on your particular circumstances and the consulate post your visa interview will be held at. If you are unable to satisfy a consulate officer that you have a bonafide marriage not entered into for immigration purposes alone, then your visa can be denied. Section 221(g) INA * Tax returns showing joint filing * Receipts showing joint obligations for housing and living expenses, such as rent, utilities, telephone, etc * Joint mortgages, leases, credit accounts, or any other financial obligations including joint ownership of any property * Any evidence of joint finances, e.g. joint bank accounts, insurance policies, retirement plans, trusts, wills, etc. * Phone bill, photos, and correspondence between you and your spouse - from before and during the marriage * Any Correspondence to both spouses from family members e.g. emails or letters * Any evidence that those who know you and your spouse recognize you as a married couple, such as invitations, cards, correspondence (emails, letters), etc. * Any other documentation or evidence that shows that the marriage is a genuine marital union.

I have a trip booked for this June and I am really troubled by the choices between: file immediately OR wait a few months for more front-loaded evidences to go with the I129 petition. We will definitely have a lot more photos and 'total time spent together' after that trip, but at the cost of 3 months delay to our reunion and I figure those new evidences will be available for the interview anyway. Will visa interview officer there already made up his/her mind when reviewing your case before the interview even started? Here is a brief overview of my current situation: I petitioned for a K1 Visa 9 years ago (2002) for my ex-wife (also from China). A legitimate marriage and we stayed married for more than 7 years. I was very young at that time (earlier 20s) and made a mistake. I divorced in May, 2010 and meet my current girlfriend (in person) around Oct 2010 in China. (5 months after my divorce) The two of us have been communicating with each other ( Skype, email, chat) almost daily since that. I took another trip back to China this February and spent a lot of time together. At this point, we have known each other for more than 6 months and we have spent more than 3 weeks together. ( I have another trip booked for June and will bring my engagement ring this time.) I think we have enough photos for the I129F petition (to proof we have meet in person), but I am little concerned about the negative impact of my previous K1 marriage and the length of time (6 months) we have known each other. Things that can help my petition in a positive way will be our age: (both in early 30s) and our job & education background. My income is way above the poverty line and have assets such as house & savings in 401K(and IRA) in US. My girlfriend studied & received her degree in UK and currently has a white collar level job with an international firm in China (She has traveled all over Europe for business reasons & personal pleasure during last 10 years and even worked outside China for a few years. However, she has never entered US before.) This will be her first marriage and my second, neither party has kid. So, should I wait 3 more months to front-load I129F after the trip? Or just sent out the petition now and let her bring the additional photos to the interview? I have always believed that ‘All the legitimate marriage will eventually be approved’, but started getting scared after reading some of the bad stories here. Are there any estimated success rate for K1 interviews at Guangzhou? (Would marry her in China then file for CR1 increase my chances because I have already done K1 once before? ) Thanks for any comments & suggestions.

I have been living here in China for the past five years. I had been living with my now wife for the last two years and in December, we got married, in China. I have filed for her to get her Green Card but I have been asked for proof and it states for a "Bona-Fide" marriage. How do you prove that you are really married, besides having gotten actually married? We are married and they do not want to process the application. I feel that this is crazy. What more must I do?

Hi All - I'm mostly active on the VisaJourney website but wanted to post here to get some opinions. We already filed our K1 in November 2010 so we dont have much of an opportunity to change anything in the petition, however for the P3 and P4 I have the following concern. My divorce was finalized on November 16, 2010 and we filed the K1 11 days later on Nov 27. The basic story behind this is as follows: JoAnne and I have been seeing each other since March 2006. I moved to China in July 2008 and lived there until March 2010. In May 2010, my wife and I filed for divorce and in California there is a six month waiting period. The Divorce was final on November 16, 2010. I was contemplating using the services of a lawyer but at this point everything has been handled on our own. The question for anyone with expertise or experience here is this: Is there any thing that I should prepare in writing that describes the events and what questions related to this should JoAnne be prepared to answer during her interview at GUZ? i.e. how can I minimize this fact from becoming an issue? First of all is this the time when you "front load" your application? I remember reading somewhere about you only need to send in a few pictures at this time. If thats true when do i send in all the receipts, conversations and 100+ pictures? 2nd. How do you file the forms electronically when they required hand written signatures? I took the forms to her to sign while i visited. So can I just fill them out by hand and mail them in the traditional way?

I'm about to mail off our I-130 for the wife and I. However, i am curious as to how much documentation is too much... I have printed the majority of emails and chats and that alone is about 1" - 2" each. Plus all of the other relevant documentation, to include the following: (sorry about this but as you know the process is long enough without missing something, so here goes my laundry list: (again sorry) Cover LetterI-130 Application with assocated Supplement pagesG325a & Passport Photo Petitioner (me)G325a & Passport Photo Beneficiary (wife)copy of my birth certificate, front and backcopy of my us passport pages showing entry exit into Chinaall receipts from everything we bought in Guangzhou and Nanningall receipts from wedding partyall receipts from wedding registration - legal ceremonyboarding passes for all flights domestic and international flightsMarriage Certificate - copyMarriage Certificate Translation - copycopy of my divorce DecreeUtility bills with wife's name on themLife Insurance Policy with wifes name as beneficiaryCopy of New Deed to House with wife's name on it.copies of phone billscopies of chatscopies of marriage ceremonoy photoscopies of marriage party photoscopies of general photos'we both also wrote a letter, similary to the letter of intent for a I-129F but stating the facts of our relationship. How we meet and how we decided to get married. A short narrative with mine being notarized. the wife did not get her's notarized in Guangzhou. Total of 3 pages. So what Have i Missed, oh yeah check made payable to the "US DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY" But as I said before you add all of this up and it is about a total of 4.5" inches of paper.. You think USCIS will freak out ?? Then we are going to OPTIN for the "Electronic Processing" procedure. At which time i can email them about 4gb of Documents, photos and even our wedding video. That's a good question. how about sending them a DVD of our wedding? Just trying to "Front Load" this as much as possible without being irritating. I would greatly appreciate a "second set of eyes" to see if i have all things necessary before i send this off. Thank You for your Help Dan & Yonghua

Someone said to print up a chat log showing allof our chats then include a few chats from each week\month. I will do this but my question is how do I see the chat log? When I go into MSN messenger I can find our chat history and that is our whole chat conversation but no log listing each chat time. Do I make this myself? Or am I looking inthe wrong spot? Robert

Hi all I have been reading post about some people getting a blue slip asking them to explain why they got a divorce from there past wife. So I thought I would be proactive and take one with me to give to Hui when I am in China. Please take a look at it and see if yuo think I have answered any questions they may have. Hello my name is Robert H and I am writing this letter incase you have any questions about my previous marriage and why it ended in Divorce. I was married for 17 years to Gladys H. We seperated in March of 2008 and our Divorce was final in late October of 2008. Our Divorce went as well as any Divorce can and we remain on Friendly terms to this day. We Divorced because we essentialy just grew apart and found we no longer had anything in common other then our children. We would argue about silly little things and both of us grew tired of it. For us Divorce was the best course of action. Is that ok or should I expand on anything? I can even get my Ex-wife to write up something like it if I need to we are on good terms. Robert

Hi all, My wife Mei's (fiancee at the time) K-1 visa was denied at Guangzhou, the reason was "not a bonafide relationship". We were too naive at the time that we didn't prepare enough evidence to prove the relationship. Our relationship started in Nov. 2007. The K-1 was denied in Sep. 2008. I went to China to marry her in Oct. 2008 and filed I-130 in Nov. 2008. The I-130 were approved and it's in National visa center right now. I am a Chinese American and we speak the same language. This time I added her name to my company's health insurance. I also added her name to be the primary beneficiary of my life insurance. I started to keep my phone record talking to her a few times a week. I also started to wire her money each month and kept all the wiring receipt. Once a while I also sent her email message and I printed out all the messages. Regarding the photos, we had a lot of wedding pictures taken together with her family memers. We also have many pictures taken together that includes the engagement dinner. I went to China 3 times last year (2008) and have all the boarding passes that includes the wedding in Oct. I went there again to see her last month (Jan. 2009) and I also have all the boarding passes to show Guangzhou. What else we need to prepare for the Guangzhou interview? We can't afford to fail this time and we need all the help from you. For the worst scenario, if we failed again in Guangzhou this time, what we need to do at Guangzhou? Does someone have a good attorney at Guangzhou? We don't have many stories regarding the K1 failure and re-filing of CR-1. What's the statistics? Thanks for listening. K-1 denial was a very painful experience for us. We need all the help we could get from you guys/girls. Thanks.

I spoke to both attorneys for a good while. They both are smart and seem to know what they are talking about. Mr Roth is the attorney collecting horror stories. They both have very different approaches for their clients. Last friday I went to Mr. Roths website and clicked on the "SET UP CONFERENCE" section. It had different dates and times for the conference. It also let me pick the free consult ot the paid option. I chose the free option. I call him at the day and time and was immediatly connected to him. As for both attorneys, they both have completly different approaches to filing paperwork and both ways make clear sense. Both reasons to do something or not to do something also make sense. The problem is they are both completly different. I am just looking for opinions. I will explain both conversations and you can see haw they think different. Marc Ellis - I spoke to him about 10 days ago and he was in Vietnam and the phone call was very poor connection. We were disconnected several times. We finally gave up. I did get to talk to him for a while though and he was very helpful. He did not sugarcoat anything. He told me I may have some bumps in the road due to my previous marriage based on a K1 visa. He did say I will be able to overcome it. We talked about front loading the application. He advises this so we do not give GUZ the opportunity to say they found something new previously not known before and than they can deny the visa. This makes sense. I would also agree with this. I also asked him about us going to Hong Kong to get married and he thinks this is great. He thinks taking GUZ out of the picture completly is the best way to go. He did advise not to let HK know our reason for going to HK. If they know we went there to avoid GUZ, HK can send the app to GUZ or just deny it. This advise also makes good sense. He really seems to know what he is talking about and he really knows the problems at GUZ. John Roth - I spoke to him for about 40 minutes in great detail about my case. He thinks I will have no problem about my past k1 visa marriage. I have a life long history of only dating asian ladies and this will not hurt my visa. I also think what he says makes sense. I can prove this history. I spoke to him about front loading the application. He advises against this. His reasons also make sense. This is the second he and Marc are different. He feels that if you give USCIS to many things to look at here in the USA, they have a chance to RFE. Also he said they are experts and giving to much info is just asking for trouble. It gives them the chance to keep digging. Some how when he explains this I also agree. So now I agree with both sides and I am starting to get confussed. The third issue is about getting married in Hong Kong. He strongly advises against this. He feels that this is something that people have just started doing to try and get around GUZ and he says there is not much evidence to support this yet. This makes sense to me. He says that it is consulate shopping and it is not allowed. If they think this than they WILL deny the visa and make us start over in GUZ. He says unless there is VERY strong evidence to go to HK and get married forget it. He says strong evidence would be that most of her family live in HK or either of us live there. He says it is just not normal for 2 people to go to HK and have a civil marriage alone especially when it is the girls first marriage. Most people would want to be married at home with friends and family. This makes sense. Most people would not go to HK unless there is something they are trying to avoid. So now I am even more confussed. These are 2 very professional attorneys with a lot of experience and both are giving completly different advise. I do believe Mr. Roth is very sincere about his quest to change the way things are done in GUZ. I spoke to him for a while about this and he really is doing this like PRO BONO. He is taking his own time to do this. I really don't think he is customer shopping here by doing this. When I spoke to him he had his next appointment and told me to take some time and think about what I want to do. He also told me to call back with any other questions. He did NOT try to sign me up or sell me his services in any way. He did just return from GUZ. I guess after getting 2 different opinions I am just trying to see what other people think. JS

I've been looking for 'front loading petition' type posts with the search engine. If anyone remembers one or two of note they can link here for me? As soon as I get a package from my wife I'm mailing off our petition and I'd like to have it as complete and well organized as I possibly can. I'm currently making copies of evidence. Making 3 copies of everything. Reciepts for everything from when I was there, along with my Credit Card statement for tickets back to China. Some of my family are coming along this trip to meet the new family members. This is something that both my mother AND my mother in law asked for. Thanks in advance. Appaullo
